No Easy Goodbye

She didn't want to ride with him, but that was the only choice right now.

The restaurant seemed like such a peaceful place inside. Old men having breakfast and playing chess on the tables, people with their kids, young couples stopping for a quick bite only to get back in the car and drive on to the next state on their long, but planned, trip. It was nice to see some smiling faces, especially those of her family.

Ginger walked over to the table carefully. She knew the strange man would be waiting outside, watching her. She spoke softly and only to her mother.

"Who was that man?!" Her mother exclaimed before Ginger could get out a single word.
"Mom, please, not so loud." Her mother could read the seriousness and fear in Ginger's voice. Ginger set the car keys down on the table.
"The car's not far from here. Seminole Lane. Take it and go to your sister's. I can't say much because the man outside is watching me, but I have to go. I promise I'll find you, later."
"What's going on? Where are you going?" Her mother grabbed her arm, concerned of her daughter.
"I love you, mom. So much. So, so much." She kissed her mother lightly on the cheek and left small tear drops. Her mother fell silent. "Take care of them. I promise, mom, I'll come for you. But you must stay here."
"What the hell is going on, Ginger? What is this?"
"I don't know! Just stay here until I leave! Be careful! I have my cell phone."
"Take care of yourself."
"You know I will. I love you mom, more than anyone else."

She left the restaurant reluctantly and got back on the bike.

"Are they--"
"JUST LEAVE!" Ginger said, interrupting him. He pulled out of the parking lot and sped away from Denny's.

occ- lol, i thought this RP actually died. Thank God people still post. Btw, Im gonna try to do something but I still dont know why the bad guys want the teenagers. I need help on that.lol

Sara was approached by a young man who introduced himself as Gary. She gave him a faint smile. Her mind was too preoccupied to even tell him her name but shook his hand anyways.

"So.. you got dragged into this too eh?" Gary asked her, he was obviously uncomfortable of the silence.

"Yeah I guess. By the way, my name's Sara." she finally replied. Sara turned to look at the other girl with them and noticed the she was busy looking through her purse. The girl looked frustrated. It was a long day after all.

The other cop finally arrived with one of the teenagers-another female. Sara could not think of any reason why her boss would want these kids. It's not like he was 'desperate' for 'manpower'. What's so special about them?

"So what now?" Sara finally asked. She could tell that the others would want to ask the same thing to the 2 cops. Gavin was about to say something when a deafening explosion occured, the blast was a bit far from them but it was enough to shatter the glass panes in the station. They all went down to the floor on instinct. Sara covered her ears and there was a cloud of smoke all over the place. The fire alarm was sounded and the sprinklers went on.

"Everyone evacuate the building now!!" one of the cops said. Gavin and Leon quickly led the teenagers out of the building as fast as they could. The explosion was huge, but not enough to blow the place up. Hopefully there were no casualties.

They finally made it to the parking lot all of them looked shaken. Sara knew that there was nowhere to hide. She had a bad feeling that their situation had something to do with the explosion. She knew her boss wouldn't stop at anything. He'll get what he wanted, whatever it takes.

"It looks like there's no safe place for us anymore Gavin." Leon said to his partner.

"I think I know of a place...there was an abandoned house a little far from here..." Sara said. Her voice was shaky, not because of the explosion, but the guilt feeling that she might lead these innocent people to slaughter. She knew of a safehouse in the suburbs-- It was one of her boss's headquarters and was secluded and very far away from the city. No one stayed there for as long as she could remember. A part of her hoped that it was really abandoned as she thought it should be.

[Climhazzard]

"Shit," Gavin yelled when the explosion occured. "We've been spotted by the enemy. "Let's get out of here!!!"

Once everyone was outside, Gavin checked over everyone to make sure they were ok. Sara spoke up and said she knew of someplace safe to go. Gavin nodded his head and looked at Leon. They both knew the seriousness of the situation.

"Ok, Sara you ride with me at point," Gavin said. "The other groups of teens will be in the middle, and Leon you bring up the rear." Gavin looked over at the group of teens and nodded to each of them. "Once we reach somewhere safe, I'll tell you why and what we are doing. But I will tell you one thing now. Me and Leon are not cops like you think we are. We work for a top secret government agency. That's all I'll tell you now. Let's go."

Gavin jumped on his bike and pulled Sara on behind him. He looked over his shoulder and winked at her. "Just tell me where to go."

Gavin and Ginger pulled up on Gavin's bike. Ginger looked a little upset but otherwise okaxy, which I was relieved about. I joined the others, realizing maybe I wasn't the only one upset by all of this. I was about to ask what the hell was going on when someone asked it for me. Gavin opened his mouth to answer as a deafening explosion sent us all to the ground. The earth shook beneath me and debris rained down on us as smoke and ash filled the sky. The building behind the station was in flames, alarms screamed and after a few moments the wail of a fire engine sounded in the distance. I stood up, brushing myself off and checking to see that Ginger and Gary were alright.

"Shit!" Gavin yelled, "We've been spotted by the enemy. Let's get out of here!"

We all stumbled out to the parking lot as people began pouring out of the station, looking shaken.

"It looks like there's no safe place for us anymore Gavin." Leon noted, staring up at the smoke and flames that were consuming the building.

Sara, the woman who came with Leon, said she knew of a place to go. I was surprised how calm she seemed. Gavin gave the orders and we all piled into the cars again, Sara on the bike with Gavin out front, Gary, Ginger and me in the middle and the other man, Leon, in his Corvette taking up the rear. As the silence settled in the car my heartbeat slowed down. I felt like we should plan some sort of revolt, to escape, and at the same time I felt like we should be figuring out how to help, so I voiced neither and the car lapsed back into silence.

The explosion had caused the ground to shake under Gary, bringing him to his knees. Fire blew out of the windows on the main floor of the building closest to them. Shards of glass rained from the sky, shattering on the ground. Gary brushed himself off and stood up. He quickly check if everyone was alright, especially Ginger.

"That's trouble.." Gary gasped, staring at the flaming building just moments away from them. Sirens sounded in the distance as a response team made it's way through busy traffic.

"Shit," Gavin yelled when the explosion occured. "We've been spotted by the enemy. "Let's get out of here!!!"

Gary just lost faith in both the "Special Agents" They all could have been killed.. They had better start doing their job or Gary was going to make his escape. He'd certainly be keeping a better eye on the situation.

The gang was all grouped together and headed out to some abandoned country house. Gary had grown up a farm boy, he figured he could make his way in the woods if necessary, hopefully his skills wouldn't be required. Something was going down and he intended to find out, with or without Leon and Gavin.
