Ahh, remember the days of the old Nick? There were great shows such as My Brother and Me, Global Guts, Kid Gladiators, Wild & Crazy kids, and let us not forget my two favorite Aaah Real Monsters and Are you afraid of the Dark.


In my opinion Nickelodeon nowadays is bad and Rugrats is too. The only Cartoons I think that would suit the back in the day Nick, are The Fairly Odd Parents, and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Everything else sucks. wait I forgot Spongebob, I love Spongebob!

...I coulda sworn there was a thread like this already, remembering shows we used to watch as a kid, and most of those were on there.

Welp...I agree with Doug...the old Rugrats where the animation/art quality was more poor....but have you forgotten Pete & Pete and Salute Your Shorts? OMGzors.

There are like...4 or 5 Nick stations now...some have some of the old stuff and the others are just new BS.

Sorry, but I LOATHE spongebob.....but I have my own reasons for that. It's not REALLY the toon itself....but I won't go into that here.

The toons like Ahhh! Real Monsters and Rocko I consider "new" because they came about after SYS and P&P were off the air.


And to go DEEPER back in time....how about David the Gnome and Eureika's Castle?

Yes, a thread dedicated to the old Nick. that's great. I used to watch it obsessively. Looney tunes used to be on at 7am I think. i used to watch that alot. I rememebr that Double Dare and What Would You Do were awesome. Marc Summers was awesome. I used to watch these shows...Rocko's Modern Life, Ahh Real Monsters, looney Tunes, Pete and Pete, Clarrisa Explains it all, Beetle Juice "the animated show, Anamaniacs, My Brother and Me, Rugrats, Doug which actually wasn't very good but it was to see a kid who was 10 and couldn't take the preasure. Where was I...uhh oh yeah Kenan and Kel sucked, and I never thought the orange soda joke was amusing. Then there was The Adventures of Alex Mac, I never eally liked it but I remember it. I think Figure it Out and Catdog signified the end of Nick. Theres a channel I have that shows Doug, Rocko, Rugrats, Ahh Real Monsters, Anamianiacs, and Tiny Toons. Then theres another one that runs GUTS and Double Dare. I love all those shows, they're so great. There was a vampire episode in the hospital of Are you afraid of the dark where there was a wicked scary like 7 foot looking green vampire, and had a girl human form, but then when he was a vompire he had some sort of European accent. I wish old Nick came back sooooooooooooooo badly.

Oh, the one episode of that I remember was the one where some kid had drown in the swimming pool at the school while his sister and her boyfriend were kissing.....and the pool closed down till much later when a girl started going there and found the pool and when she walked out after discovering it, a body came to the top of the water under the pool cover, and the school re-opened it and stuff....


How could I forget Clarissa and Beetle Juice!? Yeah, those were awesome.

Did you know Marc is now the host of one of the Food Network shows? When I first saw him I was like DUDE! He was from that Nick game show!!!

Yeah, I miss those days.

For a while they had a new Wild & Crazy Kids show....but it wasn't NEARLY as fun as the orig.

I must say, though, I still remember being really creeped out by the blue goo oozing clown from an Are You Afraid of the Dark episode. First one I ever saw at age.... 7 or so. **** that clown...

Don't forget about that ridiculous host. He would pretend to sound like a trumpet, and his name was Face. Then there was The busy world of Richard Scary, Rupert, and Franklin. And then there was also Alegras Castle, it had a green dragon and Alegra, that's really all I remember about it.

Oh yeah something that I forgot to mention in my other post. I was on imdb and I lokked up Ahh Real Monsters that fly thing named Zimbo was voiced by Tim Curry. Yeah the guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show and Home Alone 2. I was amazed he did the voice for that thing.

Rocko and Angry Beavers are still playing daily...and I catch only some of the other toons as well sometimes. Franklin is still a fairly new one, but the busy World one and Rupert I liked to watch a lot of too. I knew there were more, just couldn't think of 'em.

Little Bear is still on too. I have one of the old story books that the series came from. Had it since before it was a show.

I hated Angry Beavers, it was stupid.

I thought Angry Beavers was one of the last shows that I liked. I couldn't stand Catdog, that one annoyed me so very much. I thought Angry Beavers may have been a bit goofy, but it always held my attention, just like when Norb had to be Daggets slave for 1 day because he let him have a licket split. In the end Rocko and Salute Your Shorts were my faves but Angry BEavers was pretty good. hey does anyone else remember Nick Arcade, with Phil Moore?

You know I've thought a lot about that lately, all those great shows. Stick Stickly during the summers, and my fav show was probably Legends of the Hidden Temple. But Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, Angry Beavers, Pete and Pete, the classic All That...I mean the list goes on. I truly do miss those shows. I think they have a channel with all the old shows on them, might even be desperate enough to buy it someday.
