The Magician's Nephew

why is it that when making narnia movies, people always skip the first book? i mean, i know the first one doesnt flow into the rest that well, but it is an awesome book, some of the best imagery i've seen. that and i cant be the only one convinced Digory is the Professor from the lion the witch and the wardrobe. it's a great book and i'm sad that it will not see the silver screen in this round either

Brotherhood has levelled up - (lv 1)
Who knows? They may have started with the second one because it is generally more popular. I haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't completely rule out a possible motion picture for The Magician's Nephew or Prince Caspian.

Spoiler:
He IS.

Read "The Last Battle."

And although The Magician's Nephew was the first book in chronological order when considering the timeline, The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe was the first book in the series that C.S. Lewis wrote.

Besides, if they make the movies in the order that the books were written in, that means I get to see The Voyage of the Dawn Tredder all the sooner

Yeah, The Magician's Nephew was the second to last book to be written. Was the Dawn Treader one the second to be released?

No, it was the third. Prince Caspian is next up. I actually thought... hmm... I thought The Silver Chair was second to last. But I was also thinking The Last Battle was written last, but I think I read that book third... or maybe fourth. I'm confuzzededed.

You are right. Magician's Nephew was second to last. I must've just read the books in some really strange order, or something.

Anyhoo... are you the same Brotherhood from Final Fantasy Insider, btw? Maybe I could ask you via PM... but I'm lazy.

EDIT: This might help everyone else.

That's strange, considering The Silver Chair makes a reference to The Horse and His Boy. I would have thought The Horse and His Boy came out right after The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe... Apparantly not.

Notice that "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" also kind of has references to "The Magician's Nephew," with the marbles that spill out of the Wardrobe when Lucy first opens it, and that street lamp that's out in the middle of the forest. I don't remember exactly how those things happened, but I remember that they came to be explained in "The Magician's Nephew;" the street lamp had been a tree, or something, and it got hit by a random blast of magic or something. I don't really remember the details, like I said.

Autumn takes classes from Quistis - (lv 2)
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the most famous book out of the series, so if they're going to make a film then it makes sense to start with the most popular since it has the highest chance of giving the investors the biggest return on their money. The fact that people enjoy the film is a nice side-effect of the desire of other individuals to make a profit - like any other good or service supplied in the market. Capitalism is excellent.
