Rule Question?

I know this may not be a rule at all..but are duplicate threads illlegal or in anyway considered bad? I've just noticed this a lot around the board and I guess It can just get annoying seeing two people posting threads about the same topic.

Yes. It's against the rules. It's the same idea as double posting.
You know what else is against the rules? Posting a thread in the wrong place. =P

just report the extra thread.

I originally was gonna put it in the FF VII room but i figured putting it in Gen. FF might help get some more un biased opinions towards the topic. I figured the good majority of the people in the FF VII room are fanboys or atleast fans of the game so of course i thought they would disagree with my claim. I guess I was scared of getting yelled at and having my reputation suddenly be like -100 million or something.

are you gonna move it then? I guess i could have it in both rooms but i'm sure that's illegal.

As of now, nobody has read it anyway. I'm not sure if thats cause they are too lazy to read it all, or if they are pissed off?

Actually two people have replied to it already. And I can't move it myself, I already reported it, so we just have to wait for the mod to move it. =P

Danmn you are right, in the time me writing the last post quite a few people have posted comments. I like the SD banner..i just noticed that was Angela! I don't really get it though, whoz the other chick? Looks like some fighting game character or something..

...to clarify, duplicate threads aren't "illegal" per se, but if one person posts the same thread in two places, THAT would be the same as double posting.

Posting a thread somewhere that someone else already created is annoying, and the two threads are generally merged or one is closed -- but it's not necessarily against the rules. Just a hassle, and nothing more than that. I'd still advise against it, though.

Yeah I kinda felt stupid cause awhile ago in general gaming i created a topic called "fighting game rpg" and very few people replied to the topic. Then somebody created a "tekken version of final fantasy" or something like that which was EXACTLY the same discussion as i created. I wasn't sure if it was against the rules or not though so i simply reposted everything into the new thread.

..haha i guess the naming of threads is something i have to work on.
