| The joke is far too true | There is a river like none other known to man long and dark swift and sharp where the souls of the dead flow in the bloody waters of their sin And across that river sails a single boat with a single stoic figure at the helm rotting fleash chisled bone neither angel nor demon bearing allegience only to the river (I will finnish this later) | ||||||||

| The joke is far too true | Today literature snippets takes extracts from the back of my english book, yep the poetry I did instead of working. Yay. Regardless these three poems were made to be structured in a similar style, as if the same person was telling them at different points of time. I'm not really that happy with how it came out I feel that they all work much better as stand alone poems but meh Spirit Am I here? Right beside you watching, waiting, hoping ... You can't even see me I am the love you lost A friend once living Unable to pass on to my rest Trapped behind the veil Please I beg you, see me, touch me I pray for release from this torture But in the end I'm alone, with eternity streched in front of me And the slow winding path to insanity Shade Can you see me? Standing here by your side ... No? I am your shade The dark reflection of your soul Ever changing, ever watching Stalking in you shadow But do not fear the flicker in the dark Though I can see I cannot touch Nor claw, nor gauge, nor rend your flesh Just a spectre tethered to your soul Void Nothing left Even the insanity has passed ... Why wont it end? What is the meaning for my pain Punishment, judgement, or was I just forgotten Cut adrift from heaven, hell, and all that lies between End me now! No, I am a nothing worthy of nothing Capable of possessing nothing Nothing to lose, nothing to gain And nothing is eternal Now I flip the page to let forth another stream of words. These poems don't really have a purpose or direction, no it's more like they're a reflection of my odd mood today. The topics fleeting, distant, almost whimsical. That's how they appear to me, strange and alien yet behind it I see my own thoughts. The last one though, oh I don't know, I should probably stop reading so many romance books. As yet untitled I don't want anyone to understand me To believe that they could just from my words or actions No, no , no, no, no, no, NO! It is vile, filthy, disgusting No one truly knows each other We just think we do And because of this we think we can help with other peoples problems And in blind stupidity we only make it worse Just accept it, it's not our place to know another's heart As yet untitled High in the sky, blinking down on us We all watch the stars Believing, as we do That friends and lovers long since moved away are staring upwards too Remembering us as we remember them Smiling in the light of an unatainable star And even if the star was snuffed out at that very moment We would never know We just keep smiling And believe the star is true As yet untitled 'Love me' she said Her eyes red and raw with tears Staring into mine A mix of anger and despair Her pain and anguish a mirror of my own And all I could do was to lean forward and whisper lightly in her ear 'I wish I could' | ||||||||

| The joke is far too true | The great doors were swinging open, the wooden frame gliding over the ground with a sadistic slowness. Tendrils of icy air were pushing their way through the growing gap between the two doors. Draug shivered as the frozen air danced its way across the small of his back. The outside was beckoning him. Drawing him on with a dark seduction. He felt his legs moving, his body following the movement like some twisted marionette. Pain coursed through his body as the world around him shattered, large chunks of colour dropping away into an inky void. The power that had been forcing him forward eased off and Draug stumbled to a halt. It was as if nothing existed, as if the whole world had been wiped away. Had he been taken with it? Through will power alone he raised his hand in front of his eyes. Flesh, bone, blood, it was all there. Neat and perfect, yet so fragile as if a single thought could wipe it away. But it was there, he was there. Reaching under his clothing he pulled out the book Serr had given him. With a trembling hand he began to flick through the book. It was blank, each page the same shade of yellowing white. He was alone; there was no one to help him. In the darkness something began to form. It was impossible to see any details; it was as dark and detail less as the world around it. But there was a glimmer of difference along its edge, like a distortion both there and not there. The thing began to move, shuffling slowly as if it were under some kind of restraint. Each step not only brought it closer but brought back the colour the world had once had. It was closer now; a child like form that looked painfully familiar. Draug watched as the things hair began to turn a golden blond, its skin a pale pink, and its eyes an emerald green. "Marie?" Draug whispered as he saw the image of his sister stumbling towards him. Tears flowed down the girls cheeks and she seemed to desperately gulp in air with every step. "Bro...ther" she mouthed, the words failing to rise from her lips. She toppled forward her hair streaming out behind her "Marie!" Draug screamed, running to the fallen body of his sister. There was a knife jutting out of her back, the clothing around it was soaked with blood. He lifted her slowly cradling her in his arms "Marie it's me, come on say something... Marie?" His voice was breaking up and his eyes were full of tears that ran openly down his face. Slowly he began to turn her over, he needed to see her face, to see a glimmer of life in her eyes. The eyes were vacant, dead. Despair gripped him, and he felt his entire body droop. His beloved sister was gone. "Such delectable emotions" A horrific voice rasped "But at best they will only be appetisers" Draug raised his head sharply. His sisters eyes had turned black and a cruel grimace was smeared over her innocent features. Shadowy limbs burst out of maries' body, each was long with a single sickle like claw. Her mouth contorted ripping away the cheeks as it opened and a long banshees' call issued from the torn lips. Draug staggered back as the monster rose above him. He dove backwards as the dangerous claws slammed into the ground at his feet, large clumps of frozen mud flying into the air. Draug scrambled to the side as the creatures second set of sickle bladed arms crashed down showering him in slush and mud. It stopped arms raised, the broken mannequin of a body smiling madly. "You like to squirm don't you, dancing round my blades like a harmless butterfly" the thing hissed pushing itself into Draugs' face "Why not give in and become my food little worm" The head flew forwards biting deep into Draugs neck. Red hot pain spiraled through his body. Latching his hands on the things head he tried to prise it off. It dug in further sending wave of pain that spasmed through his body. He beat at it desperately, his blows bouncing away with no affect. The monster released its grip drawing away. Blood dripped from its open mouth as it ran its tongue across Draugs face. "Sweet, so sweet... And mine, mine!" it whispered. Draugs hand brushed against something hard and cold "I will take you back... save you for special treat" It was small fitting neatly into the palm of his hand "You cannot fight now, nor run, nor scream, nor disappear" A short rod with an almost button like protrusion "The venom holds you, the venom binds you. Nothing you can-" There was a sharp click and the Hirod spear launched itself up into the flesh of the monster, penetrating the mannequin like body that dangled from its shadowy legs. It looked down in a state of disbelief, as the spear rocked slowly. Obsidian flames began to roll over the creatures shadowy limbs, burning them away into an oily black smoke that rose high into the sky. There was a brief moment after the limbs had burned away when a lost child stared from behind the broken face before flames consumed the body. Draugs spear clattered to the ground and he raised a shaky hand to his neck. Blood still dribbled from the wound oozing between his fingers. He felt dizzy, the sense of nausea eating away at his conscious mind. He knew he hadn't lost that much blood, but he wasn't given the time to truly realize what was happening as his conscious slipped into a deep sleep. There was one part of him however that had only just begun to awaken. *** He was in a room, grey and featureless. In the centre stood a crystalline double helix, slowly spinning and shinning with an inner light. Looking up he understood what it was. It was him, everything that went into the body he bore in its simplest and smallest form. It held a wealth of possibilities, far too many for him to even begin to comprehend. He placed a shaky hand on the crystal, watching as a multitude of glowing lights danced in response to his touch. Something was wrong though, he could feel it even here. Shadows where there shouldn’t be shadows, as if his mind was being slowly consumed by some invisible beast. What was it the creature had said. It seemed so long ago now, like a whisper on the wind. Like a mountain rising from the sea, the memory surfaced in his mind. The beast had filled his body with venom. “You don’t even know where to begin do you” Draug turned, his eyes following the sound. Lazing in the crux between the two crystals sat a shadowed, featureless figure that seemed to burn like a black flame in the confines of the room. It held up one arm, gesturing at the crystalline structure. “Even though you know what it is and what it can do, you don’t have the faintest idea of how to guide it towards your desires” The thing let its arms drop, sliding down the crystal to stand in front of him. Up close he could see that the creature was not quite as featureless as he thought. While it lacked eyes it did possess a jagged mouth, stretched impossibly wide and full of brilliantly white fangs. It bowed theatrically before continuing. “That is why I exist. I am the rationalization of your powers, or a part of it anyway. This whole room is a product of your own feverish delusion. Do not think to hard on it.” The creature said waving a hand vaguely “There are more pressing things at hand. What’s important is that you must only concern yourself on the results of using your powers. The complexities of even the smallest change would take years to truly understand. So instead you must let it be guided by instinct” The creature stopped, tilting its head to one side as if listening to a sound only it could hear. With a subtle almost weightless grace it began to move forward. It didn’t stop even when it had reached Draug, passing through him like a fish through water. It was an unnerving experience, sending shivers down his spine. It placed a long elegant hand on the wall; the dark shadow-like substance that made up its body began to burn itself into the grey plaster etching out a thick door shaped outline. It swung its head to face him once again. “It is time for you to leave” It said, its voice almost a whisper “No…” Draug said slowly, his gaze locked on the creature “I just fought something that could see inside my mind. For all I know this could be a trap. Why the hell should I trust you?” “You can’t” it said “but you already realize this is your only option” There was silence as the door swung open, revealing only darkness on the other side. The creature watched impassively as Draug took his first steps towards the door. It was like wading through a river, as if some force was trying to keep him out of the oily blackness that lay ahead. Just as quickly as it had come the pressure vanished, hurling Draug through the clean cut opening and into the dark void that lay beyond. | ||||||||

| The joke is far too true | its been a while since I posted something in here but I kinda feel like it right now so i'll put in an uncompleted piece of work i started writing today. It started as part of a contest to out creepy each other and then I got carried away... Untitled plop plop plop goes the blood on the cold steel floor as the woman writhes in silent agony no longer able to scream as her body is a drained useless wreck and the sky blues eyes watch her still waiting for the last throes of that special spark called life though the face behind is stained with blood and the hands quiver with an insane innevitability watch, wait, love, enjoy love the taste of bloodied flesh against your teeth enjoy the useless screams that echo around the room watch as the blood covers the world around in you in a red mist wait for the final moment, the last gasp, the last writhe everything for that one brief moment of time where truth is merely the point between life and death and you hold it all in your hands those hands slicked with life itself the face showing naught but a joy as simple and innocent as a childs but the eyes forever cold blue steel in darkest night, electric coins in empty sockets and the moment is forever gone each time it is different, each life a different window to the truth like a city seen one brick at a time the hands fall, no time to bask in the after glow the body, the corpse, the pile of flesh there is no need of it now with all use drained away it is waste, but even waste can be recycled the thin tounge darts over cracked lips its desire to consume flesh ever more present a burning need that screams out from within its cage and even now the cold eyes cannot stare it down the flesh is there, its scent filling the air and smeared across the walls and it eats, the cage a twisted screaming heap shreding meat from bone and bone from meat till naught but a dead face and lifeless torso remain the bones still strung together, tight wires encircling each white tube flesh and bone bone both exposed and held as one | ||||||||

| The joke is far too true | some more poetry from me... Solace Let me watch the world from afar Let me never have to raise my head And join the fast flowing rivers of relationships I do not, I cannot understand those strange waters So let me just exist, please I do not care if i'm alone Or if people laugh at my sorrow I am nothing And I lack so much of that which makes us human Strange joy Confession through possesion The irony's profound That ghost of mischief and despair Brought upon my cowardly heart The words I longed to say A curtain of fear whipped away By one that wished me harm Such an odd reality is this singular truth And with that foul spirit gone I am left to reap the consequences of my heartfelt words Even if she leaves me to wallow in sorrow My words have been said And my heart flies free Eternal They say I have a condition, a power I would call it a curse They say I cannot die That is a lie, I can die, I just return They call me the last hope in this war But i'm little more than an endlessly disposable soldier They send me to die time and time again And my corpses litter the battlefield They say I fight to protect th people of my home But I have no home, and my friends died long ago They call me a hero Me, who is little more than a different kind of victim | ||||||||

| The joke is far too true | yep, that's by far my favourite one out of those three. I like to tell some kind of story with my poems, it makes them far more interesting. And because I've been in a failry poetic mood recently I have another one to post. I never really finnished it but I kind of like how it cuts off There is both a rhyme and rhythm To my deadly majesty Glinting blades in a whirling dance Each slash a bursting crimson fountain My body almost spectral amidst the warm red rain I burn with lust for death Each kill a silent ecstasy A steady stream of dying bodies meets my dull and rusted blades My dance the final deadly siren Deaths scythe in the field of human life But there is something else... Beyond the wailing of this damned crop The reason I am here The reason I cut, and maim, and kill My brilliant shining dove My love... So sweet upon the gallows The noose like the prettiest of pearls She is so close now But a breath from my tender embrace And her eyes stare blankly too blankly They cut through me like knives Those dead rotting eyes I was to be her savior! I was to be her knight in times of need! And I failed, I let her travel beyond the veil Let her travel to a place where I cannot tread While I delighted in such trivial killings Am I no more than a beast? Was she wrong when she loved me Those simple words, the beauty that lay within my soul Was that all a lie? Is there any beauty beyond the brutality of my heart Did her eyes see this failed truth, this harsh reality Or was she blind even until the last I hold her now Her skin cold to the touch And as smooth and sleek as fresh ice on the surface of a lake Her hair still soft, still smelling faintly of almonds I prize the rope from her neck And close her graying lids Last edited by loner-kid; 10-13-2009 at 09:00 AM.. | ||||||||
