Due to lack of itnerest in my Vamprie RP, I'm going to try my hand at this FF Fan RP that I've been thinking about for a bit now. Here's the story.
Soon after the rise of the Master Clan Nutsy, there was a mysterious dissapearance of the Queen, the Prince, and the Judgemaster. With the three only heirs to the throne gone, the Judges have declared martial law. This means that the laws, while thankfully revised in the name of common sense, are more heavily enforced and punishments are more severe. Judges openly patrol the streets now, enforcing laws not only in engagements but in everyday life. Another factor is that the Lamia, which weren't previously known to have any government or organization, have shown a surprising amount of coordination recently. They've even shown signs of subjegating other monster races. And the greatest surprise of all is that the Nou Mu have decided to wander away from the cities, heading out into the deserts of Ivalice on what they've called a pilgrimage to further understand the nature of monsters. This RP will be focused on one of two primary factions, the Republic of Ivalice and the Lamia Empire. You as the players will choose one faction to be in, which will in turn determine what races you can be. This is similar to the Alliance/Horde split of World of Warcraft. Here are the factions and their races available. The Republic of Ivalice Human: the adaptable, inventive humans are arguably the backbone of the Republic, with a vast majority of their kind holding high office. There have been an increasing ammount of other races in government, though, a fact that the humans have mixed opinions about. Diversity: A human character may hail from a different culture, and thus may be treated as the member of a different race for purposes of jobs available. Humans with Viera jobs are all female, Humans with Bangaa jobs are all male, and Huamns with Moogle jobs tend to be gifted youngsters. Bangaa: Brave, strong, and honorable, the Bangaa have served the Queen of Ivalice with unshaking loyalty. In desperate need of mor eforces, the Judges have recenbtly been including the Bangaa among their own, promoting them to judges. Some Bangaa see this as a long-overdue reward, but a few see the sudden gift to be false, and that they aren't being rewarded so much as used. Still, they're loyal to the new Republic. Reptilian: Bangaa are very much like lizards, no matter how much they hate people telling it to them. They have stunted claws that cannot be used as weapons, but may still aid them in climbing and as tools. Also, they have a strong hide that gives them good protection from weather and a slight protection from physical punishment. Viera: The graceful, all-female Viera have always had a distant relationship with the Palace, and have never served openly. Most of their workings are with the Spirits, powerful creatures that only they can communicate with. The Republic matters little to these forest-dwelling women; They only stay with it for the sake of mutual protection, and a few stay for oppertunities to exploit. Spirit Talk: Viera know the tongue of the spirits, a language that seems like incomprehensable gibberish to any other than a Viera or the spirits they talk to. This allows them to converse with ghosts, summons and some other supernatural creatures. Moogles: Small and smart, the hapy-go-lucky Moogles are expert engineers that are nearly unequaled in technological skill. They have always been with the Quen for the sake of a pleasant society to be a part of. In the Republic, they share concern for the well being of things, but there is the ocassional Moogle Prank with good intentions that's seen by the judges as revolt... Jury Rig: Anyone with hte right training cna fix a mechanical device. But when the thing is broken, and there aren't enouhg spare parts, Moogles have an uncanny knack for criss-crossing wires and beating on panels and somehow getting the machine running again for a few minutes. Even moogles with no technical experience can rearrange the innards of a machine or gun to get short (but sometimes disasterous) use out of it. The Lamia Empire Lamia: These creatures were created long ago by using dark sorcery on snakes, giving them a natural cunning. Obviously, they are the majority leadership of the Empire, and see themselves as the superior race of Ivalice. The collection and trade of slaves is the backbone of their economy, and sometimes they subjegate members of their supposed 'allies' for sport as well. Since the slaying of the Queen Lamia, their Matriarchs have been making grabs for power. (Matriarchs are black-colored Lamia, a third breed of their species and the unquestioned leaders) Kiss: All Lamia have a natural substance secreted from their lips that allows them to attempt to charm soemtime. If they can manage to plant a kiss on a target, that person is charmed. They aren't under any mind control, but view the Lamia that kissed them on friendly terms. This works even in combat, but only lasts for a few minutes. The target's immune system adapts, and someone charmed by this cannot be charmed again by any Lamia's kiss for a day. Goblins: These fierce, small creatures are in a constant state of civil war. Each tribe sees itself superior to all other Goblins, and meeting between tribes almost invariably ends in bloodshed. The Lamia have taken advantage of this, and each Matriarch has her own "pet tribe" to draw shock troops from. Dirty Tactics: Goblins aren't as strong as larger things, so they learn to not play by the rules. Things like ambushes, low blows, or kicking dirt into someone's face are all part of your average Goblin's arsenal. Undead: No one knows what draws all undead to congregate, but they seem to have chosen to work with the Lamia Empire, seeing that the Paladins of the Republic are out to exterminate them. An undead is the animated corpse of some other species (even Republic undead are allowed) but they hold few memories of their past lives. They mostly occupate the Jagds, as they have the advantage of going unseen by the grim reaper. Necromancy: Each undead is powered by strong necromancy. This means that an undead that is "slain" will arise again in a few hurs, unless the body is purified or entirely destroyed. Also, they are healed by dark and hurt by holy. Luckily for them, their undead nature automatically recalibrates any holy elemental spells they cast into dark elemental spells. Nou Mu: As a part of their quest to understand all species, the Nou Mu have collectively abandoned the Republic cities, leaving behind hte oppressive, close-minded Judges and learning about the so-called "Monsters", seeing them as misunderstood. They believed they were the lone species that knew the secrets of manipulating souls, but they Lamia have somehow obtained the techniques as well. There are a select few Nou Mu that still serve the Republic, but they are seen as ignorant traitors by their kin and are regarded with distrust by their Republic allies. (Racial ability yet to be determined) For now, we can discuss Faction and Race. When there's a solid idea of how it will go, then we'll worry about classes and character sheets. If you have any questions or comments about the races and their cultures (a lot of it I have to make up on my own) then feel free to ask. Last edited by Rosc; 02-26-2006 at 03:24 AM. |

That's the general idea. Of course, things don't start off as violent. Nou Mu can walk the streets of most cities and not be arrested on sight. Honestly, there aren't that many battles going on right now outside of clan vs clan and clan vs monster skirmishes. But the Lamia are plotting....
Oh, and one more important note: It is possible to play as Emperial characters on the Republic side. This is by playing as "reformed" monsters that were raised in the monster bank. Of course, being a monster on the Republic side is just as bad as being a Nou Mu on it, if not worse. But it coudl make for an interesting RP either way. |

Oh, rad idea.
I totally loved the game, and would be honoured to take part in the RP ^.^ Could you do up a rough idea for our character bios? Name/Age/race etc. I'd make my own up, but I'm not sure what specific details you want. Get back to us on that one eh? |

Heh... hold your horses, guys. We're still discussing the faction of the party. I haven't even put up the outline for a character sheet.
but uh... no, stats aren't going to be used. There will, however, be character abilities from classes tha can be learned. What abilities you know off the bat will be listed with the classes available for your race. But let's not worry about stats and numbers and all that shmigeggie for now. After all, this is a roleplaying game, not a ROLLplaying game. Heh. I presume from your choices that you want to play on the Republic side? Alright, so it's oppresive laws over personal freedom, then. that works. |

Alright, here's the sheet. You can be any starting class from the FFTA game, and work your way up to one of the expert classes later on by learning their abilities from a guild (or other organization) once you prove yourself. If you don't know the jobs from FFTA, then check GameFAQs.
The starting classes for the races are as follows. Lamia: Beastmaster, Black Mage, Archer, Fencer Undead: Zombie, White Mage, Soldier, Archer, Thief Goblin: Thief, Warrior, Red Mage Nu Mou: Beastmaster, Black Mage, White Mage Human: Soldier, Thief, Archer, White Mage, Black Mage Moogle: Black Mage, Anamist, Thief Bangaa: White Monk, Warrior, Soldier Viera: White Mage, Red Mage, Fencer, Archer Name: Race: Gender: (viera and lamia are female only, andboth bangaa and goblin adventuruers are nearly all male) Age: Physical Description: (Give detail. Lack of detail makes kittens cry) Class: Profession: (yes, you probobly have a job. It may or may not relate to your class, your choice) Background: Posessions: (weapons an armor of course, but standard gear and ods-and-ends are nie to put down too. You all have about 100 gil in your pockets, besides standard gear.) Please also note the racial descriptions in a previous post. I have updated them with the special ability of each race. |

Name: Anthro
Race: Bangaa Gender: Male Age: 21 Physical Description: A burly, rough looking bangaa. Anthro's physique is impressive even by bangaa standards. He wears litte armor, as he is confident in his abilities and figures wearing such apparel will belittle his reputation. The end of his tail is covered in horrendous scars from previous battles. Anthro's coat is tanned, with many specks of darker brown. He is a very attractive bangaa! Class: White Monk Profession: Bartends at a local tavern. His friend owns the place, and hired Anthro as his bartender years ago. Anthro makes short work of any disruptive drunks, and also any women seeking some bangaa attention ![]() Background: Anthro began training when he was a wee bangaa. In his life, he has mastered just about every technique there is available to a monk, and has become an exceptionally good fighter. He is looking for a greater purpose in life, something a little more meaningful then fighting ad bartending. To fight for a greater good, is what he wishes to do with himself. Posessions: His prized possesion is of course his weapon. The Kaiser knuckle he managed to obtain through tedious adventuring while training, has been his weapon of choice for years. He owns simple clothes, nothing overly protective. Gauntlets and Battle boots. ^.^ |

Like I said on AIM. Sign me up, yo.
Name: Shanon Race: Viera Gender: Female Age: 22 Physical Description: She's 5'11", her bust is 36C, her legs are long and toned. Her whole body is toned, for that matter. Her skin is somewhat pale. Her eyes are a shimmering blue, and her hair is flowy and white. Class: Fencer Profession: She is a bouncer at a local tavern in her area. She's been a bouncer ever since she learned the ways of Fencing. Background: Unlike her cousin Shara, she preferred to go the Fencer route. She was very good at this class, too. Almost like she was a natural. Posessions: Standard fencing gear. A nice purple one-piece dress with tails at the front and back. It has white trimming and pockets. |
