But seriously, I've got no problem with a guy saying another guy is good looking. I don't go around pointing out every guy I see that I think is good looking. If I'm asked I'm not going to get all defensive and angry, I just don't spark it. Nor do I give a damn if somenoe sitting next to me says another guy is good looking. Hot and cute are signs that they're probably a little fabulous, but saying a guy is good looking is fine.

In my experience, if a guy is attractive enough for a straight guy to say he's gd looking, it means he shud take it as a big compliment! But generally, a guy should be able to call another guy attractive or hot. Why not? Girls call each other attractive, especially if theyre bi or gay (obviously), so it's no different.
Some people....you just fuss over such little things...

I agree, there shouldn't be a double standard for girls to call each other cute and and not guys to say it. But then most ppl think that if girls call each other hot then they are either bi or lesbian as Dead Angel said, or if a guy says that about another guy then they are considered gay. Stereotypical behaviour.

I can't stand this stigma. I find guys attractive, doesn't mean I want to have sex with them or that I find them sexually attractive or anything. Take Johnny Depp for example. <3 his movies, love his looks. Doesn't mean I'd want to take him to bed or anything. I comment on how guys look all the time. If somebody calls me gay, I just laugh at them and say "maybe I am, I mean I'd have to be to remark on another guy's looks." or something along those lines in a sarcastic tone.
I think Homophobia may be put onto us all by peer pressure and pop culture. Although we supposedly live in a time of equal rights, it's still viewed as a stigma to be gay, so people who deny and call others gay aren't necessarily repressed homosexuals, but they might be insecure about their own sexuality or how other people see them. It's a very tricky area. |
