Iron Maiden?

I see them on the 14th December with Luke (Surion) and another mate called Nik.

Iron Maiden are one of the best and most renowned bands of all time. They get the credit they well and trully deserve.

Favourite album anyone? Powerslave for the win!

HA if my mate saw that he'd kill you Trivium are his favourite band , I dont particularly like Trivium either but anyway this is aobut Iron Maiden hehe my favourite song by them is Run To The Hills. I know its a common song but its the song which got me into them and its awesome

Iron maiden is alright. I like thier song, "Run to the hills." I think thats the name. The song is good.

Yup, Maiden's good indeed. My favourite album would have to be Piece Of Mind. The Trooper, Flight Of Icarus, etc. All A+.

Hell, I even like Fear Of The Dark. Actually, it was a really good album, despite its bad reputation. The title track is haunting.

I think the best songs they've done are 'Aces High', 'The Trooper' and 'The Flight Of Icarus'.

Mind you, every album Iron Maiden so, they never cease to amaze me.

I dont have a fave album but my fave songs are 'Fear of the Dark' and 'Dance of Dead' and 'Ghost of the Navigator'

Iron Maiden. Heavy metal gods. They are one of the greatest bands in rock history. I seen them in concert twice and they kicked ass. Bruce Dickenson kicks huge amounts of ass.

I'm a hige fan of Iron Maiden, they are a bloody fantastic band. My favorite song would have to Number of the Beast or Flight of Icarus. As for a favorite Album, I enjoy all of them the same. Iron Maiden is a truly wonderful band that had deserved every ounce of credit they've gotten.

As with bands like Slipknot, KoRn and in my case Dimmu Borgir though on a much Wider Scale... Iron Maiden is one of those few bands that are praised more than they are made out to be. Sure they have a few good songs, but they're not that great and there is heaps of other bands out there that I personally find much better. In saying that I occasionally listened to Seventh Son but overall highly overrated. If you like them then may I suggest Manowar and Yngwie Malmsteen.

I wouldn't compare them to Manowar, nor do I consider this band overrated. For the former, I may not have taken a correct sample, but what I've heard of Manowar has been purposely (I hope) lame in the lyrical department. "Brothers Of Metal!!!!!!" Whereas Maiden has far more complex lyrical themes along with some excellent historical epics.

As for being overrated, you have to keep in mind that they're one of those founding bands. Any band that helps to found or redefine a genre gets special attention for that reason. You have to take it with a grain of salt. I've found them to be quite good though.

Actually Judas Priest were the founding fathers formed in 1967 where as Iron Maiden were formed in 1975. Actually I would say Manowar is a good example of the over-exaggeration worship of bands like Iron Maiden, kind of a joke though like I said earlier some bands can pull it off where others can't. I've only hear Hail To England but it is one of the best cheesy albums I've heard in quite a while.
