Perhaps you're right... i really don't think they fall under the banner of glam rock though.

Why not? They certainly remind me of the antics of KISS, Queen and Spinal Tap - all considered Glam Rock (as their mainstay genre classification).

I am not drunk.

I dunno, it just doesn't seem very glam rock to me... i wouldn't say it relates to that bands (and ficticious band) either.
I think the idea of glam rock is coming from their fashion sense entirely... this group doesn't appear as overblown with the music though, the guitar playing is far more basic and stuff.
Or should i listen to more than one track?

The themes of the bands are certainly similar to glam rock. They do have some different technical stylistics qualities, most likely due to regions, but essentially visual kei is the Japanese glam rock movement. Glam rock can have some metal-ish riffs in it. X-Japan especially, in thier earlier works, have some definate speed metal qualities. Songs like Kurenai and Orgasm show this. But most of the others, and even X-Japan's more current works have very few metal qualities and are closer to alternative, and the aforementioned glam rock. Not to say that it's necissarily a bad thing. Who cares what the genre's called? You like what you like.

I am probably as enamoured with Japanese Culture as the next Yellow Fever Otaku. Despite that fact, I don't see what's so great about a bunch of feminine guys dressed up as chicks.

For some real good Japanese tunes, check this out: http://sound.jp/infectedmalignity

Let me see... A genre in which the bands use strong visual imagery and costumes to draw attention, and in which the bands really use themselves as a brand, selling all kinds of crazy merchandise.

Have you ever heard of Kiss by any chance?

Euclissence is a n00b - (lv 0)
ONE, their official website, you fools, is here:

http://www.silverash.net/

That geocities was made by a fan.

TWO, I don't think I called this anything new, I said I liked it. Which means EVEN IF you think it's like 70's 80's and nothign new, are you gonna go bash the retro bands too?

And BEFORE I start swearing at you, why the F*** did you label Japanese Glam as 'Jap Crap' and Western Glam Music as it is? I have suspicions that you have a bias based on descrimination.

THREE, Visual Kei is indeed revolved around the glam fashion, but with an extra touch of gender ambiguity and uniqueness for every album. KISS more or less had the same look, white and black and all, but Visual Kei has serious differences whenever they release a new album AND a gender ambiguity.

AND if you don't notice, bands such as DIR EN GREY and PYSCHO LE CEMU have been in the US touring, making big bucks, and SILVER ASH was schedules to tour in USA but was cancelled due to the SARS incident.

I think these guys have a chance to become something much better than what they are. The guy isn't bad at singing, the guitarist has some skill, the other two need some practice though. Plus they are somewhat new to all this, some bands took 10 years before becoming greatly recognized. I say with much more practice they could make something good. Currently though they just feel medicore to me.

P.S. - Don't mind the people here, there are a lot of metalheads and such alike that will bash anyone for liking something they don't. Yeah they cry a lot, "OMG THAT'S NOT REAL MUSIC! CHECK THIS SHIT OUT!" Blah blah blah. Though I don't think any japanese band will ever rival that of X-Japan.
