George R. R. Martin's sprawling epic fantasy with a huge cast of characters and one extremely dynamic world. Who has read them and what do you think?

I own A Game of Thrones, A Storm of Swords, and A Clash of Kings, although I've only completely read through the first. The others I'll admit, I sometimes flipped through and read chapters here and there with my favorite characters lol. This saga is amazing. To be honest it's the first really gritty, realistic fantasy I've read, with the possible exception of Into the Darkness, which is another book for another thread. I was completely taken by surprise with his writing style simply because I've never read anything like it.

I'm going to have to reread these again soon, it's been awhile lol. I remember liking Jon Snow, Robb Stark, and Daenarys. The direwolves as well, they're very interesting characters in their own right, to me at least. I kind of wish I had one. XD
