~ The Poet ~

Should I read or should I write?
That is the question that’s been holding me tight
When I read, my mind tends to drift away
Yet when I write, my body begs it to stay

Woe is me; I don’t know what I want
Just, the words that I write, to many I grant
Woe is me; I don’t know what to choose
I feel making a choice might make me lose

This is a matter of my own, no-one can aid
I feel as if my soul is the Heart, and my mind is the Spade
I feel like the Joker being mocked by the guards
But in the end isn’t all just the same deck of cards?

A writer will try to put his everything to teach a thing or two
Or maybe I’m wrong; he’s just trying to tell a story to you
I wonder if a poet is much different. Does he do the same?
Is emotion in words playing? Well, then I’m going to love this game

I hope I get it now; I’ve gone and made my choice
Reading aloud is fun, but such a terror for my voice
Should I write or should I read?
To this question I have found an answer indeed…
