Who did you vote for? (kinda late, I know)
Sorry for being late, but I'm curious to see who here is actually with Bush.
I can tell you I am not at this time old enough to vote so my input really doesn't matter but I can tell you I am truly sick of people bashing OUR President just because they don't agree with some of the things he does or aparently in most cases of people, MOST of the decisions he makes. I just want to know why and why not you voted for whichever Politician that ran the previous year. The answer "Because Bush is a tail-pipe sucking idiot" and anything of the likes is not oging to be accpeted. An answer like that will just display sheer immaturity. I was not with most of the stuff kerry said such as completely contradicting himself: "Abortion is wrong, but it should be the mother's choice to decide if it's right or wrong." And yet, he supports it. He wanted to stop being allies with Isreal (which if you hadn't noticed, is God's chosen nation which will never be destroyed and has become a major target for opposing middle eastern countries. Plus, I found Kerry to be a really bad liar. Politicians lie, we all know that, but Kerry sucked at it...horribly. My favorite Red Sox player is Manny Ortiz. I love baseball. Yes, those are just reasons I wouldn't vote for Kerry. As for Bush, you can tell he is a man of God and while he has made some decisions I don't agree with, I belive he is doing a good job leading our country. I wouldn't vote for Nader because I would find him ending up with 0 votes more funny than 1. Well, he would vote for himself. Anyways, if this is too late of a topic or if it goes against the guidlines of Intellectual Discussion in some way you have my sincerest aplogies and the freedom of locking this. Not that you need my permission.

I voted for Bush, but it counted more as a vote against Kerry than a vote for Bush. That's the way the last election was. Not many people wanted Bush to stay in, but even less people wanted Kerry in. I don't think Bush is a bad President, I just know enough about politics to realize that he's not to blame for some of the "bad decisions" of his administration and that most of the stuff he gets blamed for really isn't bad anyway. It's amazing how many people know absolutely nothing about Clinton, but immediately accuse Bush of wrongdoing for something he has nothing to do with. For example, gas prices.
Yes, Kerry was a horrible liar. He was the most extreme liberal in Congress, he waffled way too much, and he couldn't talk his way out of anything -- and that's not even going into his dishonorable and disgraceful "service" in the Navy. I think voting rights should be taken from tax returns, not driver's licenses. If you got more money from the government than you gave to it, you should not have a say in how the country is run.

Well I couldn't vote and I really didn't watch much of their broadcasts anyway but I got a bad vibe from Kerry. So yeah, if I could have voted it would be one against Kerry, same as Sasquatch said. I'm sure there are a lot of people behind Bush making the bad/good decisions, he's more like a figure head.
I'll admit I know next to nothing about politics but I still think that voters should have a decent amount of knowlegde to able to vote. I know that sounds like we're taking away freedom but really people need to know what they're voting for. It probably doesn't matter much though since I think only 10%(or what ever percent) of the US population actually vote and most of them are probably inteligent people.

Why, Grendel? Why are you against Bush? These are the sorts of things that you need to explain when posting here. Short and sweet statements are not the sort of thing that we enjoy doing in this particular forum. This is all outlined in the rules. You have broken a rule, and regardless of whether or not you are new to the forum, I am going to treat you like every other member. You are being warned for your post, and in the future I would advise you to take into consideration the necessities for a post in Intelligent Discussion.
The rules can be found in the annoucement section here. Please do not allow this to effect your view on the rest of this forum, and if you have a problem with what has happened here I am more than willing to discuss it with you via PM. Or you can discuss it with Chez Daja, the other moderator of this forum or even move up to a Super Moderator. As for my say in the matter of this thread, I did not vote. I could have voted, but I did not. At the time I was not well versed in politics, I knew almost nothing except what other people told me about each candidate, which were all extremely positive for one side and extremely negative for another. I figured Kerry as a liar, from what everyone told me. And I figured Bush as the kind of guy that was devoted to whatever his agenda was, caring little about what the "people" thought should happen. Neither of those are exactly my opinion, just those formed from what other people told me about each person. Simply put, neither of them interested me enough for me to vote in either direction. All this prevents me from saying who I would have voted for if I had voted as well. So there we go. I did not vote. |
