MTV and MMUSA

Anyone else hate this channel? I remember when MTV was all music, all the time. Now it's all reality shows, cribs, pimp my ride, TRL, TRL, TRL, an hour of actual music videos. I do like some of their shows but I think instead of changing MTV the should have made MTV 2 with the shows and left MTV as a music channel. I hate TRL because they don't even show whole videos on there. on top of that you have to deal with screaming preteen girls giving shout outs to their friends and saying that "Insert artist here" is hot!

MTV even bought VH1 and is slowly ruining that channel too. When I lived in the staes I got a Canadian music channel called Much Music. I liked them better. They remind me of what MTV used to be.

Much Music changed their name to Fuse back in 2003 I recall.

I don't watch TV much these days but I thought Fuse did do a great service by interviewing bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Nile, and Obituary when no one else (especially not those pop manufacturing deities at MTV) would.

No they didn't...it's still much music. Unless they somehow changed it without my knowledge. Anyways, I don't get MTV up here, but by the way you descrive it, MM is just as bad. They virtually try to copy MTV. They have pimp my ride along with a bunch of other moronic shows. What music they do show is little and so mainstream that I honestly don't care that I don't get to see it.

I don't know how MM is now. The last time I saw it was about 2 years ago. Being in Germany and Iraq has limited my television viewing process. At least MTV2 is still all about the music.

I only get a couple of music channels (hooray for freeview), and they're both resonable channels, although TMF mainly shows marathons of 'Newlyweds', whatever that is. I usually stick with Q ditital radio, no videos, but theres no manufactured pop/rap crap either. But why, WHY do they keep playing those dumbass personal injury solicitors ads? It drives me nuts! Even TMF's doing it now, three songs followed by ten minutes of adverts, what's the point!

Theyre the channels i avoid nowadays. Does anyone remember when MTV used to show Celebraty Deathmatch? That thing with the boxing plastercine models? Aaah, good times! Now look at it. Continuous showings of the top 10 pop acts, and 20000 showings of boring reality shows.

Luckily MTV2 is my haven. Indie and rock. Few shows, lottsa music and it's introduced me to great bands. Zane Lowe's Gonzo is a great show, funny, band interviews, music videos and gives up and comming new bands a chance to show themselves. If it wasnt for them, where would Maximo Park or The Futureheads be now? (Well, it was NME's contribution too, but MTV2 had the videos)

The few decent channels left are this, VH2, Q (though its slowly becoming chavinised..nooo..) and The Amp if youre into Indie/Alternitive, and Scuzz if your into heavier stuff. Theres a few decent pop channels (i wouldnt know since i avoid them ) where they play music and no lame shows, but the famous ones are dead

Yeah, MM is now called Fuse, and still has a lot of music videos going on, and no shows, except for interview shows and whatnot. MTV2 has a lot of shows, though. They have 3 24/7 music video channels.
Hip-Hop, Soul, and Hits (or Jams, I forget.). So yeah.

umm much music is still much music in canada ...where it originated from...
but it may have changed to fuse in the US. but its unfortunate that MM is takin the side of mtv, and goig more about the popular bullshit gossip shit.
but they still have cool shows, like the punk show, the wedge and loud..oh and going coastal.
but other than that much music has turned to crap.

I don't think those channels will ever be the same. I think it's a sham to, I mean how far have we come from non-stop videos in the 80's, to the great Headbangers Ball in the 90-s, to pure crap now.

I like Pimp My Ride but I don't even watch it but maybe once a month. The station is just not what it used to be and I can't support it anymore. Hell, even when they show videos theyre only showing R&B anyway. WTF has happened to society??

I don't watch any of the other channels either, everytime I turn it past MTV or VHI, MTV is playing Road Rules vs. Real World stupid competitions between the old contestants and VH1 is playing "When ___________ ruled the World" or "What's hot of 1975, etc.". It's all lame man.
