It is now exactly one month before Valentine's Day. This calls for some literature to 'celebrate' it. I will post various works containing love as main topic. I will start with a work called Maxim's Letter. It pretty much explains itself. This is the kick-off of my Valentine Works. Enjoy!

~ Maxim’s Letter ~

Dearly beloved,

I write to you now to tell you that I will soon be home again. My ventures have been long and enduring and I cannot wait to see your smile to cheer me up. I have been to many towns and have seen many other women, but none compare to your shining beauty.

On my expeditions we went through a scorching desert. Near the oasis where we rested, I found a gorgeous red rose. I could not believe my eyes. Its wonderful red colour made me realise how special it was, just like you are. It filled me up with joy. That something so beautiful could grow in a desert. It gave me the inspiration to write you this letter, just like you give me the inspiration to do so many things. I thank you for that.

I also lied to you in the beginning of this letter. I wrote this letter mainly to tell you how much I love and appreciate you, and words alone do not have the strength to express their feelings they try to explain. I am bringing back home the rose that I have found in the desert, which symbolises the purity you emanate.

I feel like I should apologise for being so corny, but then again, I do not. I see no reason why I should apologise for things that are true. I just think you do not hear these things often enough and it even makes me feel guilty. Now that I have been away for some time, I feel how much I need you, and how much I cherish you.

I cannot wait to see your smile again, to make me feel complete. I cannot wait to hold you again, like we did that sunset. I cannot wait to come back home, to see all that I have missed. I cannot wait to be back, and start loving you the way I should…
