The Old War in a New Way RP

( OOC: ok, guys here it is, sorry this is soooo late! )

She clicked her tongue irritably...this was taking forever...a few more clicks and she stood up quickly, her boots thudding hard on the solid floor of her office. office...heh, more like a jail cell. She had always believed in keeping offices strictly "business like" and therefore had left all personal affections in her own quarters. she stomped about the room. A glance at the clock on the wall told her it was a quarter past 6... they were supposed to be here at five... a stray brown hair wisped into her face and she flicked it back angrily. "God damn it!" she yelled and kicked her chair off it's legs. She stood there, her arms tense and panting for a few seconds before she took a deep breath, trying to ease this stress. She threw her face up, breathing deeply and smoothing down her hair... if they were going to get here, they had better get here soon...she'd have a talk with the ranking officer too... She walked out letting the door close by itself, at a time like this, she better not take her rage out on doors, lest she knock one off it's hinges. through many long, torch lit halls she trudged, staring straight ahead at the blank walls. She came to her room and opened the door. An arrow shot straight at her face, and she caught it deftly, smiling a bit to herself. At least she may sleep peacefully knowing that her room was protected by this trap. She rigged the booby trap back up before collapsing on her bed, and staring at the ceiling. The walls of her room were decorated in weapons...mainly useless... but a few that were still good for something. The rest of the rom was equally as bland, no pictures...or momentos, the only thing at all that would say, "this is my room" was her bras and many clothes that littered the floor. She sat up and smelled herself...ughh...hmm..." one more day" she thought to herself, calculating how long she could delay a change of clothes and dreaded laundry...then she heard it, a low drum, signalling the troops. She bolted out of bed, slamming the door and jogging down the halls, she came to a set of stairs and slid down the railing easily, stopping right in front of a pair of large wooden doors. Now to see her troops...

((Babe.....no offense, but you've got some serious no caps going on at the beginning of your sentences. ))

Annelise generally kept good humor in long supply. Point in fact, you'd be very hard pressed to find her otherwise. Her current predicament however, almost had her at the end of her rope. The light drizzle and windy weather had only slowed her comrades slightly, but for Annelise, it had been a trial. She had been dodging raindrops and fighting the wind for upwards of two hours now. Poor little fae. That hadn't kept the smallest of their troop daunted. As the newest recruit, she vowed to herself not to complain or ask for help. How long had she been with them? Two weeks? Maybe at a month she'd have asked for a ride. Not today though.

"ZAWEEE!!!! Guys, that's it, that's it, that's it!!!! That's the fort!" Annelise said as she spun around in the air, a blur of blue. She flew over Serafina's head, ruffling her hair as she passed, and stopped a few inches from Tsi's nose. "See, see! We're not too awful late!" she continued, all grins for the moment. Then she took off at top speed toward the fort. Now emboldened since they were nearly at their destination, she easily zipped in and out of the rain. She was almost there, and could easily make out the figure at the for when a big gust of when shoved her foward at an uncontrollable speed.

"AHHH!!!!!" the little one yelled, spinning out of control. She was stopped just as quickly by.....something smelly.

Ick. Annelise coughed. "What's that smell?" she muttered, just before looking up. Maybe she should have looked up a little quicker.

(sorry, i'll be more careful from now on, thnx btw)

She grabbed the thing that flew at her, and held it lightly, lowing it down to her, it moved a bit.
"What's that smell?" the little thing asked, looking up a moment too late and then her eyes widened.
"Yea, that's right," she said ,"that stench isn't victory, nor is it fate, that smell is your leading commander, and you... you're a bug...they sent me a bug...." Amienth held her up by the shirt, examining her. She then sighed, releasing the fae. "You better be able to shoot sparks out of your ass kid..." Before the fae could answer, she looked across the field at her bedraggled troup." Late...and from what i can see, starving, tired, and......frightened." She stomped out to meet them. By this time, the rain was the size of that bug. She came up to them, with the fae right beside her. "Fall in!" The group fell into a line, all of them straight up and down, heads focused on an invisible point directly ahead. She smirked to herself, slightly amused, this was at least a plus. "My name is Amienth Telgar!" She roared over the tumultous storm, just barely making herself heard. "To you, Captain Telgar. I am the superior ranking officer, and i expect you to remember this. We were going to train, so i could see what to make of you, but you are an hour and a half late, drenched, hungry, and tired i expect. So training begins tomorrow. Be ready. There is a stew in the kitchen, I trust your noses will lead you to it. Also, unlike many of the forts, there are rooms to spare here, so you will not be bunking united as one. You will pair off, in ranking order, and go to your rooms, co-ed may occur, and it is acceptable, but i warn you, anything sexual will lead to a profitable amount of punishment. The rooms are in the north tower. The only exception to this, is that your Lieutenant recieves his or her own room. Now, Lieutenant, step forward." A man of about 20 stepped forward, and she studied him a bit noting that he was in good physical condition. You will follow me to my office. You will then join the others, after I have talked with you." She turned back to the rest, "Fall Out!" And she set off across the grounds, a slight trudging noise behind her.

Tsi looked at Captain Telger. This was his new commanding officer? She seemed to be a bit of a loudmouth. She called him forward so he stepped forward. So they were going to have a meeting before he was dimissed. This should be interesting... He followed her down the hallways of the fort it wasn't hard to lose her, nobody could lose that stench, he could also hear her footsteps from a mile away. Someone in this good of condition and high ranking position should not be walking so loudly...then, he realized he was walking louder than he should. Great, I'm drifting off... He quickly made himself become more aware of his surroundings and begin to walk as silently as possible, as he always did. I wonder where we are going...

(Just so you know, the text in bold is his thoughts.)

Serafina chuckled, watching the small sprite twirl happily and zip through the pouring rain, towards the fort. Cute thing, a little insane, a tad on the spastic side, but none the less, cute. The soldier trudged the last few steps that separated her from her new home quickly, stopping only as she heard the voice of who she assumed was their new commanding officer. She then stood and waited for orders, soldier issued duffle bag shouldered, fist on her hip, and hair plastered to her face.

“Fall in!”

The hybrid lined up with her new comrades, shoulder to shoulder with the others. This had been drilled into her head so many times she could probably do it in her sleep. Her eyes stared blankly ahead, unmoving, unwavering, unblinking. Her nose scrunched up as an unusual smell tickled her nose. Was that….their commanding officer? Damn, SOMEBODY doesn’t want to do laundry! She suppressed the urge to laugh as Captain Telgar began laying down rules and informing them of their sleeping arrangements.

“Fall out!”

Serafina’s muscles immediately relaxed, life entering her eyes again and a smug smile tugging softly at her lips. Now that that was over, she could get dry and grab some grub! She sprinted the three steps to the fort and shook her hair out, afterwards proceeding to wring out the remaining water. “I hate being rained on,” she commented to herself. She looked up and found Annelise, grinning sheepishly. “Gawd I’m starved! Wanna go get some food?”

Atma-Noah has levelled up - (lv 1)
(Ah guess I was late in coming with the group. Meh...)

Wendy's isolated face smiled at him like so many times before.....Would it happen again this time? ......Slowly her face rotted and decomposed like a corpse the smile still cemented onto her face. Transforming into the remnants of a battlefield..Smoke smoldering from the crevasses torn into the earth. That dream again it must be an omen. Noah thought as the footsteps neared the room where he laid on the cot.

His eyes still not wanting to see the light stayed shut while he grabbed the hilt of his sword, pointing it at the door he spoke to the owners of the steps "If you'd like to see your families again I'd suggest not to come any further." The group whispered and then one spoke.

"Traitor you've been asigned. Edward our Lieutenant will be taking you to the new camp. So pack up your stuff."

The name was unfamiliar to Noah but he quickly got up and dressed. After packing what little things he had he strapped on his sheathed sword and walked out of his quarters.

Noah paid little attention to the comments that followed him through the camp. As he neared the outskirts of the camp he smiled. The lieutenant was all to familiar now. His bow more importantly.

"I guess the promoted you for capturing me... I do think you looked better in the leather armour and the like instead of this fancy blue cape."

"Shut your mouth Atma. Your lucky I don't shoot off your tongue next time you speak. You will also address me as sir!"

"You order me like that again and I'll kill you....Sir."

"Is that a threat?" Edward said walking up and tying up Noah's hands with rope.
"We don't want you escaping. I'll hold on to the other end from my horse to make sure you don't Atma." He said beginning to bind Noah.

"I don't make threats I make promises and there are far more precious things the bind me to this war." Noah whispers to Edward still smiling. Another soldier helps Edward up to his horse and soon another troop merges with the few that were there at the beginning.

"Are you the afraid of me Edward? Getting so many soldiers to protect you? I guess you are an archer so it makes sense you hide behind things." Noah says being jolted by the rope to commence moving.

The walk was boring. Noah thought of nothing. His mind seemed to escape him and swayed with the trees. Someone began to speak and snapped Noah back.

"We're here Atma. Your will be spending the remainder of the war here." Edward said pulling Noah and him away from the group. The troop waited at the entrance of the camp.

Noah got the feeling that Edward was showing him off almost like a trophy. It was either the faces that followed them up through the camp. They two had come to an office.

This is the general's. I presume. I wonder what this base will be like....will they cage me like an animal or give me free roam like the last one? I guess I'm about to find out. He thought as Edward called for someone named Amienth. A girl's name? The general's a girl? I believe the this base would have been easily taken.....unless the soldiers are only pretending to look awful. His thoughts began to expand but he quickly brushed them a side.

"Maybe you should call her general Edward. She is after all a higher rank then you." Noah said laughing.

"What about you then Atma. YOU call me by my first name. Should you not practice what you preach?" Edward returned. He got off his horse and walked into a building, pulling Noah with him

"Oh Edward...I only call those above me in rank out of respect and I've got no respect for you. So to me you shall always remain Edward...Now that I know your name or would you like me to keep calling you what I was before....Bastard?"

"This is outrageous! I do not see what the King wants to use you for. At least I won't be staying here." Edward finished and opened up another door leading into a room.

"This general must be all work and no play wouldn't you say Edward." Noah said noticing the lack of personal belongings.

"Do not speak so boldly of the general. She'd kill you without a second thought."

"I doubt it even while I'm tied up I wouldn't lose. Speaking of which when are you going to untie me." Noah said raising his arms in the air then putting the back infront of him. Minutes passed and the door began to open.

ooh! you guys are picking it up soo fast!!

Amienth opened the door to her office quietly, and led in the Lieutenant who would be serving under her. She walked behind her desk and noted that the door was closed just as easily, this man was....if she guessed...subtle? hmm... She took off her jacket and hung it over the back of her chair. Grabbing her cup, she finished off cold coffee, staring at him over the mug. Amienth was thinking quickly, analyzing, for herself. She lowered the mug and set it down with a tap, "Sit...please..." She said, pouring him some red wine, though he had not requested it. She saw an involuntary scrunch of the man's nose as he sat and grinned to herself, maybe another day in these clothes were a bad idea... She walked behind a screen, and began to undress, speaking to him. "You are...an hour and a half late...," she said pulling off her tank and bra and replacing them with the spares she kept behind the screen, "Your troop is tired, hungry, and smell...heh... only a bit better than I do." She allowed herself a pause as she took off her pants and kicked them into a corner. She also changed her unmentionables and zipped her pants, buckling them with the same belt as before. "Now, I am not going to jump to anything, or begin to yell...I am simply going to put it straight out..." She kicked off her socks and walked around the desk, smelling much better. She tipped her head, and pulled it up into a scrunchie, then looked straight at him, not two feet away, "What kept you?"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, she sighed and held one finger up to the Lieutenant, signalling him to wait to reply. "Come in." And the door opened. Two men walked in, and she recognized neither of them. One, however looked of significant rank, and she was glad she had changed. She also noticed, one of them was bound at the wrists. She eyed the bonds, "What is it?...You didn't tie him tight enough....." she added seeing the second man's bonds begin to slip. The first dismissed this with a wave of his hand,

"Captain Amienth, "said the man bowing low. She didn't like him at all...he was much to proud of himself... " I am Lieutenant Edward, and this is the traitor Atma Noah!" He waited for a gasp or something...but when none came he resumed his monologue, "I have been ordered to put him under your powers. We have nothing more we can do with him."

"What do you mean? Put him under my powers?" she asked arching her brows, "What did he do?"

"Well...I'll leave him to say..." Said the Lieutenant smirking and saluting. Then he turned on his heel and left. Amienth sighed and rubbed her head, then walked around the end of her desk and sat down in her chair.

"Look Lieutenant, you are already to get to be of some use. "Go ahead....Atma? Tell us, why have you been reasigned to this fort?"

Tsi followed the captain into the room. He took a seat and shook the water off of his head. He listened to her speech and then did what he always did when talking to someone. He counted the number of ways in his head he could've killed her. It was a little exercise he always did in his mind to keep him ready to kill someone. He hadn't seen this room before and didn't know what was in it, which lowered the number by about ten.
He watched as she walked behind the screen and apparently changed clothes. Well, at least that smell will be gone... He could hear every sound that was being made in that room, from the rustling of clothes, to the near-silent breathing. He didn't drink the wine. There were only two things Tsi would ever drink, water and, occasionally, sake.

"What kept you?"

Tsi replied, "Weather," but apparently she didn't hear him, because there was a knock on the door right when he replied. Two men walked in, and Tsi immedietely began doing his kill count in his head again. Then, he noticed that one man was in bonds, really loose bonds at that. He heard the other man call him traitor. Hmm...this ought to be an interesting story... He began to listen intently when the man in the loose bonds spoke.

"Well thanks to Edward's introduction I'm not sure whether you two care what I say. Alas, I'll follow your orders captain and tell you. Tis not a story for the weak of heart but you two being westerners I'm not sure if you have any." Noah said getting out of his bonds and lying against the wall beside the door. Clearing his throat he began.

"A long time ago I was a soldier for the eastern army. Soon enough though, I became sick of the blood shed and wished escape. King Athean banished me for my deed and I escaped to the west. Thats when I met Wendy......"

Looking up from the ground his eyes seem to light up, renewing a long lost vitality. Soon they dissipate and he seems to mutter under his breath "If only I saved her." Then looks back down.

"...She was an orphan. Her parents killed during a raid. I decided I would raise her. Your gracious king decided that he wanted me to fight for him.....So he kidnapped her and is using her as bait. I guess your king thought this fort would suit me. So that is why I'm her captain. A lowly soldier to do you bidding. I also apologize for Edward's intrusion...I think he thinks that shooting me in the back has earned him some respect. Now I'm sure you and your Lieutenant have much to discuss. So where shall I be staying?

If I may captain I would also like you to send some archers up to the training ground. I noticed it on the way here. With this rain their arrows should be slow enough for me to deflect. I know a mere soldier should not be asking such a request from the captain.

Lastly I would suggest you have the healers take a look at the others, they might catch a cold from the journey through the rain....and there's enough senseless killing on the battlefield."

Noah looks up once again only this time he waits for an answer.

Hmm...interesting man, perhaps he would make a good soldier despite his despise for blood shed... This was an odd happening, Tsi didn't not like this guy, he didn't like him, but he didn't hate him. He looked at the captain and waited for a reply after listening to his story.I could've killed that lieutenant in 36 different ways, more if I used my weapons... It took awhile, but he finally finished counting. He wouldn't say anything until the captain said something. So, in the meantime, he had to find something to pass the time. He looked around at the room, trying to find anything that would be hidden within the room...

A bug. She had called her a bug! A kid bug at that! What did that make her? Larvae. Lowly little larvae. And then she assumed (though Annelise had no idea why) that sparks came out her butt. That brought her down to a glow worm.

Why would the army send you a bug anyway? Not that she doubted the army's capacity to not make sense, but still! The rant continued on in her head until suddenly she was brought to by Serafina's voice just in time to avoid a nastily fat raindrop.

Food?

"FOOD!!!!" Annelise shouted for joy, resuming the zipping and twirling. Annelise always wanted food. She burned it up so quickly zipping around that she always was ready for a meal. Good thing she only needed small amounts of food at a time. She stopped suddenly, and looked back at Serafina very seriously. "I hope Captain Tellie didn't cook it though. Seriously. Then it'll smell like, 'The stench of our commanding officer'."

teehee ^_^

The whole time the man spoke, Amienth was working things out in her head. She always tried to find justice in her kings ways, but deep down knew that something wasn't right.

First, he spoke of the King using a human girl as bait.... why would the King do that? That's monstrous!...no, he would be treating the girl royally, even though her title was "prisoner".

And all this was to get this man to fight for him? He must be very powerful... still, if the man hadn't wanted to fight... he couldn't be trusted...not if the King didn't trust him...

He was shot in the back?! That Lieutenant... traitor or not.... he must have fought back! She'd bet anything HE himself had started it...still...hmmm

She finally spoke after the man had finished speaking, " I....hmmm.... I'm not sure I trust you enough to put you in the same tower as the rest of my troops... but you are definately not to be put in a dungeon. I think, before any of the others are checked, you should be, not only for a cold, but your back, if they were mistreating you, I doubt they even took the time to clean the wound. However, I deny you archers, at least not tonight anyways, they have already traveled a long distance, not under the best conditions as you already said... You will need to eat before sleep though, and so I suggest you go to the Dining area...What do you think about all this Lieutenant?"

She awaited any suggestions from the man, wondering what they may be.

Tsi shrugged, he didn't have anything to say. All that was needed to be said was said. He sat in the chair and looked between the "traitor" and his captain. The rain splattered against the outer walls. Every so often, thunder was heard. Apparently, the storm was getting worse. Outside, tomorrow, everything would be muddy. He hated the mud, prevented him from traveling quietly and quickly. If only his troops knew how to travel, they would not have been late. Then again, not many of them knew how to travel quickly, it wasn't something they were exposed to in their lifetime, and it's not something that can easily be taught to others within a short amount of time. So, he would just have to deal with it. He waited for his captain's next order.
