Yes, I'm stickying this, because no one has the common sense to read the announcement listed above, which contains the rules for posting here.

This doesn't just apply to me. THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE. No more malicious rules. No more threats, no more bullshit, no more fake rules that you guys like to post (like 1337 and Mr. T).

If you want to post the rules, you'll have to do it right. Simple descriptions. Humor is fine, but excessive sarcasm is not. As of this point in time, if I see any more rule sets being posted in our former fashion, you've got a warning coming to you. I don't care if it's because you haven't seen this (that's your own fault for not reading something that says readme in caps), or if it's because you're a mod and you think you have special treatment.

I'm also going to crack down a bit more on the unnecessary spam that comes from you guys. New Members is not a place for you to spam your eyes out simply because you don't gain a post count. Pre-warnings will be less frequent, and official warnings will become more prevalent. This is an area to welcome our new members and to set a good example. Things like "hi" or "" are ridiculous and don't need to be posted. If you want to welcome someone, at least put more thought into it than just hello. I know I enjoyed reading interesting replies when I first registered here.

Clean up your acts, or I'll clean them up for you.

Yes, yes, I KNOW THIS IS STILL OPEN. Stop telling me to close it. It's open for a reason. If there are any legitimate questions or concerns on the matter, I want them to be answered. Sheesh.

Some of our new members used to take excessive sarcasm poorly, as it isn't well-translated over the internet. When I get complaints from a bunch of people about the way they're being "treated" when they arrive, it doesn't float over very well with the staff. Keeping things clean just makes it easier for everyone. No one's going to misinterpret "Hey, great to have you here" as "OMG I H8 U U FUKIN NUB".

Get it? Got it? Good.

wow i was just on my way to post my newb introduction but now i think i am going to go back and reread all the rules again. I understand were your coming from though just way to freak me out lol i always get nervous the first few days on a new board i never know how the mods will react f i break a rule unknowingly but now i know do not rub you the wrong way.

Don't worry...he's mostly speaking to those of us who have been members for a while and should dang well know better than to treat the new people and the rules with disrespect. You'll be fine as long as you have a decent post that is on-topic.....basic forum rules apply....nothing too outrageous, really.

I feel absolutely horrid that I have to bring this thread back from the dead, but with the amount of spam regarding "rules" (especially rules that don't exist) as of late, it's back.

Post fake rules, get a warning.

It's that simple.

It's sad that I had to undelete a thread from 2005, but the reckless posting is disgusting.
