Contradicting Sir David, I believe George Corpsegrinder Fisher-era Cannibal Corpse is the best band around. Ever since he joined their musical ability has become more diverse and more progressive with each album. I thought Gore Obsessed was a bit on the weak side, though I blame the crappy mastering, not the musicians (especially Alex Webster, best bassist ever!). Luckily The Wretched Spawn was a great comeback, containing some of their fastest tracks, such as Frantic Disembowelment, Cyanide Assassin, or Severed Head Stoning. It also housed some really technical tracks, such as Rotted Body Landslide or The Wretched Spawn.

Needless to say, I'm hyped about the new album, Kill, produced by Erik Rutan (ex-Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) which will be out soon!

I agree, Fisher is much better with Cannibal Corpse, but I can't deny the good years they had with Barnes, either. I know alot of people roast on the guy for going to Six Feet Under, but even SFU had some good albums (all but Warpath and Bringer Of Blood).

Actually, I don't know a single fan of Cannibal Corpse who didn't like Hammer Smashed Face. So I'm going to have to say, for my favorites:

Gallery of Suicide is their most aggressive album in my opinion, so I hope they will integrate some of that aggression with some Wretched Spawn style precision.

You know Corpse have well and truly run out of ideas when they decide to call their album "Kill"
I'm just shocked there isn't a song "Killed With The Kitchen Sink" on there.


I will say this for them though, back when Chris Barnes was heterosexual and was writing songs that were actually pretty grusome instead of "LOL, MOST BR00tal LYRICS EVAR!", Necropedophile still stands pretty high on the list of nasty lyrics.


The annoying thing is, I'm still gonna buy their new album, listen to the first song, and then be dissapointed by the entire album (CC have an unshakeable curse that only allows them to have one good song per album, with the exception of The Wretched Spawn. [The curse started somewhere around The Bleeding, coincidentally. Not that Barnes staying IN Corpse would have helped, they'd be as crap as SFU now if he had] That had 2. They Deserve To Die was an apology for making you listen to such boring "brutal" rubbish)

I never really understood why people hated SFU (the older stuff). True Carnage was good, as was Haunted. I don't know a single fan of the genre who doesn't know "Lycanthropy". But I'll agree, Chris Barnes has really gone down hill.

I honestly believe that CC's best album was Gallery Of Suicide. I don't think there was a song on there that I completely disliked.

Cannibal Corpse are boring, Alex Webster is a good bassist, but the drummer is terrible, i can play faster than him without even trying.

I will probably get the album KILL, because at the moment i have shit load of money, but there are a lot better bands out there than CC.

I agree with you there, Leviathan. There are alot of bands that are better that CC. I'm just going to bring my guitar and amp over to the UK and form a band with Leviathan which will make oceans boil and the dead rise soley to purchase our merchandise, which by the way, would be so far superior to any mortals that they would explode if a mere fabric from one of the shirts were to come with in 10 feet of them.

CC isn't the best band, but they are good. I think my band is going to put them back were they came from. But untile then, they are still one of my favorite bands.

I also think I am a better singer than Chris Barner. I am glad he went to SFU. On the other hand, I can sound just like Fisher. I might be better though. I don't know yet. I have to practice somemore.
