The year is 2004. Scientists have been studying human DNA for years. Recently, a Spanish scientist, Dr. Ricard Martinez, has just finished mapping the human genome. The results of the century-long project were startling. Martinez found what we now call the "Neo-Psy" genome. The "Neo-Psy" genome is the genome that controls most of the human body. It controls your brain and stores your memories. In other words, the "Neo-Psy" genome is the most important genome in the body. Many diseases and health problems are caused by damage to the "Neo-Psy" genome, including amnesia, mental retardation, psychosis, etc. It was an amazing find. Now, knowing all about the "Neo-Psy" genome, many new tests, to study the genome and other aspects of what it can do are under way.

One year later, in 2005, a new find, involving the "Neo-Psy" genome has been uncovered. The British scientist, Charles Grant, has found the "Pulse" The "Pulse" is a virus. The "Pulse" is an electric pulse that is found all over the world. The "Pulse" is created from electricity itself. The "Pulse" is a dangerous virus. The "Pulse" affects the "Neo-Psy" genome. The "Pulse" neutralizes the "Neo-Psy" genome, ultimately destroying the genome altogether. Once the "Neo-Psy" genome has been neutralized, all memories are wiped and the person reverts to a primal state. The person becomes a savage. Many cases of this have sprung up across the world, but the cause of the "insanity" has never been identified. It is always blamed on "stress" or "psychosis". Never the "Pulse". There is no way to heal someone who has been affected by the "Pulse". Once the "Neo-Psy" genome has been neutralized and destroyed, the person is gone...insane. The "Pulse" will be around for ever. The "Pulse" is a by-product of electricity. Unless the whole world stops using electricity, the virus will always exist. Scientists are trying to find a way to eradicate the virus, to no avail. Attempts at vaccines are also useless, for the "Pulse" is not a disease. The only way to slow the process of the "Pulse" is by making the "Neo-Psy" genome stronger. Scientists have stated that increasing "Pulse" resistance in a "Neo-Psy" genome would take years of research and even if the genome was stronger, it is not guaranteed that the genome would be safe from the virus. The world lives in fear of the newly discovered virus.

One year later, in the year of 2006. The world has been consumed by the "Pulse". Somehow, the virus has become stronger, spreading faster than it did before. It has affected 99.9% of the entrie world. Only a few are immune to the virus. The reasons for this are unknown. The "Savages", or the people who have been affected by the "Pulse", roam the lands, killing and pillaging the cities...almost like zombies. Most of the major cities of the world have been destroyed. Only a small resistance of the "Pure" or the people who are immune to the "Pulse" are left. Fighting the Savages would be useless. They control the world now. Yet, still the Pure try to find a way to reverse the virus, to stop the Savages. It is a dangerous world. The only sancutaries left in the world are the cities of London, Hong Kong, and Las Vegas, the Pure headquarters. The Pure are about 4000 in numbers. The Savages are about 9000000000. The war has truly begun...good against evil.
