~ The Queen ~

A king is bold and brave, but behind him is a force unseen
A power so subtle, so gentle, it can only be the queen
The queen is the one besides the king, always holding his hand
And together side by side, they rule over the land

So tell me right now; what is a king without his queen?
Wouldn’t it be like a meadow, filled with grass, only without its green?
It would be like a great giant mirror, yet it wouldn’t even be clean
It would be like the most wonderful play, yet without a final scene

Like a spider without its web, and a bee without its sting
Like a wonderful, proud eagle, yet with only one wing
Like a wolf that cannot cry, and like a bird that cannot sing
Or like a fortune teller, who just can’t see a thing

Tell me how you would feel if you knew you had no hope?
As if you would swing from tree to tree without any rope
As if you would find your way through the dark with no real light
As if you spend all your time in some sort of eternal night

What would you be? Like a writer without his pen
Like a silly mathematician who can’t even count to ten
Like a heroic knight holding but a blunt blade
Like a hard working man who doesn’t even get paid

You would be like a merchant without any goods
Like a raging forest fire without any woods
Like a great dancer, but who’s too tired to even walk
Like the wisest man alive, but is forbidden to talk

How would you feel if you knew that things might go like this?
You would be grateful for that power, that force bringing you bliss
Never forget that that one little bit makes that difference, every step of the way
And never forget that lovely little queen supporting you, each and every day…
