RE was great, AC is great, FF: TSW has nothing to do with teh FFs at all, lmao.

SF was horrid, but cammy was hot. So was Chun Li. MK 1 movie was great, MK 2 sucked.

And.. that's all I can remember.

Although I technically have not seen this movie, I think that Silent Hill promises to be the absolute best game to movie adaption ever. Just from the few scenes in the trailers I got the feeling that I was in the games and not some cheap attempt to reproduce the environment. It also seems to stay true to the game and not try to accel to something that its not. I'm hella psyched for this movie.

^^ i agree.... saw the previews for Silent Hill last week at the theater and it looks promising, although to be honest, the game atmosphere seemed more spooky to me than the movie is gonna be, but i hope im wrong. but the way the town looks, and the ash falling, and the storyline does seem to hold true.... but the previews didn't show some random hellish looking beast randomly walking the streets lol...

and im gonna agree with the majority, resident evil did a good job going from game to movie. the acting wasn't cheesey and it had some pretty amazing fight scenes, and it held my attention. i never saw the sequel though, should i?

doom was just stupid.

ff:sw, had me for a bit, then it was just rediculous. the whole idea was pretty neat about the ghosts, but they failed overall.

first tomb raider, was okay. never saw any sequels.

super mario bros. was pretty funny, as in so stupid it was funny. but it came out when i was a little younger so i enjoyed it. john leguizamo is a great acter... and his comedian show is even better.

and going backwards..... from movie to video game... the nightmare before christmas: oogie's revenge was pretty fun =X

I'd have to disagree on Resident Evil personally. The acting was cheesier than a bag of Parmesan. It was way to overdone and came across too much as acted rather than something natural. The fight scenes were also lacking. Too much over the top action rather than something phesable. Even the monsters looked anything but real.

However, the sequal is supposed to have been better (source: brother who is extremely reliable when it comes to judging films). Although I have not seen the second movie, I will not hesitate to watch it.

AC is the best, by far. Many game-to-movie adaptations fail to see the vision the creator of the game had, and usually skew it to something stupid. I'd rather have a movie that follows up on a game, created by the team that made said game. AC, for example .

I love Advent Children...not only one of my favorite video game to movie..movie but one of my favorite movies in general.

I loved Mortal Kombat when I was a kid...then I saw it a couple months ago again and I loved it because it was great to laugh at. Johnny Cage doing his signature move...priceless. There are a few out there.

Silent Hill looks BEAST! I can't wait for this baby to come out to watch it.

I too would have to vote for FF7 AC but unlike most of the people here I have seen it and it is a very awesome movie.

I would say Splinter Cell it they made one. It would be pretty popular since it would fit well with the action movie atmosphere.

^ What the hell!?!? No it's not. It might have a pretty good sized fan base but it's far from the best and most popular.

I realised that I have not even commented on AC yet. Well, it wa sweet as hell. I had a massiv feeling of nostalgia playing almost feeling as if the world had truly come to life. The graphics, a trademark of Square, were absolutely untoppable and could not have turned out better. The acting, as far as I can tell from the Japanese actors, sounded good but it's kind of hard to assume. All in all, definitely a better turn out than I had dreamed. However, when the movie was over, I was kind of stunned. I felt it was short for some reason all though the clock said otherwise. Maybe it just seemed unfinished for some reason.

none of them. advent children just barely counts as a game-movie adaptation as it's CG and straight to DVD - as far as live action big screen flicks go i don't think i've seen a single one that hasn't sucked balls. they always feel the need to "adapt" games for the screen, and the results are always the same. everything turns into cold stainless steal and transparency filled computer displays. whotf cares? Mario Brothers was offensive, Mortal Kombat had cheesy graphics, Street Fighter was laughable, Resident Evil was watered down and edited by an ADD retard, Tomb Raider was just more pop garbage, i'm not even going to mention House of the Dead - there just hasn't been a game movie worth seeing, ever. and i'm not holding my breathe - sans The Legend of Zelda directed by Petter Jackson O_O. now that would be more than worth seeing.

as for the DOOM movie - i excitedly saw it the day it came out. when i got home i was so pissed off i wrote the following blog:

There was a BFG, that was awesome, there was like 2 minutes of complete first person cinema which was awesome (and should've been done a lot more), some chick gets her hand cut off in a door at the beginning and that was pretty cool, and there was a monster with like 20 eyes that was cool too - but here's my beef: It was the ****ing story from half-life! No ****ing devil, no hell, no demons, nothing remotely satanic at all, just genetic mutations??? WTF??? I thought this was ****ing DOOM the movie - yet there wasn't a single pentagram or satanic rune in the whole ****ing thing. No cyber-demons, no demons that shot fireballs, just scientifically explained monsters that weren't really that demonic looking. Sigh, i guess you can't make a movie about satan in this age of right winged rhetoric and creationist presidents - a ****ing shame, as it could've been very very great.

But i still have faith in id software as DOOM 3 was ****ing amazing - and now a reminder of how great DOOM the movie could have been. Oh well, c'est le vie. ****ing republicans, i blame them. So if you grew up on DOOM and it's just a part of your consciousness like me, then yeah go see it - the DOOM logo flies overhead at the beginning and it's pretty awe inspiring for lovers of the game. If not, don't waste your money on this alien rip off cheesy piece of shit.
so yeah - my response is there is yet to be a video game-movie adaptation worth a damn cent.

I thought that FF: AC was a great game to Movie adaptation. The fighting scenes, and graphics were great. MK was just really cheesy. RE was great. Silent Hill look very promising and I cant wait to see that.
