Here's a thread where people can show/tell what is their favorite musical is and why. I have a couple but I wanted to know what everyone else liked as well, here are mne and why I like them: Chicago: This one is my absolute favorite because its not that simple as other musicals, its back in the 20's and it has an interesting pplot with great actors (I'm speaking about eh new version on DVD). I liked the songs and what they had to work with as well RENT: This has to be my second favorite because I didn't like some of the characters on there, but the songs were amazing and really awsome to listen and sing along to. West Side Story- A classic musical with a sad ending, the songs were nice to listen to and I liked that it had a point to the story....that gangs are bad, lol.

| Blue of Blue | I actually normally don't like musicals most of the time, but here are the ones I actually liked. Chicago-The best musical in my opinion. From Richard Gere to Catherine Zeta Jones it's fantastic. The way the media and people are portrayed makes it one my favorite movies. Little Shop of Horrors-This is one funny movie, but with wonderful music. It stars Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, and Steve Martin. Haha this at heart a funny movie, because an alien plant wants to be fed human blood, and it craves it. It truly has a ridiculous plot, but it's awesome. And the music is awesome, everyone has these great songs, from Steve Martin saying he loves that he's a dentist, to Rick Morranis wanting to do something with his sad and lonely life. I recomend this one by far. Rocky Horror Picture Show-A very and I do emphasize VERY bizzare movie. It stars Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwik, and Tim Curry. I can't really think of what to say that I like about it except the music, it's just fun music to listen to. Awkward, I'll give you that, but never the less all around fun. I've seen a couple other musicals but didn't really like them...I seem to like the awkward ones, haha oh well. | ||||||||

| | Grease is considered as a musical, isn't it? It definitely has to be my favourite. I have liked that movie since I was child. It has the catchiest songs in it and I love the storyline to it. I never get sick of watching it. It is also funny which makes the movie even greater. The actors all did a great job in it and John Travolta could really sing in his time! Besides that, I don't think I have really watched any other musicals. They don't interest me so much. Moulin Rouge and Chicago are movies I'm just not interested in. Grease is just a fun and entertaining movie to watch and I love it. | ||||||||

| | I'm not a fan of musicals in general, but I highly enjoy Tim Burton's films which are basically musicals. Danny Elfman has been Burton's musical guy since his debut film (non-college era) and they have been working together ever since. The two make a magical couple who can really bring you into a nother world with their filming and musical talents: A Nightmare before Christmas Corpse Bride Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I believe he helped in the musical, Chicago as well. | ||||||||

The Corpse Bride was quite an interesting film lol. I never saw Nightmare Before Christmas, yeah I know...I'm weird. I only decided to watch the Corpse Bride because Johnny Depp voiced one of the characters! The music in it was kind of gloomy and catchy. The storyline was strange at first but I loved it by the end. Haha I was unsure when I first started watching it because the characters were so strange looking. Overall it was a great film and I enjoyed it. My friend wasn't too fond of it but oh well. She has no taste LOL. | ||||||||

| Blue of Blue | Oh hehe I didn't even think of Nightmare til it was mentioned. That is an awesome movie. I like the music from it, Danny Elfman is genius, from Simpsons music, to Fable, it's all wonderful. I like the gloomy setting it takes, but in a weird approach. It had such happy moments, like when he acted as Santa and gave the gifts out. I wasn't like a goth or anything with the people that wore t shirts of it all day, but I have the soundtrack and a couple times a year I do enjoy to listen to it. | ||||||||

| All-range mode! | IF y'all love Danny Elfman so much, you should check out Oingo Boingo (they broke up in '95, though. Elfman was the lead singer, however.) Also, their "Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo," if you can find it. Yeah, I basically love any music Elfman does, and most of the movies his music goes along to. Nightmare Before Christmas was awesome. I've yet to see Corpse Bride or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, however. I didn't see Phantom of the Opera, but I've heard music from it, and I liked it. I also like most of the music I've heard from West Side Story. My favorite musical from the stage is probably Les Miserables, however. I made a thread about it in January, but no one responded to it... Wuv, Yer Mom
