New Blood

(OOC: It was a little godly, considering how much trouble Joseph and Syn had with just one shadvi. But we can just say that they were either female or young male Shadvi. Just keep in mind the past events.)

Syn made it about halfway down before the Shadvi caught his scent. Immediantly they were after him. Even though they could easily kill him, he had to admire how organized they were. He had heard the loud explosion and felt the caverns shake violently from what he guessed was Joseph's diversion.
He ran down the dark tunnel as fast as he possibly could, knowing a large score of Shadvi were right behind him. His eyes darted in every direction, searching for a side passage that sloped down. Finally, he found it. A well hidden passage on the right sloped steeply downwards towards the middle of the plateau. He made a sharp turn, losing some of the Shadvi. The steep slope almost made him lose his balance, but he quickly changed his pace so that the slope only helped his speed increase. The Shadvi were quick to follow, and continued to close the distance between them.
The slope ended, suddenly, in a large carvern. The sudden change in terrain made Syn lose his balance and fell, a sharp stone shard digging its way into his thigh. He clenched his teeth in pain and struggled to get up before the Shadvi found him. He managed to stand up but when he tried to take a step forward, he fell again.
"It's too late anyway, my presence has been discovered," Syn mumbled, slowly fading into a large ball of shadows. He finished his transformation just as the Shadvi entered the room. Syn flew as high as he could in the cavern then dove at an angle towards the middle. In the center of the carvern was a monument to a huge doglike demon that stood on two clawed feet. Two, long, curving black horns rose from its head and a fiery mane trailed down its back and ended in a long, forked tail. It was called Diablo (OOC: No, this is not a typo of Diablos from FF8, and no, this does not have any connections to the game Diablo for the PC.). In the eyes of the monument were two fist sized rubies that held a strange fire within them. They resembled the jewel on Syn's necklace. He quickly reached the monument and pried the jewels out with his claws then rose higher in the cavern, the Shadvi even angrier.
"One more monument destroyed," Syn mumbled, holding a jewel in each hand. Slowly, he closed his hands, reducing the jewels to dust. A powerful energy wave flowed from the dust, destroying all the Shadvi in its path as it filled every tunnel and cavern in the canyon.

Joseph continued to charge his attack but his concentration faded as the Shadvi stopped attacking and simply hovered, all facing the hole Syn disappeared into. With his concentration gone, Joseph's attack dwindled to nothing and he, too, watched the hole, sensing something powerful approaching.
The hole erupted in an unfathomable energy blast, destroying all the Shadvi in the canyon and causing all the tunnels to collapse. Until, finally, the source of the energy blast collapsed as well. None of the Shadvi in the canyon were left alive, they were reduced to dust by the powerful energy. Slowly, Joseph flew down to the remains of the hole Syn went through.
"Syn? What the hell did you do? You idiot! You killed yourself over a bunch of birds!" he screamed, slamming his fist into one of the rocks.
"I killed myself over a bunch of birds? If my vision wasn't failing me, I believe you were about to do the same thing," a voice came from behind Joseph. He quickly turned around to see a obviously weakened Syn limp over to him, holding his right thigh.

Joseph turned to face Syn
What,its him,Syns alive........damn,well thats good
Joseph fell to the ground
"yeah,I was.......but I can always run on the Road of Riencarnation heh heh"Joseph said as he stared at the ground,his vistion was now blury and he could almost feel himself falling asleep
"Syn,.........dont........ die"Joseph said just before he blacked out.
**about 3 hours later**

Joseph woke up,and Syn was sitting next to him leaning up against the wall
"Syn you okay dude......."he said in a faint voice
"Joseph.what is the Road of Riencarnation"Syn said as he stared at the ground,he was slwoly healing
"I-Its where"Joseph sat up"Its where Angel's go to get new bodies,ive never been on it before,ive just heard of it......."Joseph stood up and looked down at Syn
"wed better move it,or more Shadvi 'll be after us,and I bet these ones will be way tougher.......just promise me you wount die Syn...."Joseph said as a sience filled the cavern
what will he say?what will he do?
all these questions dilled his mind.

Syn chuckled,"Why does it matter to you wether I live or die? The Shadvi are all dead, trust me. Let's head back to Dragonia and report to the king."
Joseph nodded and followed Syn towards the city.
"How's your leg?" Joseph asked after a few hours of walking.
"Fine, it was only a scratch," he lied.
"What happened in there?"
"Nothing, just found a way to destroy the Shadvi," Syn didn't know how much longer he could hide the secret of the shrine.
"Well, what did you find?" Joseph pressed.
Thankfully, they reached the city, and Syn held a hand out to silence him.
Black smoke rose from the burning buildings of Dragonia. People screamed and demons roared battle cries and laughed at the pathetic mortals.
"Lets go, we have to find the king," Syn said.
Joseph nodded and quickly entered the city beside Syn.
They wove through the streets, killing every lesser demon in their way and avoiding the stronger ones. Finally, they reached the castle. It, too, was set ablaze and overflowing with demons.
One of the demons, a huge, black praying mantis, discovered them and quickly moved to finish them off.
Using his two swords, Syn parried the mantis' attacks and distracted it while Joseph moved behind it. In one, heavy swing of his sword, Joseph managed to cut the monstrosity in half.
"Lets go before more discover us," Syn said, heading towards the city gates.
"Wait, but the king," Joseph protested.
"It's too late, there's nothing we can do here. We'll have to strike at the source while it's left unguarded."
Joseph understood now, and figured Syn's plan was to kill the acolyte while its minions were attacking the city.
They quickly headed towards the city gates.

(OOC: Once again, I have little time to type these, so, sorry it's short. It'll be a couple days maybe before I post again, but I'll try to make time for that one.)

Joseph kept running and avoiding the attacks but couldnt keep up with Syn,and he fell over and blocked a Demons claw with his blade......
"Syn,a little help here"he said as he stood up and knocked the demon back,10 more took its place
"dammit all to hell!"he shouted as his blade lit up and he swung his blade killing them
