Working on a new project and need to know everyone's top VG song.

Hey guys.

Like the title suggests I have a new project in mind and you can contribute! Those who know me or my site: Classical Guitar Squared know that I am a fanatical classical guitarist who loves to arrange pretty much any and all things for the guitar. I never expected my site to have gained us much popularity as it has, and I feel like I should give something back to my fans, over and above what I already do.

That being the case, I've decided to post this thread to get an idea of the top VG songs that people love. I plan on taking probably 20 or 30 of the best, arranging them, and putting out a fan favorite collection of these pieces for guitar.

So I turn the mic over to you. What pieces move you? Excite you? Really stand out above all the others. If you can't settle on just one, give me 2 or 3. Keep in mind, though, that as this is for solo guitar, something like "The Extreme," from FFVIII is not going to happen, so keep them somewhat reasonable. Other than that let me have it! I'm interested to hear what you guys like.

A good place to start would be this thread. My top ten songs are right there, as are those of some other members. I think it'd be pretty cool if you could arrange all of the top three, but if you just want to do Burmecian Kingdom, I'd be fine with that. ^_^

Nice! Thanks a lot! I've already done your numbers 1,2, and 7. I'm not sure if they're up on my site at the moment as I lost all my work, I know gerudo valley is up there for sure. I'll look into these, thanks.

Well I don't know if I even have enough BS to fill out Loco's 10 fav intellectual thread, but I can give you one that would be good to do on guitar.

What about the Title Screen from Golden Axe for Sega Genesis? Remember that? Started out with alot of bass strumming it seemed, then went into this awesome riff with drums and such.

That would be a good one to hear on guitar. Or of course the legendary Prelude for Final Fantasy.

Ahh, probably the FFVII battle theme, or Beatrix & Steiners track from FFIX.

I LOVE Beatrix & Steiners theme ^^ I got it, anyone know its real name though?

The beatrix and steiner theme is called 'Protecting my Devotion'

I have the FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFTactics soundtracks and Vagrant Story is coming in about 3 days.

Vagrant Story possesses the most awesome game music in my opinion, but before i have that i go with my second favourite:

Final Fantasy VII ~ "You Can Hear The Cry Of The Planet" (City of the Ancients Theme)

i can listen to that track forever.

Also i know its off topic slightly but whilst a game soundtrack thread exists does anyone know:

If there is a Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack and does anyone have a link to where i could buy it?

~or know anyone who has the definitive track listing for the Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack?...i have mine named after a fan site, but i suspect a few mistakes.

Yeah there is a soundtrack for Shadow of the Colossus and it's FANTASTIC. Probably one of the best OSTs I've heard in a long time, the battle themes are ****ing EPIC.

There are no plans to release the soundtrack outside of Japan, although there are a number of torrents floating around for it on the net, and you should have no difficulty with either getting it on import, or ebaying it.

Fantastic soundtrack.
