Yay for necro posts! Let's see... I gotta one more post in before the big 2-4-0-0... so...
The Richard Hedders. This is the band that I get drunk with much of the time (or members of the band; I've only seen them once, last year at St. Patty's. Couldn't make out the vocals over the guitars very well... I was pretty drunk.) They're what you might call a "punk rock," or "pop-punk" band. Unless you're one of those people who say that punk died with the Dead Kennedys, or something. Personally, if such is the case, I might describe them as "Drunk Punk." Yes, they get their own genre. This band has been going since the early nineties. Only one member from the original line up remains: Ben Nelson. Their singer, Eric Rollofson, used to be in the Ska band "Ten Dollar Mic," (which my brother was also in; it was named after a $10 microphone he bought.) Their third member, Jake, came in a couple years ago. I dunno what his musical background is. This band has been through a lot of line ups, however. Both my brothers and my brother in law have been in this band. My other brother also sings with them sometimes, and is the person referred to in Operation Handhold. He also has a nickname: Robot. Another local band is "Sum Bitch," an Alt Country band, I think. I would also describe them as "Drunk Country," probably. I also get drunk with these guys; they include Eric Rollofson again, and Hans and John (I don't remember their last names.) They are similar to Richard Hedders, lyrically. Mark Cleaver is a local artist, who used to be in a band called "Bendixon." His solo stuff also sounds like Bendixon used to, except it was more pop-punkie-type stuff. I believe he has talked about reforming the band, too. Wetsock is almost local. They're a ska band from Eugene; just down the road. I don't really know a lot about them yet; they recently sent me a friend request, and I accepted because I like ska, and they have a song about my man Bruce Campbell. That's about it. My friends also have a band that has practiced together, but they don't have any songs up and have never performed. This guy, a friend of mine from highschool, may or may not still be in their band. I'm not sure. He also has this with his girlfriend. (This is not what their band will sound like, however.) Anyhoo... Wuv, Yer Mom
