The Poulus Prophecy
(OOC: Well I finally got the RP up. Took a while, but I am pretty pleased with it. Lets see how the RP goes. It is going to two posts long. Sorry about the length.)
Divinity born in the trinity of spirits, three had come forth to become the divinity that would form that which is Linona. Upon the land their light would shine for millennia’s in an untainted light. The trinity bore life upon the earth and thus was created the Great Races of the Linona that served the trinity. Que’Ta, Ewuta, and Poulus of the trinity created the Temple of Linona for in which the spirits will live and watch over their creation. As the Great Races were born one after another by the hands of Que’Ta and Ewuta, the fair Poulus saw need for one more creation to be upon the world. A creation that would be the balance to all that existed and potential boundless as the heavens from which the trinity were born. In her image was created Woman and from Woman the anger and rage was rejected and thus was Man formed. An opposite to Woman powerful and untempered. In all things, balance is made and in the race of Man and Woman were each other their balance. --from the Book of Poulus (Revised and Abridged 8th Edition) Years past the great war that Men waged upon the world was fought, millennia’s ago was this fight. The battle for Linona as the men thought it was, their desires to control what was not their led to great destruction. The jealousy in their hearts of the Gods favoritism with the Dragon race burned their hearts black and created the malice known as Halflings. A warp and twisted race, evil in all purpose and intent, they were called Halflings by the Men because of their reduced height. No grand plan or thought was put into their name, their purpose was not long term in any means. There was only one goal set, the domination of all other races and the Halflings were quick, fast, and merciless in nature and easy to breed. It was this time when darkness poured into the world, a world that had not known malice and hate was rudely awakened and none understood it. They did not know how to handle this great hate that wiped the lands in clouds of twilight. The gods feared an end to the world, the Great Races froze in surprise as the Men, once trivial, now threatened the life of every being on Linona. At Mount Poulus, the place that was said to have been the birth of Poulus and her creations became the last refuge for the United Races of Linona. The last stand of lesser gods and the Great Races against all the hordes of Halflings and Men came to a fierce battle. The Great Races knew failure was death, but the Men were stronger than anything they had and only the gods could prevent the end of everything. But a weapon had been made, a god-killer, it was a spell of focused hate and anger that with the strength of all would even take down an all powerful god. Qours was target of this weapon, the leader of the Circle of Judgment. The spell poured unimaginable of amounts of rage into the god and before she was able to react the change it had already happened. Blackened by this evil that had entered her, she became a fallen god, a demon of unparalleled power that drained all the gods of their power and gained the strength to turn the God Poulus. Becoming as twisted as Qours, she became her servant with almost equally deadly power and all fled in fear. Apocalypse was certain, the Men had created a being that knew no equal and a time of uncertainty, fear, and shadows were left over the land as they waited, too, for their end. The demon god did not know time, it was eternal and patience was vast. But the strike came and all the preparations had not been enough, never could have been. The blow was quick leaving all of the world in disorder and all the Men’s advancements in war were not even enough to slow the evil. Swarmed by a power they could not fathom the peoples of Linona could see the twilight, but in the last moments, their most desperate hour a brilliant light shown from mountains beyond the forbidden plains. A woman walked into the land of the evil, Mount Poulus and there drew the evil to face her alone. Battling for the life of all Linona, she struggled against the tainted gods and managed to seal their terrible power into a stone from the age of creation. Saved the world had been, but changed forever would it be. The woman became the savior of the people and the men the cause of all problems. Sent into a second-class citizenship, the men had little choice but to deal with the changing politics of the world if they were to survive. The women took command of their race, their less aggressive tendencies pleased the other Great Races making them feel assured the peace would be maintained. However, as the world changed evil was not put to rest, it had only been set back. Continuing to fester and grow, evil slowly came back into the world until war was unleash on Linona again. From the dark mountain of Poulus Halflings began to pour out of the pits, hordes of new monsters and an unknown evil spread across to strike the races of Linona. But they were not caught unprepared this time and victory was their in one night. As swift as the armies of monster came they were destroyed by the war-strengthened hands of the Great Races. The evil was sent retreating back to their mountain, self-assured of future victories, the Great Races did not press their advantage. They left the evil to lick their wounds, but the decision came to haunt them when centuries later the evil return stronger than ever. Once again all life was threatened and the future seemed in question. Arrogance was thrown aside as the first night saw a bloody vision that had never been witnessed. Hundreds of thousands were dead in one night, the strength of the Great Races was reduced to a merely fraction of their ancient power. Calling upon the men to aid them in a fight they could not win, the tactical minded men led them to a few victories. A march on Mount Poulus returned all to where they had been millennia’s before facing a new evil. The fight for Linona had begun again, but the battle was not going well for the Great Races. They were losing the battle when a woman appear again from the forbidden mountains. She alone fought the evil again ending the threat once again rescuing the world. The Men had proved themselves in the war enough to reestablish their place in society. However, everyone remains reluctant, they are uncertain about the future and the thought of the evil having returned makes them concerned for another repeat. In the wake of the events with this threat the Great Council was founded, as was the Wizardry. The Wizardry was formed to train and educate the people about magic. All of the thousands of years that were spent in the pursuit of magic knowledge would now be passed on and given for all people to know. A new future to set down for all to walk, the evil had been defeated and peace returned. However, time has been revealing something mysterious, a new presence. The seers are fearing a new darkness, an uncertainty in the air has left many pensive about the future. What does the future hold, what is this new presence and will the Prophecy of Poulus be revealed? The day began as any other day had somewhat dull and somewhat exciting. You never can know what is going to happen in the day, the changes that will affect yourself as a person or the people around you. It is something that is terribly exciting in all the wonderful possibilities, the challenges, each facet of the life around. Truly a great time to be alive and living, but is not any day and time great. Yes, yes it must be. However, if the day is not taken into the hands of one it is left to fade and become stagnate. Nothing changes and the dust begins to settle where it is. The motion of life is not taken and it falls to ruin. Nothing could be worse than a life without sight, purpose a goal that makes you wake up each morning and go to sleep excited for the next day. Each life is given such a chance, and each has the potential for greatness but it is a jewel to be shined and polished. One cannot let such potential sit without work being put in. Only polished to shine will a jewel show its greatest beauty. Time gives all this chance and sometimes gives too much. The greatness is something not of ones making completely and it becomes that of legends and destiny. Each work together and against each other till it is what has become. Such a life is more than what could have been seen, and worse than ever imagined, joy and sadness twist together forming the life of one. The sun cracked into the window of Andromeda’s bedroom. Morning was beginning, a new day starting and the another routine day would begin. Andromeda sat up in his bed, or what could be considered a bed. He was not given much to sleep in, merely a few sheets worn and tattered on the ends left over from some of the council’s decorating. It was extra cloth not needed anymore and he was given it to sleep in. It was about all they could give him, even though Amronia was his provider; even she could not get him much. His position was very informal, not much could be said or done. He had fallen in the cracks of the system he sometimes thought. Though it was not so much that he was part of the system, even though he was, it was sort of a confusing thing to understand. His life had been with the Great Council, in service of them because his mother left him on the steps Amronia’s office without anyone knowing. No one knew who he was, why he was here or what to do with him. The servitude that he was left in was of Amronia’s making. Andromeda stood up out of bed walking to the small window that was in his room. It had been called a closet, even though it was a room now. They had stored some of the extra furniture in this room left to become dusty until needed. Which would often been during ceremonies and grand occasions. He had been given this room a few months ago when it was decided that he was too old to be living in the same house as Amronia. So they had him moved into the council building since he had no money or place to live. It had also made his duties with the council easier as well. He had little to argue with, it was pleasing to him since it gave him a better chance to be with the council. And so the closet was converted to a room, he kept a few of the pieces of furniture like a table and chair for his studies. They unfortunately they did not have a bed for him, which had left him with these sheets. He looked out the small window seeing the city the stretched out below. From his window he could see the Women’s District where Amronia lived. Staring out there he knew that she was thinking about him and he could almost feel her presence. It might just be his magic abilities making him feel that, but he did not care it was a feeling that made him comfortable. A feeling that woke him up for the day, made him ready to take on what it had to offer him and feel confident that he could get through anything no matter what. He smiled breathing in the air and turned to straighten the sheets before leaving. There were duties to do before he could leave for the Wizardry. He stepped out of the closet that was his room watching as a few women walked by to a council chamber. He lowered his head in respect and then walked once they passed. The halls were busy as usual even this early in the morning, since most of the members of the council lived in the districts of the Great Council it made arriving to the main building easier. They would start most of their duties by fifteen degrees of the sun, the time before then was theirs to be use for whatever they wished. This was generally when he was needed to run errands. But first he had to visit Ehutontushontuaika for a clean set of robes for the day. Ehutontushontuaika was a Hemerataq and they seemed to enjoy long names for some reason. Andromeda had asked him about it and was told that he had actually shortened his name already and would shorten it no further. It did not make much sense to him but he remembered hearing something about how their names read as their pride of accomplishments in life. Considering that Hemerataq live very long lives to begin with its no wonder they get long names. However, Andromeda could never pronounce his name correctly and shortened it for himself. It was funny to see the expression change on his face as he heard the name. “Hey Ehut! My clothes ready?” “Ugh…must you call me that?” “You know how many times I’ve tried.” “Yes…here is your robes for the day.” “Thank you,” Andromeda said smiling to him before he returned to his room. He had to change to meet with the head of the Great Council for the Women’s Section. She was given the requests for him and tasks she wanted him to do. Most would wait until after he returned from the Wizardry, but there would always be a few necessary for the morning. He patted down his long robes smoothing it out a little and walked out of his room to meet with her. Ferouia was the head of the Great Council Representative of the Race of Women from the Women’s Section, it was a long formal title which was tended to be shortened to head of the Women’s Section since naturally of course it was the Great Council that they were in. Depending on her moods she would insist on the length, he just figured it was something that happened before he would arrive that angered her. Though he wondered whether it could not be that time of the month, but he did not say anything. He let her yell at him and he politely smile, listening to the tasks needing to be completed and leave. The halls were thinning out as most of the people had arrived and all the public was not allowed in yet. He continued through the hall until finding Ferouia’s office, he knocked before entering. She was busy with daily reports from what he could see, her head hung the desk reading papers. Stepping in quietly he walked in front of her and bowed waiting until she spoke. “Andromeda, rise…I have one job for you today.” “Only one?” “That is what I said.” “What do I need to do?” “The Magetary-Notal has requested your services personally. She seems have taken notice of you. Here is the letter of request.” “Yes. I’ll see her immediately.” “That is all. Go now.” Andromeda backed away bowing one more time and turned leave her. Though it was a little puzzling that there was only one job for him. Usually she had him run a number of requests, most just small deliveries or errands. ”I guess it could be a slow day. Oh well, means a get more time before class to practice.” He walked through the rest of the Women’s District till coming to the Magic Council District. The Magic Council District had grown up from just one large council in the beginning. But as the school had grown and the need to regulate magic and magic studies more councils were formed to handle these various tasks. It had grown so much so that they were given their own section and allowed to do what they wished. He always enjoyed walking through their halls, he could feel the air of magic through every fiber. It gave him a warmth and assurance as well as a goal to try to be even a small part as great as these wizards. There was a history in the walls, one he hoped to add to though, being a man he feared that his day might never come. Few men were ever allowed much in the way of positions of power and authority, it was always a small position too. Would he be left to run errands all his life? |

The Wizards Halls as these were called, the ones leading to the councils rooms, but he had to pass through them to reach the offices of the wizard council. Flames of magic creation lit the halls and strange auras permeated the halls as he walked through. He could sense some of the strength of the wizards, though their powers were far beyond anything he could ever know. Each one of them was the strongest of all Linona, every race was on the councils having their say in the development of magic. Though he learned that an united front was not always an united voice.
The halls began to fill with more auras of power, he was reaching the offices. Each wizard was merely resting, preparing themselves for the day and yet they had such strong magic that someone with enough training could sense them. It was overwhelming for him, it made his head ache. They say that the servants that work in the Magic Council Districts go insane after a few years of working. That the mental stress they go through, even though not aware of the power, the affects that are constant bring them into a constant state of pain. Their minds just continue to get assaulted by this, untrained to resist it. Though recently they have begun to understand this and take measures to train the staff and tell the wizards to remember to lessen their own public auras. The Magetary-Notal’s office was just to the right of him. She was the third representative of the Women’s Wizard council. Meant that she was under Amronia, but not too far below. It also meant that she was well versed in the art of magic and one of the next in line for Amronia’s position were she to be promoted to the Great Council. Though he did not think that would happen for a long time, the current woman on the smaller council of Great Council was highly respected and still young enough to hold the position. He often wondered though if he would move to the Great Council’s aid were Amronia to raise in position. Andromeda knocked on the door waiting for him to be allowed into the office. It was a brief few minutes that he stood at the door when the door opened allowing him into the room. He looked around finding the Magetary-Notal not behind her desk but sitting by one of the walls her eyes closed mediating. She was probably ordering her mind before the day began. He stood halfway into her office waiting till she spoke to him. It was not but a few second before she rose up looking at him. “Andromeda, I’ve heard a lot about you in recent years.” “Magetary,” he said bowing to her. “Rise. I hear you are doing well in your magic study.” “Umm…yes. What is she getting at?” “I’ve call you here because there is something that I need to talk to you about. Something important. I need you travel with my daughter to a nearby village. You will be there as her company and guard. I would have assigned one of the guards to this task but with the Great Council reconvening in a few days there is no one to spare. This is an important task, especially since you are a man, remember your actions will reflect that of all men.” ”What?! Yeah, no pressure.” “Come back tonight to met with me about the details. I have told Ferouia to cancel any of your duties and give you leave.” ”Explains the light load.” “You may leave now.” “Yes, Magetary.” He bowed and turned walking out of her office still a little puzzled. Why did she give him this task, as she had said this was a job for one of the guards not him. Not to mention he was a man and that made him not the first pick. Though she did say that the Great Council was reconvening and all the guards will busy. He did not know too much about the Great Council other than they were on break for the last month. Guard duty would no doubt be increasing because of that. But should not there be someone else. Why did she pick him, not that he minded, it would give him a chance to see what was outside the walls of the Council. He had never had much of a chance to see what was beyond the walls. Even the school was within the walls of the Council, even if it was built outside of the Council. It had become part of the whole Council city complex. There was dorms and professor housing among other buildings that were all part of the Wizardry District, which was subdivided further to student, faculty and numerous other parts that made up the Wizardry. His time in the Wizardry had never given him much of the outside, though the buildings were tall and he could look out the windows to look around. It was not the same as walking through the streets and experiencing the life that existed out of the safety of the Council Walls. He wondered what it was like, all the stories he had heard were vague and seem a little high class snubbing the lower class. But he was not too sure. He walked out of the Wizard’s Hall back to the Women’s District and to his way to class. It would be a bit of a walk since the two were fairly far apart in distance. But most of the passages to class were on the outside of the buildings so he could look out upon the city below. The sight always gave him something to watch and enjoy during the long walk. Though this time he mind was preoccupied by the thought of him being an escort for the Magetary’s daughter. He had never heard of her daughter, though he had never really knew she had a daughter. ”I wonder what she is like…” This would probably be the closest he would have work with a woman besides Amronia. Would she be like Amronia, would make the travel much easier if it was someone he could relate to. Maybe she goes to the Wizardry following in her mother’s footsteps, she could even be as powerful as her mother. Though then he realized that he would be missing classes, ”I wonder what the professors will say. They do not like us missing class. Especially Master Unota, she will probably yell at me saying that what a typical male I am missing class. I’ll try to explain to her why and she’ll just cut me off and dock me points. She doesn’t seem to like, more than the other male students.” he sighed, ”Maybe its just my imagination. This is going to be tough.” He was coming in sight of the Wizardry now, the tall angular buildings were appearing through the housing that filled the gaps between the rest of the buildings. The larger auditoriums were around the edge of the Wizardry main class rooms which were in the taller buildings. He could still remember when he first arrived at the Wizard when he was when he was nine years old and Amronia was coming with him to show him where she had gone to school and worked. He could remember the overwhelming feeling of just being in the chambers of the Wizards, just them being around him gave him a sense of excitement and fear. There was a respect that he could just feel from their presence, he knew that he wanted to be like them that he wanted to have that respect that the Wizards had. He wanted to help people and try to do something to make things better. That was the day that he had decided that he wanted to learn magic. Magic use was generally kept to the women because of the negatives side-effects that people says it has on men. Though no one has proven that to be the case, but men in the Wizardry has been a very volatile subject for years. The women’s argument is always that it corrupts men and men’s argument is that are not women prone to corruption as well. Which then turns the debate into a contest of the loudest throats. He always avoided the subject when the women asked him. Even still though, it was a hard subject to avoid and it seemed like the debate would never end. He had just wanted to learn to be a wizard, the politics of his people had not concerned him too much, despite him living in the center of all that created the debates. Andromeda walked up the long stairs of the main Wizardry building, from there it was connected by telepoints that sent students to different parts of the school. Though the first year students were unable to use the telepoints because they had to be trained on them, taking the class on telepoints. It gave them the understanding and ability to send themselves to different parts of the school. An untrained user could not use the telepoints correctly and it was even possible that they could trap themselves within solid walls or phased into some object. That was people’s greatest fear, there had been a terrible accident centuries ago when telepoints were first being tested. Since then it was law that only certified teleporters could use the telepoints or teleports. Though there were Wizard that specialized specificly in the magic of teleports and they became the Wizards that would be the teleporters at the large ports. They had the ability to harness the power of the telepoints and use it to send people rather than just themselves. However, the students could only send themselves, but the class was a certification class that allowed them to use any telepoint in the world if they showed their proof. It made getting around the school must easier and if he wanted to he could teleport straight to the school from the Council building, but he enjoyed his walks. He did not think that magic should replace all parts of life, just enhance it. The telepoint was a little crowded today, so he had to wait for it to clear before stepping in, though it was not long. He wanted to get some more practice in before class, so he was heading to the training room on the upper part of the main building. There were many training rooms, but this one was the students favorite because of the open balconies that looked out across the city. Students would often just come up to watch the view, which easily distracted many. He would sometimes be distracted by the view as well, but his purpose was usually important that he did not want to be distracted. It was his place of peace and concentration, where he could focus his mind to be ready for the day of training. Magic practice was a pursuit not to be taken lightly, preparing the mind and body was essential to success. The difference between the serious students and the lazy ones could be seen easily in the focus and strength of their skills. Though Andromeda never had excellent success with magic, despite his constant efforts to improve. His Masters would tell him that he was not as strong as most Wizards, but that he had something most did not, the heart to continue. He never stopped trying to succeed even if he did lose all of his Wizard matches and was always the weakest, he wanted to succeed. Though some of the women Wizards said he should just go back to cleaning the Council’s floor and be a normal man, but he wanted to be like them even if they did not think he could be. Andromeda sat down facing the west balcony that looked out to the Plains of Nokala. He took a breath in, exhaling a few moments later and closed his eyes. Emptying his mind of thoughts he brought forth the essence of the spirit, the spirit of himself and gazed upon himself. The deeper one goes the closer one sees themselves in the pure light unprotected by all that we shelter our own selves from. It was from seeing the reflection could the self of magic be seen and given strength beyond what its state originally was. That was the theory at least and why mediating was important to improve magic, finding ones self and seeing our own reflection was a connection that brought each wizard closer to that of what was truly magic’s core. Though it was all theory and many were rather skeptical about it, but it was the foundation that magic had been based on, so it had become belief and few would question it. He tried to focus his mind, but whenever he came to see himself he always seemed to pull back, something seemed hidden that did not want to be found. He would continue to try, but with little success each time and would have to be satisfied with just being able to reach the surface. Coming out of his mediation he had sense a familiar aura enter in the room. It was Omuna, she was in many of the same classes as him, since she was also interested in being a battle wizard. But she was very aggressive at times, which seemed unusual for women. He could not understand why, though it seemed she took it out on him a lot. A fireball came across his shoulder as he turned to see her hand raised at him. “Stand up I need practice before today’s test.” “Miss Omuna, please…” “Andromeda shut up and fight me.” “Miss Omuna, no I can’t.” “Grrr…” Omuna’s palmed glowed again as magic drew into her palm forming another fireball. Andromeda stared watching her build up power before releasing it upon him. But he blocked it with a shield spell that he had ready, however she was stronger than he was by a lot. He would not be able to hold out for long against the attack, it pressed against his shield forcing him backwards. His feet slipping on the stone floor, he could see her grin as she watched him struggle. There were few options he could see except, the balcony. The balcony behind him would be safe, it was the one facing the plains. He dropped down to the ground releasing his shield letting the fireball shoot out the balcony into the sky. “Miss Omuna, please I have no wish to fight you, I just want to prepare,” he said looking up at her from the ground. She stood over him with her palm extended towards him. “Miss Omuna, please…” “You can prepare my way.” She gathered another fireball aimed at his head, he would be unable to get a shield up to block the spell. He rolled to the side as the spell was released hitting the stone floor and being absorbed into the rock itself. Andromeda rolled to the opening of the balcony and came up to one knee staring at her. ”Why did she have to come today. What did I ever do?” She gathered yet another fireball, but this spell was different. He noticed it took longer for her to gather the magic and then he realized what it was. “Chi Nea Hona!?” he exclaimed. “Yes.” It was a variation on the fireball spell she had been using, but it allowed her to cast multiple fireballs without recasting. He stood up preparing to dodge the fireballs as they came at him. Diving down to the floor he dodged the first, but had to roll to avoid the next. Then coming out of the roll he stood up and flipped backwards to avoid the next several sessions of attacks. “Some say you have the grace of a woman, I wonder…” “Huh?” He was paused by the sudden start of dialogue and was distracted being left unable to avoid the final fireball. It hit him directly in the chest knocking him to the ground and backwards sliding against the stone till he hit the stone pillar of the balcony. “Ahh!” He ached from the spell, it had knock the wind out of him, but not seriously hurt him other than his head that now was throbbing from pain. A few strains of his hair fell across his cheek as he saw Omuna walk away. “She seemed energetic today,” said someone. Andromeda looked up to see Colerin standing above him. He reached down to give him a hand up off the floor. Colerin was a Hemerataq and his best friend since he joined the Wizardry school. “I’ve heard that the children of your race sometimes act angrily towards ones they like as some sort of strange denial of the truth and to make others not think otherwise.” “Well we aren’t children, and if that is how she says she likes me I don’t want to see her angry,” he said laughing. “Just a theory anyway. Here.” Colerin handed him his hair tie that had come off in the fight. “You aren’t the same with your hair tied back, might mistake you for a woman,” he said smiling. “Hehe, yeah I’d be in even more trouble then.” He tied his hair back and dusted himself off, his robes were still in one piece. The fireball had not done much more than rip a few threads on him, he had been lucky could have been worse. He still had much of the day ahead of him, he did not want people to think he had been fighting. “Well class is going to be starting soon and Master Nolat will be upset if we aren’t there on time.” He started back to the telepoint with Colerin, they both left heading to class. Though he still wondered why Omuna had attacked him and if the Magetary’s daughter was around here somewhere. It was a large school though, so she may not even be in the same building as him. He would find out soon enough, the day was only just beginning and it was already making itself a day he would not forget. (OCC: ^^ I type anymore and I would have been a triple post. ^^; ) Last edited by Andromeda; 01-13-2005 at 05:27 PM. |

The day that Celerina had been expelled from her pack was a dark and gloomy one. She had never been in so much pain in her life before, and didn’t know what to do right then. It was all for a silly reason, her being kicked out. It was smoldering hot one day, and she couldn’t take the heat with her fur, and on a whim decided to shave it off from her body so she could cool herself down. Though when her father, the leader of the pack, discovered her human like appearance, was furious with anger that she would do such a thing, even if it was very hot. He couldn’t understand the heat she was going through, because he was strong and endured every bit of it as if it were nothing. There was no possible way he could understand the stress she was under to endure the heat with her young, female body. She just couldn’t stand the heat and he got so angry with her for shedding her Wolten pride to the ground in pieces. He was so torn by her actions that the only way to repent for her actions at the time was to ban her from the pack. When he brought the news to Celerina, she broke down in tears before him, which made it even harder for him to banish her that night. Seeing her sobbing her heart out also made him feel in pain too. She didn’t understand why he had to go and banish her for such a small thing as shaving off her fur. He kneeled down with her, wiping the tears from her eyes just long enough to tell her that she is still young, and does not fully understand what it means to remove one’s fur from themselves. He said that someday when she grows older, that she would understand a bit better why he had to banish her. That night, all she could think about was leaving all of her friends and family to be alone in the vast real world. She wasn’t sure if she could survive on her own just yet, but she knew she had to, for her own sake.
Soon after her ban, she traveled the country, learning various fighting skills from different village dojos. With time, her body had gotten used to being bare skinned and wouldn’t grow fur any longer, which was a relief to her because she wouldn’t have to shave herself. While staying at a village, she overheard some ladies talk about the Great Council City and the Magic School for all races. It was said to have been established for people to learn about their untapped magic resources within themselves. It was said everyone had magic inside of them; it just needed to be controlled and put to good use. She decided to enroll in the school, not only to have a new place to stay, but to also make new friends and not live in loneliness anymore. That was 8 years ago. Now she is a beautifully built girl with long, silver hair flowing down to her mid back. Her mystifying blue Wolten eyes and her dog-like ears, and her strong, agile legs were the only features she had left of her Wolten heritage. Being human-like in appearance, she had to find a way to get some clothing, and while walking through the city streets, she happened to stumble across a clothing shop for women. She walked in the door and the chime rang throughout the room. The few people in the store looked to the doorway to see who had entered, and to their amazement was a human-like Wolten girl in a dirt ridden robe. Celerina looked around the store for the clerk, but found some clothing she liked in the mean time. A top she found was a combination short sleeve shirt and vest, with blue and silver colors, ironically to match her. She had also found some pants and shorts for the cold or warm weather. The shorts would go halfway down her thighs, and the pants only went down to her ankles. They were the color black, which was another one of her favorite colors. Though normally the clerk wouldn’t allow clothing to be taken for free, Celerina offered to work in the store to pay off her clothing needs, and also for something to do. The clerk looked in her pretty eyes and couldn’t find herself to say no to such a young girl. Why she appeared as a human, the clerk would never know. So in the present time, she is in her 8th year of apprenticing at the Magic School, and had befriended a fair amount of various people throughout her years. Celerina had been working at the clothing shop ever since she had begun her attendance at the Magic School for all races, which was coincidentally eight years ago. The clerk was proud of the young Wolten girl who attracted so many customers to the shop that the business was booming more than it had in so many years. However, during school, Celerina had met a newest friend who was a beautiful looking boy by the name of Andromeda. Though she did not know him as well as she wanted to at the time, she knew that with time they would be the best of friends. Even though she had friends, she did not lack in the rival department. A very few percentage of the girls who fought with her were fearful of her skills and tact in the battlefield. She was far more advanced than any of them were. Maybe it was because of all her time spent in the wild those years before. Thanks to the power in her legs, she was very agile and would very rarely get hit with a spell. The only girl to be an even match for her was a fellow Wolten girl by the name of Sarak ‘Nial. Celerina and Sarak would normally switch off victories with each other fairly frequently. Though, it was blatantly obvious that Sarak had hatred for Celerina within her, but also respect for her skills in combat. She was the perfect rival, and an even more perfect enemy. During an ordinary stroll through the school halls, Celerina and a human girlfriend of hers had been talking about what different techniques they use during their practice matches against other students. Celerina had discussed this newly found technique where she could summon the elements through a lucky sword of hers that has been given to her by her father. She envisions herself as a great warrior by aide of the element’s powers. “After fighting with Sarak so much, I realized that with both my magic and my lucky sword, I could inflict magical pain in my opponents with just a small incantation and a slash through the air in the direction of my opposition.” “Really? Wow, that’s amazing Celerina, but what if it was an official tournament or something sanctioned by the school where you could only use magic, and no sharp weapons?” “Tricia, I think that with my current skill level, I could succeed in my goal for victory with a staff as well. I would just have to adjust my tactics in some areas. But if for some reason I find myself being backed into a corner, I know I got your support for anything.” “Yep. I’ll root for you from the stands, Celerina, but look at the time; I think it’s time for our class.” “Looks like time flew by again. We better not be late today.” Celerina said to Tricia as they jogged down the corridors to their classroom, and took a moment to catch their breaths and straighten themselves, and calmly walked through the door to learn the day’s curriculum. |

Prrrrrrrr.......
A warmth held onto Sanura in which she did not wish to break. She was sleeping peacefully curled up on a poor made cot, the sun settling in her fur. "Mrrrrow" she yawned, finally rolling over, her hand and foot draping off the edge. Sanura blinked a few times, listening to faint conversations carried outside her window and downstairs in the lobby. "200, I'll give you 200." "350 and it's final!" "Eww, stop poking it!" "Oh don't be a baby!" The air wasn't typically chilly that morning, and lazily, she dragged herself off the bed and onto the floor, napping for two minutes on the cool floorboard. Life was comfortable. BANG BANG BANG. Startled, Sanura sat up straight. "Hey Kitty." a gruff voice commended. "The cow's ain't going to feed themselves." Sanura sat, contemplating the possible meaning of that statement. "Hey! You! You're not down here in 5 mintues, you're gone! Y'hear?" Sanura rolled her eyes. Oh yea, her job. It all came back to her, the naivete of slumber hadd gone. Back to reality. She quickly slipped into her orange day dress, and straped her twin mini-maces behind her back; then, reluctantly she left the room. Decending down the stairs, she saw a familiar chubby built man, frantically scrubbing he tables. When she caught his eye, he snarled, but remained silent. "Good Morning Sanura." a worldly voice greeted. The Kitra woman turned and met eyes with a older middle-aged woman. In respect, Sanura bowed her head slightly and replied, "Good morning Ms. Hendersdugt." The woman patted Sanura's paw and gently placed a folded piece of paper in her palm. "I require you to travel into town today and run these errand for me." Opening her other paw to recieve a bag of gold, the Kitra nodded and without another word, left the Inn. It was about a hour when she reached town, the village always bustling, the school bells chimed, and the people friendly. Sanura looked at the first item on her list and headed straight towards the local magic school in search of a woman to deliver a message. Stifling a yawn, she continued down the busy streets, stopping occasionally for directions and then wandering until she was stopped by a floral shop. Sniffing the delightful aromas from the displays, Sanura had to especially peel herself from the budding catnip plants. On arrival at the school, Sanura was thrown into awe and the majesty splendor of the building. Such exquiste detail and beautiful artwork! Proceeding into the empty hallways, she glanced quickly at the ancient clock on the wall. Suddenly, the bell sounded and student poured out of the class. In shear chaos, Sanura was overwhelmed by the energy and noise that so many individuals could form. After being pushed hear and there, she finally slammed into someone and toppled to the floor. Sanura rubbed her back and regained her stature. She stood up and glared into the icy eyes of a Wolten. Andromeda walked into Master Nolat’s class, it was the class that Miss Omuna had to be referring to in needing practice. It was a test day, they would have to show him what they had learned and he would grade them on their focus, strength and a few other elements of magic. Though it was more unique that Nolat was a Dragon, but he practiced shape-shifting magic which allowed him to take on a smaller appearance that was a blend of Hemerataq and Dragon. It gave him the size and stature to fit into the halls that were not built to allow Dragons to walk through, but he maintained a pair of wings that would show his Dragon pride. Some students said that he walked through the halls as a student sometimes to understand their needs better and remain connected to them despite their age and experience differences.
Being as such though Nolat was special for the school as he was the only Dragon Race Wizard to actually walk into most of the halls of the school. The few Dragon students there were would be handled on an independent study bases that gave them special needs. There were always few Dragon students because most of the Dragons were very old and the few that were born these days had other duties. The few that would come, would be of the Mystic Dragon Race, but as Andromeda understood it, most of them were trained by their own race and would come here for specialized training. So their classes were always specialized to the student and highly advanced. However, there were many Dragon Wizards that taught in the school, but their classrooms were in open areas or in the large auditoriums that were available. Dragons were said to be tough Masters, but very well knowledgeable, so many students would seek them out. Though it also made some pick a different Master’s class. Andromeda had found them to be fair and helpful with his training, though they would often tell him that he did not have as great potential as most students. It was a common issue most of the Masters had with him, he did not know what to do about it other than continue to try. He had been at the school for eight years now, most students would drop out by the third year, if they were going to. He had no plan on turning away from this, even if he was not nearly as strong as most of the students. The only main concern he had was if he would be able to continue his training to be a Master and reach the status of Ferm’Petna, reach Na’Petna would mean that he had finished his ten years of training at the school and would be required to travel the world and come back once he had decided he was ready to test for the Ferm’Petna level of Apprenticeship, that of Traveled Apprentice. But that would mean for him that he would have to leave the city and his duties. Would they let him go on his journey or keep him in service of the Council. Andromeda cleared out his mind, he could not afford so many conflicting thoughts at this time. The class was gathering together at the field telepoint and Master Nolat was about to tell everyone where they would be going for their test. Colerin was standing next to him talking to another Hemerataq about the fight that Andromeda had had with Omuna. He tried to look away hoping not to be brought into the conversation. “Really…how many fights does that make Andromeda?” the Hemerataq student asked. “Pardon?” he asked trying to act like he had not been listening. “Colerin was talking about Omuna picking a fight with you again. She seems to have it out for you.” “Oh, I don’t know Miss Omuna tries to make me fight her, I don’t know why she picks me. There are more worthy students that could challenge her.” “Maybe she likes you,” Naloroth said from behind him. Nalorith was one of the few other men in the school. He was exceptionally talented in magic and probably one of the strongest Petna at the Qel level. Andromeda admired his ability to control magic and his strength of determination to get into the school. Nalorith had told him, it had taken him three years of convincing to the women on the student approval committee to let him in, each time other women had gotten his spot. Though Nalorith kept coming back trying again, he said he was going to prove to all the women that men were as strong as them. He had a lot of pride as a man and had a lot to prove, though he often questioned Andromeda’s own behaviors in front of the women. He said that he did not have act like he was their servant anymore, that time had gone. But Andromeda did not really understand why he said it, he was showing respect to them, it seemed nature enough to him. “Haha,” Colerin laughed agreeing with Nalorith, “Yeah was telling him that earlier.” “Never know with women, they think really strangely sometimes. That’s why they think themselves superior,” Nalorith replied. “Nalorith…they might hear you,” Andromeda said, “You don’t want a fight to start before class. You know how Toramalica Nolat is about fighting.” “Yeah…” Nolat had said he did not approve of the fighting that existed between men and women. Said that it divided the people and weakened the race of Women, and though he could nothing to chance men or women’s views, he would not allow the politics of inter racial fighting to start in his class. It was a very sore subject that had caused many accidents in the years and resulted in the banning of several students. “It is time for the test class!” Nolat’s voice roared through the halls getting each of the students attention. “We shall be going to the Plains of Nokala today for our testing. Since we are practicing elemental skills, the weather on the Plains is perfect for the testing.” “Weather?” many of the students said softly through the hall, uncertain as to what he was referring to. “We are taking the West Nokalan telepoint class we will meet outside.” “West telepoint?” Colerin said. “But that is the farthest telepoint in the Plains, there is suppose to be a…” Nalorith started, but stopped. “What is it Nalorith?” Colerin asked. “The weather post signal I was listening to said that there was heavy wind storms near the West telepoint, that it was not advised to take that telepoint for the next few degrees.” “How long ago did you hear that?” “Four degrees ago, I think.” “So then it is over then?” “Maybe, it is supposed to be one of the strongest this month.” “I see.” “Nolat would not endanger our lives,” Andromeda said and stepped on to the telepoint waiting for Colerin and Nalorith to join him. He was a little nervous from what Nalorith had said, but there is not be any real danger, Nolat knew what he was doing. “I hope,” he whispered. “What did you say Andromeda?” Colerin said as he stepped on to the telepoint. “Nothing…” The three sent themselves to the West Nokala Telepoint where they could hear the wind howling through the stone station of the telepoint. Built open to the outside, the wind was blowing in through to the large room chilling Andromeda’s body. It was still very windy outside and he worried how strong it really was. He could see his robes being pushed around be the wind already. Though outside stand firmly in the ground was Master Nolat waiting for all the students to come out of the telepoint. Andromeda could see his clothes blowing, almost whipping around in the wind as the three of them began to walk out towards him. As they came closer to the outside unsheltered by the stone, the wind picked up catching him off guard slightly. His robes were blowing all over the place as Andromeda pushed down on his feet harder to keep his balance. The stone cover left him completely and he could now feel the full force of the wind. His hands were up over his face trying to cover himself from the dust and dirt in the air. Yet there was Nolat standing completely still unmoved by the wind waiting for the last few students. Once the remaining students arrived he raised his arms in the air as they started to glow pink. Andromeda could sense the power of Nolat increasing as he was letting go of his restrictions. The glow expanded around his hand and then his body, until it expanded around all the students. It was a shield barrier spell, but a hundred times the strength of what he had used against Miss Omuna. The wind was no longer blowing in the protected area. “I hate having to talk over someone,” he said smiling. The students laughed quietly, but quickly focused their attention back on him. “Now as you as see the wind is quite strong today. This will be your test of endurance and focus. How well can you push aside your fears and concern and bring your mind together with your magic core with even nature fighting against you. Your aim will be at the sky, you have enough to focus on that distance and a target will not be a concern. However, your final will be a target. So don’t think that this is your only trial. When I call your name you will leave the protection of the shield and walk to that hill behind me. There you can begin at anytime. Just remember there are eighteen of us and only have fourteen degrees. You have half a degree to prepare yourself.” Andromeda sat down as did the other students starting to mediate and prepare their minds and bodies for the test. It had not been the first time they were tested under extreme conditions, but this was the first time in a windstorm, different things to consider, mainly keeping a strong footing. He had been in the Ice Caves of Isol for a test of trials, which was hard, he had a cold for a week afterwards. He hoped that the wind would not get any stronger or he might fail the test, but he had to stop thinking and focus on the test. He started to clear his mind and bring himself to himself, to his core without reaching to closely. This was not a time to search deeply and be sent away, he needed to reach what he knew he could and bring that to focus if he was to succeed. He could feel the warmth of the core of his magic, his center to draw upon and focus. Everything would be ready soon, he knew the spell he was going to be using. It was a lightning elemental spell, and with the storm it might give him a better chance of succeeding. Though it would only be a simple bolt, merely a level one spell, as each of them were instructed to use. They had to pick an element they wanted to learn, explore and then learn the first level spell. Most students would decide the element that they planned to practice in the future, making this class their grounding in that element. Future classes would divide them up into elemental classes to the element that they had chosen. Andromeda heard the first name called it had been Colerin, he stood up to watch his outcome. He knew that he had to still prepare, but he wanted to give Colerin his support. “Good luck.” “Thanks,” Colerin said before stepping through the shield and into the unprotected plains of the wind. He had already prepared himself for the wind it seemed so he was not taken off guard by the wind’s initial burst. Though his clothes were whipping in the wind beating against him. Colerin pushed on to the hill, which was a little farther away than Andromeda had first thought or it could just have been the wind slowing him down. Once at the hill he paused for a moment, probably getting stable ground and preparing himself. Andromeda wondered what spell it was he was going to use, he had been rather secretive about the element he had chosen. He could see his hands glowing, it seemed as thought they were glowing white meaning was either ice or lightning element. His hands raised towards the clouds as it looked like he could ice and snow glowing around him. There was a muffled sound that the wind and shield filtered and then a blade of ice shot from his palm outward. He succeeded in casting the spell, though it looked a little small. The grade he would get would be on how strong the spell was, the time it took to cast, the focus and whether he succeed in casting or not, which was definite. Colerin started his way back to the shield when Nolat called the next name, “Andromeda!” “Toramalica.,” he said bowing and then walking out of the shield. He could see Colerin almost reaching him as he started to push out of the shield. The wind started clawing at his face and then his body and clothes trying to push his balance, but his feet were ready to use the earth as a bracer. Colerin was now next to him, “Congratulations.” “Thanks, good luck.” “Thanks.” Andromeda continued to walk towards the hill, each step forced to be firm and careful against the wind. He could see the hill coming up to him slowly, the wind changed directions suddenly breaking his balance. Knocked back a step he took a moment to get his footing to continue, ”Is me or the wind getting worse” He was finally at the hill he feet already tired from constantly countering each blast of wind that hit him. Andromeda was beginning to understand why Nolat had choose this as their test. He was not sure if he had enough to finish the spell. It had been hard enough for him just to get down the focus and right elemental connection. He had yet to establish the connection to the element that was needed to make summoning the element easier. Everyone had an open path in the element they could choose, though elements was not the only aspect or path that could be chosen. But for a battle wizard it was their main source of attack spells. Establishing an elemental connection was important in locking in, almost, the element that your magic core would tap. As such this generally locked out the elements and most of the spells that person would cast would tend to have a slight elemental charge to them, even if it was not an elemental spell. Though it was possible to seek other elements, it becomes harder the more established the connection is as well as the age of the wizard. It was way an elemental generalist was rare to see, but it meant their spells would never be as strong as they could. Andromeda placed himself into a momentary mediation to try to connect with his element and his core. He had trouble focusing though with the wind constantly forcing his feet to correct their balance. It took him longer than he thought to focus enough that he was confidant he could make an attempt in casting. ”Ok, lets do this.” He raised his hands to the sky, closing his eyes trying to visualize the elemental connection. It was weak he knew, but he could find enough of a connection to tap the element. ”Oh, Lightning come to me, Lightning Bolt!” His palms grew warm with the magic that was gathering making his palms glow. Sparks began to shoot in the air above his hands until coming together forming a small glowing ball of light that shot up into the sky. But just then a wind burst knocked his balance, he tired to bring his foot back but struggled against the wind’s force. He could feel his connect draining as well as his physical strength to endure the wind’s pressure. The connection was almost gone and the bolt was weakening until it faded away in the air. He sighed and started walking back to the shield against the wind. It was not nearly what he had practiced, though considering the circumstances he knew it was good. Though he saw Miss Omuna walking toward him and worried what she might do. He doubted that she do much since it was class, though she seemed more angry today than usual. “Nice try man,” she said sarcastically. “Miss Omuna,” he said softly as he continued on by her returning to the shield. He sat down with many of the other students that were still mediating until their turn. It would be a long wait for the rest of the students to finish, which would give him time to regain his strength. Though it had only been a short time out there seem like ages, his legs were sore, from all the extra pressure and had almost given out on him as he reached the shield where the pressure of the wind was no longer on him. The sudden release had almost take away his balance as he was over stepping. Time passed by as one student after the next stepped up to the hill cast their spell into the sky and returned successfully. All managed to finish their casting, but the strength was varied. Some were stronger like Nalorith’s and Miss Omuna, and others were weaker. Though everyone was now an eighth year apprentice, so they would probably not had failed. The test was more to see the progress made so far, how well they were doing in their studies and who needed more help. Master Nolat released his shield and the students walked back to the telepoint, some still recovering from the test. Andromeda, Colerin and Nalorith entered together and returned to the school where Nolat stood waiting for all to return. Andromeda was glad to have the test finished and back on more stable grounds, the windstorm had given him an appreciation for nature. It worried what the test would be like for the final, focusing on a target took even more concentration. “You all have completed your first trial for my class. Congratulations to all of you for completing the task. Expect more trials in the future, grades shall be posted tomorrow. Class is dismissed.” The students began to leave the hall going their own ways, some even returning to the telepoint to go other places. Andromeda had a few degrees before the next class, it was advanced magic theory and practice, so he would not have to push himself too much more for the day. He had to first talk to Master Nolat about his future absence. The crowd of students slowed him down as Nolat began to walk away from the students. “Master Nolat!” Andromeda pushed through the students meeting the Master at the end of the hall. “I need to speak with you for a moment, if I may.” “Is it about the test?” “No, something else entirely.” “I’m listening.” “I’ve been requested about the Magetary of the Women’s District Magic Council to being her daughter’s escort on her travels to a village nearby. I am afraid that I’ll have to miss your class for a day or two.” “I see. I had heard you worked for the Council, but I did not know you would be giving an escort duty. Is that not the job of the Council guards?” “Yes, it is, but the Great Council is returning in a few days and its seem the guards are busy prepare for their return.” “Well, duty of your race calls you. We will be going over the test next class for improving and I shall be explaining techniques to improve concentration. Its an important day, I hate to see you miss it.” “I am sorry, I wish I could it would be valuable for me. But I can’t turn the Magetary down.” “No you can’t. I wish you a safe journey then.” Andromeda bowed to him and turn around to find Colerin in front of him. “What is this I hear about you being absent.” “Duties for the council.” “They work you too hard, sometimes I think.” ”It’s the only job I have and it gives me a place to stay and food to eat.” “You’re right. Best of luck to you then.” Andromeda’s eye caught Celerina as he was seeing who was in the hall. She had been near by, probably heard the entire conversation, the Wolten ears were keen to sound he had heard. He did not know her too well, though she was the only Wolten that he had seen other than on the council. So he was never too sure about their appearance, he had wondered about her having no fur and thought that maybe the female Wolten do not have that much fur as opposed to the males. He never asked though, because he did not really care, it was just something he noted as different. Andromeda walked back towards the telepoint and wondered if she would stop him or not… (OOC: My post takes places after Shadow's and before yours Soyokaze. Just so you know where it lies.) |

As Celerina was walking out her classroom door, her Wolten ears had heard a conversation between Andromeda and one of his professors about his upcoming absence because of an escort assignment to a nearby village. She thought this was a keen time to get to know him. She had thought about walking up to him, and talking to him about this mission of his, and convincing him to let her tag along with him. Besides, she knows how he is with magic, and he alone will not be enough to escort someone. With luck, Celerina notices him making eye contact with her for a short while, and that was when she made her move. She walked toward him while he was walking toward the telepoint and had caught up with him before he made his final steps through. “Hi Andromeda, I’m glad I caught up with you before you left.” “Hello Miss Celerina, what did you want with me?” “Well, you see, I overheard your conversation with Master Nolat, and I was wondering if you would like some company other than your escortee. And another thing, I don't like being called "Miss", so you don't have to be formal to me if you don't want to.” “But, what about your classes? Have you asked your masters?” “Oh yes, I did. I cleared out my schedule just for this opportunity to get to know you better. Besides, you’re going to need some more help. I’ve seen your skills at magic so far, and they’re not really fit for a serious battle. So I decided to be your bodyguard, so to speak.” “Thank you, I think…” “I’ll go home and get ready for the trip tomorrow, so when you're ready to leave, meet me at my apartment. I live in the clothing store halfway down the city block.” “Alright Celerina, I will see you tomorrow.” “Sounds good to me, darling.” She said to him showing a flawless smile, and walks away from the telepoint to head to her apartment to gather her things. As Celerina was walking down the hall, an onslaught of students ran out of a door, nearly catching her off balance. She then saw a female Kitra student falling to the floor from the sudden rush of students. Celerina walked over to her to see if she needed help. She bend down and lent her a hand, and as the Kitra looked in her icy blue eyes, Celerina couldn't help but blush a little and glomp her. "You're a cute one, you know that?" she said to the kitra girl. She dusted the girl off and smiled to her. "I gotta head home right now. Be careful today, hmm?" she said as she walked down the hall, to the exit. She opened the doors of the Magic School and took a light jog from the entrance to her apartment across the street from the clothing shop, which was halfway across the city. As she jogged through the sidewalk, she could see the wonders of the city all around her that never seem to grow old with time. They always impress her each and every time she looks upon them. The glowing light of the sun tanning her skin, and with the upcoming trip, will be the first time in a great while that she would set foot outside. She remembers vividly the day she came in from the outside, appearing like a woman. She collapsed from exhaustion from hiking all that way across the country. A few men walking by the entrance happened to see her collapse, and brought her to the nearest health facility. The doctors there discovered that she was not a Woman, she was a Wolten. Why she didn’t have any fur was beyond them. They thought she might have had some skin disease or such, and didn’t bother asking her themselves. She woke up on the bed wearing a brown robe. It wasn’t clean, but it wasn’t that dirty either. Celerina got up from the bed and stretched herself while yawning. She noticed there were slippers by her bed, so she slipped those on and looked out of the room to see if anyone was around. There was no one around. She walked out of the room and looked down both sides of the hall to see where the exit was located. She saw a man nearby and asked him where the exit was, and as he looked to who spoke to him, he was nearly awestruck by the young beautiful girl that had spoke to him. He was nearly speechless and could only manage to point behind him to a sign located at the very end of the hall. She nodded and said “Thank you.” Celerina walked toward the end of the hall, noting the exit sign above her head pointing left. She walked to where the arrow pointed and saw a light, leading outside into the city.
