Reading the world's longest book!

I am currently reading the world's longest book! War and Peace The only book to actually have 1,329 pages. Actually, this is not the original, it's an "extended" copy, I guess you could call it. But the total original was only 1,120 pages.

I am on page.....42.

I really haven't gotten into the storyline, but when I do, I will explain it.

Title: War and Peace
Author: leo Tolstoy
Pages: 1,392 (I must have missed a couple pages)

Whats it about: (I am guessing War and Peace by the title, but I am not that far into the book to know.)

I am on page 52 now. I read a couple more pages.

If you want to buy it:

Click Here to see Information about the book, War and Peace @ Barnes and Noble's Website

Hah, War and Peace is an excellent read, though I'm sure there are longer. I'm in the hard process of reading the English translation of the Kalevala. But good luck with it, hope you appreciate it.

After about a week or so....I am now half way through the book. I am on page 532.

It's sad, because I am still confused about the story in the book....

I tried war and peace but its more Peace than war so i gave it up and took it back to the school library.

Marcel Proust's "A La Recherche Du Temps Perdu" Is the worlds longest book, made up of seven volumes, If you can't count volumes them youve gotta divide War and Peace by two as its 2 books.

Hrmm I would of thought it would have been like 3000 pages, oh well. I should have a look for it, war is quite interesting so no doubt its a half decent read.

I could never write a book that long, I would say 700 - 800 at the very max for me and thats really pushing it (My Game script is currently 86 pages which is roughly 25% of the game).

1329 isn't that great. Stephen kings the stand has 1200+ pages maybe even 1300+. But that was a great book, and reading a dull book or one that you don't understand can be hardship to the extreme. You have my utmost respect for reading that, good luck finishing it.

Wasn't the original Lord Of The Rings book longer???

The old version of LOTR that I read had like 1200 pages, but it was a really small font.
(not including the afterstories or appendix)

Lol, I wouldn't really call it the world's longest book. I believe there have been longer. I actually read it, and it isn't half bad. I won't say a thing about it, but I did rather enjoy it. And yeah, RagnaToad, all that was quite a read as well. (The Lord of the Rings...ah, more classics!)

I don't think it(LOTR) counts, sadly; because it is still split into three volumes 90% of the time.

Sounds like a good read,I guess.

I don't really have the time or patience to read a book at the moment.I'm just waiting for the final installment of Harry Potter. That book is going to be awesome.
