What happens???

I know, I know. Every one has their own beliefs about what hapens when you die, but I've never been one to follow in others footsteps. I'm a doubter at heart, and it makes it hard to find a religion(so I'm not trying to upset any belivers out there) but can anyone help me guess... What happens when we die? Do we float in limbo? Become re-born(reincarnation)? Do we stay connected to this world somehow? I don't know but all these thoughts and more go through my mind and this seemed like a place to talk about it. So, anyone? What happens when we die?

Being a Christian, I believe in Heaven and Hell. It's not whether or not we are "good" or "bad" that determines where we go, but whether we are forgiven for being "bad", because we are all "bad".

We'll never know 100% until it happens -- all we have until then is faith. Faith in existence or faith in nonexistence, either way.

I'm atheist so I don't belong any church so my opinion is that we just die. Nothing else. We die and then our relatives throw us to grave. Why we should live in hell or heaven. They boths doesn't sound good opinions. Maybe Bible be wrong. Maybe there isn't any after-life.

Other opinion that I have is that we become ghost or stuff like that. If you haven't have good life, you become 'bad' ghosts that kills people and stuff. If you had have good life, you come 'good' ghost that helps people.

Well, there's my opinions...sorry Sasquatch but really I don't believe Heaven and Hell...

Yeah... I grew up a christian but i fell away from all faith about 5 years ago... I don't know if I'd say I'm an Athesist but I just can't go with what alot of religions say. I'm not sayiing any of these are right or wrong but... I don't know... It just always confused and appealled to me.

I was born in a Catholic family, but I am Catholic, the same way that if a horse is born in a tree, it's a bird! I believe in superior beings of power, in astral planes, parallel dimensions, and the Earth's power to make and break (magick). But then again I'm not kook, I believe in myself, in achieving as much as I can, enjoying myself as much as I can, and learning a lot, cos if it's all for nothing, then hell, at least I made my time worth it.

When I first heard of the whole "lifestream" thing in final fantasy 7, that really hit me, I think.

Whatever happens to our souls, at least our material bodies serve a very real purpose in nurturing the next generation.

yeah but what if it isnt all for nothing and the bible is right? would you have rather be safe than sorry? or at least thats how i look at things

I've given it a lot of thought, but can't seem to even agree with myself on it. On one hand, I want to believe that there's a heaven that we can go to. On the other hand, though, it just seems infathomable. I really can't decide with myself.

I don't believe anything in this world can really die. Maybe turn into someting different, but there will always be the same amount of energy as there always has been. That is just how science is. Everything is a part of everything else, and if you took away one thing that it would not work as well. I think our bodies turn to dust, but our energy floats through the plane that we cannot see as humans. Right now there are many demansions of life an when you die I believe your body no longer holds you back from that. As for God. I believe he is everything an we are from him. So He IS the demensions an everything else. I can't say I have ever believed god was a form of being. To me making God out to be something humans can undertsand is a waste of breathe. So I just take time respecting him an all he is. Being the earth so on an so forth. I may be wrong, but Even if there was a real god I would be safe in him. Because I do no wrong in my belief, just love, and try to ask for forgiveness when I faulter. SO I think I will either float through the glory of all creation, or go to heaven.

Eother or. I tend to walk with God as he is everything.

I believe those who are saved through faith and truly believe Jesus died for their sins go to Heaven.

Those that don't go to hell.

Ok, I have a few theories (if you can call em that) about the afterlife

1) We go into a dreamlike state for the rest of Eternity. Or an eternal sleep as i like to call it.

2)If you worship Jesus, God or whoever and go with that Karma stuff then I believe you can pass into heaven. If not I believe you are left to wander the Earth (which I think would be hell) again but in like the ghostly realm or Spectral Realm or whatever

3) Simply die, no thoughts, nothing

Karma is something of Buddism that those who worship God do not believe in. I believe good works do not get you into Heaven, because if they did, we would all be rotting in Hell.

Just remember, like the cartoons, there are those who immediately fall from the edge of the cliff and die and there are those who can walk on air and fall when they look down.

They guy who fell when he looked down and made it halfway across the gap is just as dead as the guy who fell off the cliff immediately.

That's an analogy of good works.

Still, according to some religions, if you're christian, you're the wrong one. There is no real "better to be safe than sorry" when it comes to religion. There are so many different conflicting religions out there, and many of them have the same rule as christianity: If you worship any other god, you'll go to "hell", or be punished in some way. You just have to pick the one that you most identify with. It's harder in this country though, because parents basically start us out as christians, and we have to break from the cultural norms to be anything else.
