Final Fantasy IV

Gameboy Advance

Final Fantasy IV was such an amazing hit, that Square has re-released it once for Final Fantasy: Chronicles (with Chrono Trigger), but have AGAIN re-released it for the Gameboy advance. This will be similiar to what they did with Final Fantasy I and IIj for Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls

Not much information is available regarding the new release, but there is a website under construction:

In addition, Square Enix have a custom Gameboy Advance faceplate featuring artwork by Amano from the game. A picture can be seen Here.

Differences???

Many people have been confused on the exact difference and upgrades that FFIV Advance will have over the original FFII released on the SNES years ago. Here is the breakdown

  • The Big Whale is now the Lunar Whale
  • Added lines of script BUT story-line is the same
  • Magic skills have been renamed to fit series standards (Meteo is now Meteor)
  • Gameplay reverted BACK to original style found in the FFIV Japanese version, meaning the game is tougher than the FFII (US).
  • Healing items harder to find
  • All characters can use their extra skills that were dumped in the easy version of the game.
  • includes two new bonus dungeons with more than fifty floors to explore and more than a dozen new boss encounters
