2007 New Year's TOA discussion

Hey, not sure if this is where I should post this but here goes; when is the next tournament going to be held? Are they held annualy or a few each year?

Also I have a question about the origin of this, how did it come about? I only ask because I think how I haven't really seen anything like this in any of the other forums I have written in.

The Tournament of Arms has been around since long before I was even a member here. I want to place its roots in 2000, before the move to vBulletin, but I'm not entirely sure. One of the pre-2001 vets would likely know the answer to that one.

There used to be two or three tournaments a year, but everyone's so constrained for time now that it's been an annual thing for the past three years. I want to get back to semi-annual, so that we may have one in the first half of the year and one in the second -- smaller tournaments would mean shorter periods of time and more availability.

Ah I see, availability can be quite a challenge, afterall people can be sure even with themselves that they are going to be consistant and/or frequent with posts and something comes up to disrupt that pattern. Also some people (like myself) have open job hours, I can be called upon on the night to work and that can be a headache.

Anyway, thank you for replying Loco and I hope that when the next tournament is, be it this or next year, that I may be a part of it.
