ive debated this with all of my fellow band members and maybe i should ask someone else, what kind of of guitar do you play, or if you dont what is your favorate guitar. which style do you prefer to play your guitar.what music do you like to play on your guitar, and such other. i play a gibson les paul, i like the way that it plas better than my fender(my first guitar)i play with my fingers more than i do with a pic manly because i play blues and jazz more than anything(im in the jazz band), i do play rock with a pic when i just feel like jamming out. my bass however is a black fender Precision 6 sting. i play mainly blues and jazz cuz i just love the way it sounds on a bass.

371 | daddy is sure to top in here and post his awesome guitar. I play on either of my 3. If I'm in a mellow mood i go on my Encore acoustic. If I'm in a razz around on clean sounding, I go on my Burns Marque. Or if I feel like cranking up the gain and playing some heavy stuff I jam on my Vintage Metal Axxe Wraith. But what I really want to jam on is Daddy's custom guitars ![]() Last edited by Dante; 08-04-2006 at 04:46 PM.

I've got an old Gibson Ripper (bass) and a Fender Precision (bass) myself. I've also got an ESP Viper, but I'm mainly a bassist so it does not see much action.

| | I play the mother of all guitars... The Squier Strat. Yeah Baby! LOL It is an entry level, cheap, poorly constructed piece of crap. I love it though. Its black, white, and still rocks the OE strings and pickups. I am just beginning to play and was told its a place to start. It is for the most part. The sound is fairly decent and really doesnt buzz all that much. It works for me. If and when I become more established,I will probably upgrade. For now, I will stick with what I got. ![]()

The specs of that goes through so many changes..Hell, I haven't even decided on the headstock yet. But, I do have custom guitars, to a degree. My guitars are modified to the point of customized, I guess. I'm paying off a Gibson Les Paul Custom Plus (50's neck, believe it or not), modern make (probably 04', 03') in heritage sunburst. When I get it, I'll change the nut to a Graphtech tremnut, give it a Superbridge, 0.13 to 0.62 gauge strings and a SD '59 in the neck and Custom in the bridge. It should own for cleans. I got a really great feeling when I was testing it out - it was like it didn't fight me. None of my friends who were with me got the same feeling. I can't wait to have it in my hands again. My main guitar is a Jackson Kelly (string-thru-body). That was the first guitar I really finished modifying. It has a graphtech tremnut, a Superbridge, SD Invader pickups (wired in parallel for more body), dimarzio 500k pots, Schaller locking machineheads (20:1 gear ratio), and strung with 0.10 to 0.52 gauge strings. Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. I used to have a Gibson SG Supreme. I don't really like SG's though. :| It was mostly stock and had the stereotypical wine-red paintjob. I have a Fender Stratocaster, believe it or not, but I don't use it/talk about it much. The neck feels like the devil to me...Well, it really just needs to be set up properly. I'd love to pick up a new Strat and Tele, though. Preferably an American Deluxe Stratocaster and a Nashville Deluxe Telecaster (three-pickup) in tobacco-sunburst or whatever they call it. I've had a real Fender-feeling lately. In the next few years, I'd like to set down a few custom orders for guitars. One from ESP for an EX (floyd rose, mahogany body, maple neck, ebony fretboard, set neck and a whole gaggle of other mods), one from Schecter (or I may not get one..Depends on some things) and a guitar from my guitar teacher's luthier - Michael Palm. He makes absolutely awesome acoustics, and he makes electrics too, so I figured I might as well get one where I can see it being built whenever I want. I have a Washburn 12-string acoustic I recently acquired (not sure when it's made). That guitar is damn fun to play - it has a dreadnought body, but the 'head' (i guess) is much tighter, so the sound is more focused. Huge body and volume but with a tight mid/high range. I love it. I play quite a few styles. Blues, jazz, metal, rock, prog, post-hardcore (believe it or not), punk (think bad religion), folk, funk are just a few off the top of my head. Lately, I've been really into blues - the expression guys like Muddy Waters, Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn get out of their guitars is just awe-inspiring. I'm going to be in the jazz band at my school (which is getting bigger, so it seems to be going for the 'big band' thing.) and I've been in a few bands...I just can't find any egos I can work with. If you hadn't already guessed, I play guitar quite a lot. ![]()

| | I have 3 guitars... 1 is good, 2 are sub-standard. The good one is a Gibson Voodoo SG with custom tuning keys, bridge, nut and tailpiece. The "other" ones are a Peavey Raptor I I've had since I was like 8, and a Squier Strat I got in '01. I mainly play death metal, but I've been known to play some 311 and other funk-type music.

| | I have had a couple guitars, but I will always be a Telecaster guy. A Tele through an all-tube amp Fender Twin Amp is probably the best sound ever. It makes all of my chords all sound rich and alive, and when I play lead notes they sound fluid, which is hard to do with a pick. I also drop down with my octave pedal, and it sounds amazing. My personal Telecaster is an American Vintage '52, butterscotch blonde, with the neck-dark, neck-light, and bridge configurations, versus the newer neck, neck-bridge, bridge pickups. The main reason I picked it up is the six saddle bridge, which I like a lot more than the newer bridges on Fender guitars. The only modification I did was to the truss rod, I had it adjusted when I went from the stock .10s to .08s.

70 | I had a Paul Reed Smith guitar but gave it to my brother who probably plays more than I do, but when I am active I still use my handy Fender Stratocaster with Peavey amps. I think the clarity on the guitar is clean and not so abrasive.

166 | ok, I've almost been playing the same guitar for 7 years now. It's a cheapy Squire Strat, that my mate found in the dumpster. That's right IN THE DUMPSTER! Musicians dream. but yeah, i rock at guitar, and I think I deserve a new one that hasn't been neglected in the past.

I have a Yamaha Encoure 6 strings and a colombian handmade (by a carpenter and louthier friend of my father) 12 strings. These i use when performing my accoustic shitx0rz I have an Aria Stratocaster mostly used in composing sessions and rehearsals; I also have an ESP M-II with Duncan Mics that I use when feeling that metal should own the house(this is my fave). When i feel Jazzy i pick up the Ibanez S470 which has a great clean sound, it ****ing rocks my world when i feel in the mood for soloing(which is very rare). I'm expecting a ESP LTD-AX250 which i ordered last month should be here, should be here in Venezuela next month. When i bass it out though i use an ESP VIPER 104, though as i'm not that good of a bass player i kinda keep it down, except for composing. I'm a picker all the way, although I can finger play, it's just not my stuff, i'd rather scrub a pick at high velocity than do nifty hand tricks when playing(applies for bass guitar, acc guitar and elec guitar). I play mostly downstroking, except when i need UBER speed and my usual hits aren't fast enough, then i switch to the standard up and down picking; i don't know why, i can do them almost at same speed and as i don't play really fast music normally i tend to keep my favourite style. It's just a matter of taste. Now something we haven't talked and that is very important for every guitar player: TEH ULTIMATE PLAYING POSE! Actually, i reahearse with my guitar really high, usually above the abdomen, but when i play live i like to lower it below my hips, because i like to play rising the neck vertically or in a high angle. It helps mewith my singing, or so i think
