- Hehe, but at least you'll have much fun playing the game. :3"
I'll be careful not to let myself be spoilt. ^^" I hardly even look at the FFXIII forums. And I just see the titles of the topics, so... I should be okay. xD
Btw. I've only played about 6 hours longer than you did. Though I can play every single day xD
And now I wanna play FFXIII @..@ - Yep, you were right. I was quite busy with university stuff.
And now I'm quite unsure if I really want to be around here for the next.. let's say 2 weeks. I've begun playing FFXIII a week ago and I'm terribly afraid of spoilers. (I know some weird people who already played the game until the very end. O_o") - I'm not even kool enough to be concidered a lurker... I just talk to people I know and leave.
- To be honest, the battle system is what makes everything about this game feel..so..I don't know. That and the bosses riddiculously high HP. The Paradigm system is fun in some battles, but since the bosses takes SO LONG it takes away all the fun of it. Sure, if the bosses had lower HP, the game would be riddiculously easy, but if giving them insane amounts of HP was the ONLY WAY they could come up with making the game harder, I'm starting to wonder if it's really worth it.
And if you want to use an Eidolon, and the current character leader doesn't have one, you can't switch to one of the other members to use one. I don't know, I don't think it's that very well thought out and leaves lots to wish for. And so far it's been linear, I really hope you'll gain more freedom soon.
As for how voice acting and characters go, I'm quite pleased though. : > I really really like Sahszshzhz (don't remember how he spelled it, so I gave up) and Fang. And I haven't been exactly bored playing either. It's really just the battle system that brings it down for me. I love stagger mode though! End of wall of text rant.
Yes! I love huge world maps/vast worlds to explore, filled with secrets and sidequests. That's what FF's been to me, so I'm really missing it in XIII so far. But then again, I don't think we're that far into the story. We've just aquired two eloidons so far. Looking forward to those missions! And Gil. You barely gain ANY gil in this game XD it's insane, we always save our spoils for upgrading weapons. So we're always broke. 8( - Hooray! ^^ You'll love the battle system. The fights are tough, but if you know what you're doing, you won't have a problem. I will say this: If the game didn't automatically heal your characters after each battle, this game would have been nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get through. Haha... Yeah, I hear you on the school thing. I can learn stuff if I don't HAVE to learn anything, but when I'm in a school environment, I feel like the stuff is being forced on me or something, and I don't want to pay attention to it.
I bet if Square Enix did a revamp on FF X, they wouldn't have let us pick his name. Didn't make sense to me either, since it was the first FF to have voice acting. You would think that Squaresoft would have just kept it Tidus. There is one game that I played that you could pick the main characters name, but all the other characters would still call him his default name. Kind of weird that the game would give the player that option, but nothing would change.
The game was called Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, in case you were wondering.
Yeah, I liked the world of Spira, and Zanarkand was pretty impressive, before it got demolished. Not that you got to see a whole lot of it, but it was still amazing. ^^ I think that the world in FF XIII is pretty much a stark contrast to FF X. In X, there's not a whole lot of technological environments. There's a few, but mostly, everything is pretty natural looking. In XIII however, there's very little natural surroundings, and most everything is mechanized. It's not a bad thing, and I'm sure once I get further along in the game, that will change. No spoilers from me though. As for the camera in XIII, you can move it however you want, just like in XII! I think that XII was a little better in terms of actual exploration, because so far, everything in XIII has been pretty linear, but the story and characters are so good that I'm hardly complaining about that!
To be honest, I haven't come across any side quests yet. :| I heard that there are things called missions that are like the hunts that were in XII, but I think you have to get pretty far along in the game to do any of them. Right now, I'm focusing on getting my character's Chrystarium levels up so when I get to the point of free exploration and customization, I'll have a pretty even ground to work on.
- Now that you mention it, he does sound a little like Vaan. :\ I guess that's the teenage boy sound though. Yeah, I hear you on the older versions. You could make up what they sounded like in your head, and also what the pronunciations of some of the words sounded like. When something is said that sounds different than what you originally thought it to be, it's sort of throws you through a loop. It does for me anyway.

I just finished the part where Vanille was running through the forest! It was really nice. The environments are really something to see, and yes, very detailed. For the first part that I played, everything looks mechanized, so get used to see that until you get to the forest part that you seen. ^^ It's still really awesome though. - I too have been gone for almost 4, give or take 4 and 1/2 months. I've not the slightest idea what is happening here. I'm just checking occasionally at school.
- I really like them. The voice work is amazing and I think fits in very well with the characters. Hope sounds older to me than what I think he should sound like though, but the rest of the cast is really good. ^^ When you play the game, I would love to hear what you think though, because I honestly am not all that picky when it comes to voice work in games. If they just don't sound downright awful, then I'm happy.

- Ha! I was just about to send you a friend request after I replied to your VM, but you beat me to it!

- Wow. That's really cool! ^^ I'll bet he'll be happy that you remembered the promise from a year ago that you would wait.

I got it for the PS3, because I don't own a Xbox, but if I did, I would probably get it for the PS3 anyway. I'm not a console fangirl or anything, but I don't feel like changing disks when I play games.
I'm lazy like that.
I'll have to check on the japanese audio rumor. The only thing I did with the preferences is make sure that the subtitles were on, because I don't want to miss anything that is said in the game!
- You're waiting to play it until your boyfriend gets home? Awww.. That's really nice of you! ^^ I don't have that kind of self-discipline to not play a game that I've been eagerly waiting on, so you're doing a lot better than I would do.
Yeah, I hear you on being skeptical, but from what I've played of it so far, it's really fun! There's a ton of action going on in the story, so I had to take breaks every now and again so I could get in a breather.
- No worries. ^^ It sounds like life is keeping you busy, and it also sounds like things are going pretty good.
I'm glad that you haven't forgotten about TFF.
- Hey! I haven't seen you on in a while. Anyway, I saw that it was your birthday today, so I dropped by to wish you happy birthday!
- Now since you don't seem to know I'll take it easy on you. FINAL FANTASY TACTICS HAS A STORY THAT CAN RIP OTHER FF's STORIES TO SHREADS!!!! I think the original tactics(PS1) had an incredible story. It can even apply to political problems and debates now in real life. Even though it involves fighting Zodiak Deamons, it is still the most "real" final fantasy out there.
Yeah I was real happy with the voice actor for FFX and I think they left them both the same so it's still good. Some of the voiceless charecters such as Warrior of Light, Firion, Onion Knight have really good voices that I think match their personallity really well. Especially Firion who has the guy who played Lelouch on Code Gease, and he is a perfect match for Firion who is always on the rebel team fighting the royalties. The personallities between Zero(Code Gease reference) and Firion are almost the same.
I think you will be happy with Kefkas actor. The only one that I think suited the charecter but I was still not happy with was, Kuja. I know Kuja is really gay but he is just OVERLY gay on dissidia...I still respect him as a bad ass villan and a magick user who could probably counter Terra and Kefka. - Yeah, Kefka is a beast, thats for sure.
Y'know I just unlocked Gabranth and already leveled him up to lvl 46 and he's my new favorite! I knew he would be but I'm still impressed with his ridiculos EX attacks. I however don't like his voice, I think they changed it...It just doesn't sound right. Balthier and Setzer should go at it though. Their personalities are similar. Knowing setzer's luck Balthier would kick his ass but then setzer would get some wierd all or nothing attack and win by the skin on his teeth.
Man I still want to have some Final Fantasy Tactics characters...Delita vs. Ramza would be pretty awesome!
