I am saying this in as unbiasingly as I can - Sir David wouldn't be a good mod for this forum. Like he said, if this were a metal music forum, then yes. He'd do well.

Whats my rationale? Bias. Sir David is well-known at going into threads and denouncing any band that isn't considered 'decent metal/insert-genre-here'. Such bias isn't what, I percieve, this forum needs.

Actually he's right. Wikipedia is a nice source of information, but I'd certainly think twice before using it for a school paper (if I was still in school) On wikipedia they are currently discussing whether to merge stoner rock with sludge.

And honestly, if you can't hear the difference between Monster Magnet and Crowbar then you must be deaf.
Wikipedia has some great info, but take it with a grain of salt.

Well, Sir Kenneth, this particular article from Wikipedia is correct so Anomaly seems to have been ass****ed with a bit of "we-told-you-so."

If you can honestly listen to a real melodic black metal band like, Emperor and say that they sound alot like CoF, I'll be amazed at how bad your hearing is.

If you honestly can listen to Darkthrone and say that Cradle of Filth sounds similar than I'll be amazed at how totally ****ing stubborn you are to have to prove a false point.

I only fight this hard because I have sheer facts behind me, and any of the educated metal society will tell you that Gothic metal exists. So please, for sheer "pride saving" reasons, don't argue with me about this.

And you mentioned Immortal before? Hate to break it to you but the majority of Norwegian BM is a joke, the only original bands I ever took seriously are Windir Burzum and Darkthrone. I have had about a millions discussions on how much people hate CoF, and he seems redundant supporting/attacking them.

On a side note I do actual take my music and some of my beliefs seriously, I am just joking around with the BoD as thats what it kind of is about, this is not really the thread for this discussion but if you want we can start a new thread behind the deeper meaning.

Wikipedia has some great info, but take it with a grain of salt.

They're as accurate as any other encyclopedia. Obviously you should always have more than one source before writing a school paper, just to use your example.

Actually I was reffering to the "gay" insults and "Cradle of Faggotry" statements. But fair enough mate.

Norwegien black metal for the most part sucks, yes, but the same can be said about the rest of it. (And despite their ****ing RIDICULOUS appearance, Immortal made Pure Holocaust, one of the defining BM albums )

Cant stand Burzum. (I totally sympathise with Varg "I'm a knob" Vikernes for killing Euronymous though)

Back in the heyday of the NBM scene, it was one of the most creative areas of music.

You had Emperor leading the "Melodic/Symphonic" movement, Immortal being totally crazy and making bone-chilling music, Burzum making music that could bewitch anyone, Beherit making the most disturbing music you would ever hear, Darkthrone putting out some of the most solid BM ever, etc.

I agree, I don't see Dani filth raping any nuns, apparently he got rocks or bottles thrown at him at 1 concert. I mean Varg may be an overexaggerated "Aryan" (I do not use the term nazi cause he admires the polish and russians) but he wasn't all talk. It is a shame to see bands come along making a completely mockery out of BM, the only true suicidal depressive black metal band was Worship \m/
