[Govinda]

Hi. Here's some poems. Say things about them if you like, say nothing about them if you like. They have no rhyme, vague pattern, and are just spouts. If it's your thing, please enjoy.



this is my chicken soup, it's for my soul
i'm writing it in notepad
and without capitals
take my metaphor and swallow it whole

this is my little requiem, it's for my audience
who never really listen
but they'll pretend to
take my words and spit them back

this is my life, it's for my mother
one day she'll die
and i will too
take my life and just keep going

this is my breath, it's for the air
returned to where
it should be
take my words, grab my see oh too

this is my heart, it's for the world
to grab at
to look at
take my blood, and drink your wine

this is my cigarette, and it's for my soul
one day it'll kill me
with my mother i'll die
take my lungs and watch me sink
without breath
i'll fall deeper
alone as we are
but then again that could
just be
the point of this whole thing.

and so the english descend
into the house across my car park
just beyond my window

they steal Lidl trollies like it's going out of fashion
'DRINK MORE CIDER!'
then do their degrees on laurie lee
(they'd miss that joke)

i know this isn't a poem
but i give not a shit
these drunken children
are keeping me awake

Your poems may not rhyme Govinda but they're fascinating to read. Its really intriguing but its like writing a journal in a way but with more flow. The one with the wankers cracked me up and I like how you switch from French to English. C'est genial!!!! (I'm not taking French this year, hopefully I said this right. )

stole
half my schnapps

wears
on and on

and i'm in notepad again
this isn't good
the ****ing font
looks stupid

there's absolutely no point
that i can see
in any of
these
things

which break
drink
steal
and wear on

human flaws
in our machines

flawed words
in my machine

my brain, my machine
my processor, my memory

is flawed like everything else
to do with us

flawless cats

i've made a scary find

we live life for happiness
memories
days in
summer, sepia, orange and red
days spent with loved ones
lounging in bed
but guess what
it doesn't really matter
because they'll die
as all things do
one day
one moment left for you
to rue
and fight
and hope
and cry
but they'll be gone
and you're alone
in your own home
with the dead white phone

they say
someone dies, cherish their memory
they don't think
that maybe that death just defeats
the whole purpose

here's the news kids

scratch that
i give not a shit about me
the only reason
i like the world
is some of the people in it

and the trees
and the tea

all in all

welcome to my prayer
for america.

it will probably piss you off
but i don't care
i'm very angry
and moreover very, very sad
at the news of
death without real reason.

i would like to tell you
of my home
a land of hill and sea
and crack and booze and aids and
knives.

but not guns
i have only seen a gun once;
my uncle Rab's a gamekeeper
and he let me shoot at a tree
(i missed).

he keeps his guns
in a cupboard with a passcode
it also serves neatly
as a nuclear bunker.

you give these weapons to
your children!

what need have they? hmm?
you're not a hunting country
Finland is, what a trajedy
but that kid was sick anomaly

i like humans, for the most part

and now, things are ruined

are dead.

they weren't soldiers
they were innocents
this isn't war
that's for another day, every day

if you
don't take this
as your chance to TALK
your signal
from that old 'God' of yours
to think for a moment
about guns, and sick kids
'how can we help them?
what can we do?'

you can bring your psychiatric services
up to scratch.
you can think properly about
gun control.

and we can all spare a moment
to think for a while
what if it was our children
shot while shopping?
