Japanese Horror Movies

Anyone interested in discussing these? I love Japanses horro, and would love to see if anyone else is interested in them. My current fave is One Missed Call, very creepy if you haven't seen it. I highly recommend it.

Also, I hate the Hollywood remakes and americanizations of Japanese horror. They always have to put in an exlplanation, whereas the standard in Japanese horror is that there is no explanation, it just is.. I think that is more plausible then trying to explain things for those in the audience without an imagination and need to be spoon-fed their stories.

What do you guys think?

I hate 'em! lol no offense but they actually blow I mean they are not even close to scary. In fact, I dont like any Asian movies except for maybe The Maid and also The Grudge, also The ring in the Asian version was scary.

I havn't seen any but theres a parasite eve movie thats Japanese. I havnt seen it but I imagine its good

in anycase, well if you happen to get it with sub, then its good so that you could understand the story, though the language barrier. For me, after seeing the Hollywood remakes, the scare factor dropped like 50-60% of the original movie, no offense but that I didn't find interesting.

I saw a few that interested me at a shop in a town I used to live in, but I haven't really seen any. Nice and surreal, just as I like 'em!

That's the point i'm trying to make that some people have seemed to miss:

We don't always need an explanation for things happening in a movie, or in real life even, altho people want one. They want it handed to them because they believe in cause and effect. Sometimes things just ARE, and that is the point of Japanese Horror: It just is, and we have to deal with it as it is.

I'm so tired of people not thinking for themselves and wanting everything to be spoon-fed to them. Whatever happened to individual thought and questioning what we see and hear?

Anyways i'm going off topic here but it seems very relevant to movies and media in general nowadays.

Parasite Eve rocks!! It may be different from the video game, but it's a great film, nevertheless. I highly reccomend it.

I have only ever watched one japanese horror film and I really didnt like it, I fell asleep half way through so I dont have a clue what it was about. I like martial arts films though with Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee.
