Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

Just caught a peak at this on the web, not sure how long it's been due to be released but the last one was pretty neat. I thought it was well done for a remake, and had some moments which made you jump. Plus most of the females are cute This next one is gonna have Jordana Brewster in it too! mmmm sadly, i don't think it's supposed to be released to October of 2006.

Another one? Damn.

The first one was good for its time, but incredibly cheesy now. The second one was even cheesier. Now another? I'd hope it has good-looking girls in it, because that's the only way I'll watch it.

i know what you mean! the original TCM(1974), although a good idea, just looked poorly made... but it's old. the sequels(2 - 1986, 3 - 1990, Family Portrait - 1988, 4 - 1994) got worse and worse, and with most horrors... the nudity became plentiful.

the remake of TCM:1 was good because i think it envolved the story around the characters more, you could actually see! lol (so much fuzziness on the original), and the story remained the same.

TCM: The Beginning, may be good because the lead females are indeed attractive, but if it's story is just a sad attempt to make more money for the producer, im gonna be upset. cause i do believe the actual events that took place in real life did go on for some time... so the sequel could follow that, much like the first remake did.

The last thing we need is another one of these films showing up, and convincing a bunch of teens that this actually took place. There was no leatherface, there was no family of people butcherers, there was no chainsaw. This all is based loosely on the life of Ed Gein, a serial killer and someone who mutilated several women. He was a sick bastard who is now gone.

It was kinda scary in some parts but part of it was funny. My cousins and I were watching it and we were screaming in every single part(even if it was not scary, just for fun). The guys...Mike Vogel, was cute but it was really sad when he died. The old man was so scary and I think he was kind of nasty.

That's something most people don't know, too. When they say "based on actual events", that doesn't mean they resemble the actual events. It just means the producers thought "hey, maybe if we put this in here, it'll attract more people, because they'll think something like it actually happened and it'll be scarier". Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, and Silence of the Lambs (the three books, rather, which were later made into movies) were all "based on" Ed Gein.

I hope we will be able to be stunned with the beautiful acting of Jessica Biel once more. XP

Well, at least she`s hot.

ok - no

the original texas chainsaw massacre is AMAZING. yeah it was low-budget, but it sort of has a chilling sense of reality to it. the remake was insulting it was so lame. they made leatherface's lair look like like some freakin damp dungeon - as opposed to the stinky, low-celinged, neon-light lit nightmarish insanity HQ of the original.

and the chick blowing her brains out at the beginning was totally stupid. the kid cutting himself in the original was sort of... believable almost - like i could see myself actually being in that situation. as soon as the girl shoots herself i was no longer in the car with those kids.

they sure as hell don't need to make another one. i say leave the classic where it lies. :\

oh and Ed Gein did a bit more than "mutilate several women." he was a graverobber and murderer, who made furniture and household goods from human bones/skin - including an armchair made of human skin, female genitalia kept preserved in a shoebox, a belt made of nipples, a human head, four noses and a heart, and a suit made entirely of human skin.

i think he might also have had a retarded accomplice that was the inspiration for leatherface - but i'm not 100% sure on that.

Wasn`t Leatherface a female in the original?

I remember the cover to the sequel looked like a cowboy flick.
