Red didn't say too many things though, so you have to take that into account. Tifa's voice was alright...and I, too, hope that they remake the game. -crosses fingers.-

A lot of waht isn;t explained in the movie has since been explained by the creators or was already covered in the Ultima guide to FFVII, believe it or not. As such I've attained enough information on the subject that I am content with the execution of it in the movie.

As a tidbit, did you know the 'storm' that Sephiroth summons is actually a manifestation of 'negative' lifestream energy that was born of those that died of geostigma or otherwise died with JENOVA cells within them? It is this negative energy that gives Sephiroth his power and his ability ot kill the Planet and its people from within. The JENOVA virus rolls on, even after her 'death'.

Seriously though...I was disappointed with the plot and the feel of every fight scene being rushed to fit its corrisponding music track. Even the dialogue seemed rushed save between Tifa and Cloud, and those moments just seemed to drag compared ot the rest of the energy of the movie.

This movie, like most games these days, was all about graphics, slightly about plot, and mostly about making money. There were a few interesting interviews on the second disc and I'm very happy to own the movie, but it's not something I'd sit other people down in front of to watch.

Having said which, it blew the doors off the first FF movie, and in that respect it is a triumph.

God, I hate that movie.

But it was decent. You don't need to play the game first to see it, even Nomura admitted it to some extent in an interview. The plot is new, the characters don't really take on the personas of the game characters, uh...That's basically it. Nice if you want to some eyecandy and action-packed scenes. I'd be very afraid to watch it dubbed though (from what I've heard, not because of senseless dub hatred), the movie pissed me off enough when the voices were decent.

This thread certainly brings on a feeling of déja vu.

Well Final Fantasy Advent Children is a pretty good movie, but nothing too great. I like it the first time I saw it, cause well it looks nice, and I love the movie in the sense that most of it is just 1 huge action sequence. But then the second time through I realized it's an okay movie cause it looks nice but really there is a minimal amount of story, but I suppose most people know that already. It is what it is and nothing more, it's a FF action movie. Granted I do like it in a popcorn movie sort of way but I don't think it's a movie that has so many memorable lines or a plot that would hold up for ages. It's just a fighting movie with the cast of FF VII but I still enjoy it in a very simple manner.

Blehhck!

I didn't like it!! Alright. Reno was a totally hot pixalised man-bitch. But meh. It definately was a pretty movie, but boring as **** and a total waste of time.

Guuuh. I was beginning to wish Dante's false thread of Cloud dropping dead would actually come true so I wouldn't have to watch anymore. ;_;

I think Silent Hill is seriously the best game to movie. And not just because I was a fan of SH before. It was actually interesting, and really moving at times. I like a film with emotion and a feel of relating with characters, Silent Hill delivered this well, whereas I feel FFAC did not.

Who did the voice of Aeris?

I always imagined Jennifer Lien would have been the perfect voice for Aeris.

(Kes from Star Trek: Voyager and she also a voice in the Men in Black cartoon series.)
