Favorite Demos/alternate mixes

Sometimes a demo of a song is better or more enjoyable than the original, same for remixes and mash-ups. I'll try to list one of each.

Don't Get Lost in Heaven (Demo version)
Gorillaz
This version is a lot more fun to listen to than the original and you can hear some of the lyrics better. Though the album version is prettier, it's easy to laugh at this version.

Dreaming (Visionary Remix)
BT
I heard the mix on an AMV. Just search for Visionary on www.animemusicvideos.org and be careful-it can cause epileptic seizures!

Faintly Toxic
Britney Spears/Linkin Park
Take the only worthwhile song she ever did and mix it with Faint from Linkin Park and you get a pretty awesome song. Ode to whoever made this mash-up!

The Eternal Idol demos by Black Sabbath. These demos had Ray Gillen on vocals instead of Tony Martin, and his voice suits the songs so much better (I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Martin's vocals)

Apparently Tony Iommi has a version of Eternal Idol which was actually mastered and ready to go into print, but I doubt we'll ever get to hear that one...

The thing with the type of music I listen to, more often that not the Demo is much more enticing than the full length albums. In fact a lot of my bands never release a full length all together. Anyway these are some that stand out to me

Paysage D'Hiver - Paysage D'Hiver ~ All though this is there 3rd Demo I feel this is the self-titled released. All of the demos are of value but personally I think this is the best. The quality sounds like it was recorded in the snow then onto another tape but thats what makes it so great in my eyes. Like most BM is its sound with violins in the backround, it is a true gem imo.

Graveland ~ Drunementon ~ Like the PDH demo, this recording is of similar quality, perhaps even more faint if you will. But instead of sounding like it was recorded in the snow it sounds like it was recorded on an Old Record player and reminds me personally of the 1800s with the Church bells. Most of it sounds just like intense drumming but I quite liked it

Beatrik ~ Flames ~ Unlike the other 2 this has a much better sound quality. Both the Beatrik demos and their first album are fine works but Requiem of December sux terrible imo. The musicman ship of this is your typical BM as in it focuses more on ambience and atmosphere than technicallity but it still works very well. This Demo has a feeling of doom and despair with that feeling of a desire to fight, quite beautiful if you ask me.
