Chronicles of the Elements - Book of Beginnings

Hi, this club is all about my latest book, Chronicles of the Elements. Its currently under construction story wise due to some major plot changes and the way that it will be written.

Thats where you come in. You see, It isnt a lie when i say ill be writing the book, becuase i will be writing most of it. Probably due to a great idea i had. What about a book written by the world? Like a published RP! I checked some stuff out and its legal.

But, heres the catch. There will only be 4 people, including me in this book. And there is now only one space left. So, that is what this club is for, to discuss the book and to manage any member permissions into the book. ^^

Its fairly simple, if you want to join, simply post up. Anyone can become a member. But, if you want a spot in the last space of a mighty elemental, then plaz post up with a short story. It can have any plot, or even be the character you want. Otherwise, if you cant be bothered and are part of a forum, then give me a link to your best work and i'll get back to you ^^

Adding on from which- experience is appreciated, and those willing to participate will have their literacy skills judged by Waterprince and perhaps discussed with other members involved in this. There is only one space left for a main elemental.

Hmm... so by what Waterprince and I have been discussing, each element has it's own animal. Whatever the animal is is chosen by whoever is the element. For example, my animal is a serpant of the earth. It has features of each main form of snake (sort of like a direct ancestor), with a spined hood that is used to dig. Think of the hood a little like that of Gizamaluke of Final Fantasy IX. I shall describe another time, along with an image about this elemental animal, as well as describe my actual character too.

The characters each start out like a regular human child too.

Hmmm... sounds interesting. I have a broad knowledge of mythos and have written both impressive RPBs and actual stories with actual fans on the net, although I have yet to be published. I am particularly known for great character portrayals and deep, involved plots and a dream-like feel to much of my fanfiction, which I feel would be appropriate for a wind/air-based character.

Can you say what the world the book takes place in is like? What purpose would each of these parts of a novel have? Would these characters meet? What would be some of the major powers in this world be? What kind of magic system if any is there in this world? What governments/social structures does this world have?

I would like to know these things.... and then I will write.

Well, theyre are many different factors in the story, more used than others; such as a teenagers problems and life, as well as reactions to magic and the characters powers. There will also be certain obstacles such as monsters being released and the elementals having to fight them.

Furthermore on the Elementals, there are in fact 11, Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Ice, Nature, Metal, Storm, Dark, Light and Spirit. But, only 4 people, the four main elementals, will be actually writing.(Solely due to the fact that 11 people would be far too many.)

To NightmareSlayer: The World Map is curently under construction and is typically spread out like Earth's Continents. There arent main elemental countries like for Fire or Earth but they are simply different due to the people living there. That also applies to the Government system, so we'll probably decide that ourselves. And, the 4 main Elementals do meet in the first book, but they are unaware to the other elementals until the second book(but id prefer to stick to the first books storyline at the moment.) The four elementals, and all of them really, have 5 different powers; the power to create and control their element, a mental ability, a physical ability, a spiritual ability and a Pure ability(a very special one from the essence from the Pure Elementals). And to the Magic system, there isnt really one, we have an infinite amount of "magic" just it uses up a little bit of normal energy. So basically u just have to rest and eat and hey, you have energy.

Thats some of the answers to your questions. And for everyone that wants to join, you can write your short story on 'anything', so you dont really need any information yet. Now, even though you wish to be the Air Elemental then you will need to become an actual member of this club and will be sent the code for the new signature code A.S.A.P.

PS: To The Legend: If you wish to use anything on this forum that is fine, but, please give me a link, i may be 15 but i am really incredibly busy and i dont have time to search through completely.

Yes, uh...I would like to join because uhm...I like English tea and...wait. What!? I'm already a part of this thing...? Fancy.

I'm just messin' with y'all. I think this book will be nice, it's just that I think you should put everything in one book with a possibility for a sequel, that way the book will sell better overall. Also, I want to get a good feel of this world, so post as mch as you can about the world please.

And uhm, I haven't decided on how my character will be. I'll let you know soon enough.

I just realized something.

Nature and Earth.
Air and Storm.
Spirit.

Spirit... isn't an element. Now. It would be if you renamed it to something like...hmm. Nah. Can't do it.

But Air and Storm go together. Same with Nature and Earth. Unless you change Nature to Wood, I guess. You could add Thunder/Lightning. But sometimes that can also go with Wind/Air.

Those are just my opinions, though.

Uhh... spirit would be an element. It directly reflects life, rather the soul of life, as a direct form of energy. It only makes sense that since the rest of the elements are external, there would be at least one element that is internal. Though I do have to agree that storm is a form of air, and water if I might add, while nature would be a form of Earth and spirit. Pure opinion.

Wow ^^ thats the first time someone understood Spirit. Yes, its abiltites are to control energy and to create elemental energy. But its more focused to be more destructive. I like to think of it as giving molecules so much energy that they explode. Of course there will be much more to the elemental than that but im kinda busy with the first four at the moment. Once i get everything together ill let everyone know though ^^

Hmm... so each of the four would represent the "opposing elements"? Spirit would be from within.... and a short story for you:

The bells of iron rang out clearly, announcing the hour, but the urchin didn't see anyone react; even she didn't bother doing so. It was certainly a shock when the half-mad Metal elemental first did so, but nobody cared enough-besides, the melody he played was so beautiful-get far enough away and you would think that it was someone's music box playing a lullaby.

"Lully, lully, lulla...." she sang to herself along along with the bells as she concentrated. She continued singing the ancient carol, knowing all who heard the bell would also hear her voice. "...King Andryphieus in his hour of madness..."

Her friends, the urchins, the lost children, tried to stay awake, even as she, an element of air, a boy who was a spirit elemental and a very little one who was a Light element cast their song of sleep and peace over the other children in the city, knowing even the adults felt peaceful.

Maybe that was why nobody stopped the bells.

NOTE: The carol is a real one, only with slightly different wording. It is called The Coventry Carol. Anne Dudley does a great version of it on her CD Ancient and Modern. (She scored American History X, The Full Monte, The Crying Game among a few British TV shows...)

Very impressive NightmareSlayer, i like the use of elementals and the subtlety of the bells and song, i could almost hear it ^^ So far, yours is the only piece of writing i have been given and your on the top of my list so far.

This is a short post from the thread, Mixed world Retry. My character is an indian living in the last frontier of freedom for his people. Enjoy.

Shadow Wolf observed the men hunting him through the tall swaying grass.
His thought occupied him whilst he waited for them to pass by, following his false trail.
“Hunting me? They are the hunted. No white man can hunt on my land.”

His tribal dress of woven cloth and feathers was a perfect camouflage, and he was able to draw his bow unobserved. He waited until the trackers were thirty feet from him before his sent the shaft spinning into the back of a tall white man on a brown horse.
“My horse now.”
The man’s dying scream made the now five-man team turn, a young tracker falling with Wolf’s second arrow embedded in his face.
The hunters wheeled their horses and turned to charge the now standing Shawanos tribesman.
Only three remained as Shadow Wolf fired more arrows. The first horseman drew a rifle for a holster and drew back the hammer as his steed leapt forward.
Wolf threw aside his bow and began running towards the galloping horseman. Ducking and weaving he avoided the hasty shots of the trackers and drew an axe from his side. It hit the leading horse between the eyes. The horse gave a pitiful cry and fell across the paths of the other horsemen, throwing the leading rider to the ground in its death throes.
He dived at the fallen horseman, pulled back his head by the hair and slid his knife across the stretched throat. The white man’s blood splashed out across Wolf’s hands. He leapt in time to grab the horseman to his left and avoid a second shot by the right horseman.
