Fiction Writing Contest (Isolation)

I've seen this on other forums and it usually works out very well. Here's the deal: write an original piece of work of the theme "isolation." The stories should have a maximum of 5000 words, but no real minimum. This must NOT be a fanfic of any kind. Any fanfic will be immediately disqualified without any second chance.All details must be original.

Members may apply to be judges or contestants. Since this is a trial run, I'll be a judge this time around. As many judges/contestants can enter as they wish, but limit one story per entrant. After your story gets judged, you may not edit it.

Silly me, I forgot to say what the stories will be judged on.

Creativity: Obvious one. This will be rated on just how creative and innovative the story was. If the reader puts an interesting twist on the story, points will definitely be added up to creativity. Of course, you can take something completely cliche if you want, but just make sure it's a good story and you'll still get some points for creativity if it's not so boring.
Grammar: Obvious again. Grammar and spelling count for a lot.
Style: Just how interesting is your story? Did the judges want to just keep reading? Or were they bored to spit by reading it? Also, if the story doesn't fit the theme of isolation too closely, points will be deducted.

Each will be from 1-10, and your final score will be out of 30. The one(s) with the highest scores out of 30 will be the winners.

Ah, yes, a writing contest. Sure, I'll hop on. Mine will be in in about 2 weeks...

I suppose we can wait for a couple more entrants. Only five writers doesn't seem to be much for a contest. I'll leave it open until Sunday, May 21. From then on, there will be a one month deadline. People can still enter, but they will just have less time to write.

Stories are due in by June 21. You can submit before that, and it may be judged before then, but official placings will not be done until all ratings are in by all of the judges.

Alright everyone, the contest has officially started. You may submit your stories whenever you want, and they will be judged ASAP. June 21st will close out the contest, and is when the winners will be announced. People are still allowed to enter, as 5 entrants doesn't make too much for a contest. It will be judged nonetheless, so show us what you've got!
