Murder on the Orient Express

Well this idea came to me when I was in the shower. One of the two best places for the ideas, the other is sleep. Anyway, unlike all of my other RPs, this has no prologue. *shock gasp faint* Someone catch that man quick... *thud* Too late, oh well. Anyway now that you are all conscious again, as I was saying no prologue and the title says about everything. The RP goes like this.

We are the train of the Orient Express going between Paris and Istanbul. The Orient Express is a world famous train that actually currently has several train routes across the world. But if my memory serves me, the original Orient Express was from Europe to the Eastern Asia region, Istanbul. I believe that there was a book of a similiar title, but seeing as I have never read it, I will not actually be following that. The Orient Express is a luxury train that only the wealthy can really afford. Current prices is 7000 dollars for a 6 day ride.

The time I am placing this in is the late 1800s, I thought about present day, but I felt more like a rustic, classical feel than a modern approach. Everyone on the train is wealthy or has a reason for being on the train. So your characters will be rich, whether they are royalty, industrial, or whatever.

The simple idea is that someone has been murdered on the train, between Paris and Italy. A detective is picked up after the call is made and he has just arrived on the train at the stop. The conductor and crew have been ordered not to allow anyone off the train, but to continue business as usual. All your characters will be suspects with some sort of motive and the detective, whoever wants to be the detective will be trying to solve the murder. We can figure out clues and things to happen in here, since all I told you know is about all I have planned out.

You can make your characters connected to the murder victim anyway way you want. Me I will be playing the victim's wife, Mrs. Christina Horrinson, the wife to the wealthy railroad tycoon Mr. Richard Horrinson. Mr. Horrinson has a very shady background, dark dealings, connections with the government, etc. so he has made a lot of enemies.

Profiles will not really be a necessary thing here, just a brief thing about your character. Since this is a mystery, I like to keep most of the mystery in the RP, we will all have our own mysteries and dark secrets, no need to bring them out at the beginning. It'd spoil all the fun. For sake of the simplicity, here is a profile of the deceased.

Name - Richard Horrinson
Age - 45
Gender - Male
Height - 6'2"
Weight - 210 lbs
General appearance - a little large, but well built too, not overly fat, but a little, clean shaven, business suit

Name - Christina Horrinson
Age - 32
Gender - Female
Height - 5'6"
Weight - 135 lbs
General appearance - rather small woman, fit, always wearing a dress, hair normally kept up around her head

Oh and one other thing I would like to toy with. Character death, being a murder mystery, we can expect other people to show up dead. So I was thinking about if had our characters included in the possible deaths, and when it happens you can rejoin the RP as another character. Just a thought anyway.

Like my other RP. Well I will give you the benefit of the doubt. So you can join, it should not take too much research. Just having watched enough movies that are murder mysteries or with 1800s. And I figure most people know a little bit about that time period and have seen enough mysteries or Law and Order or CSI to do murder mysteries.

Yeah, just remember no sigs. I saw one of your posts you forgot to turn it off. There is no tolerance for that, so aside from that everything is fine. And we do need someone to play the detective, who ever wishes to do that.

Well Ginny location does not really matter since you are on a train. Nationality will, but aside from that it really does not matter, everyone is on the train, no one is getting on or off.

Though I am surprised by the sudden burst of applicants. Well it seems like we have a pretty good size of people to begin with. I will start working on my post to start out the RP, it should be up tomorrow depending on how busy I am with my parents.

And future deaths/murders, would you like to not have any, have some but only on NPCs or on anyone?
