Tolerating Intolerence

I've heard of it, or so. But, have you read something about hypocrisy in the Bible? The way it is now, what the Bible states and what's really happening is blurred. Blurred by the thirst of greed, and by using God's name just to reach that level.


Christians were persecuted in Japan, that I know, but what about in the New World, nor Europe? They do persecute Pagans, Muslims and other sects as well. Now, tell me, did the Bible stated that?

The jews where just as much persecuted an they do not go complaining about it, nor do they push there religion on others. In fact. In jewish law you can only be a jew if you were born into it. The only people I know of who are persecuting Christians are the Islamic people, but last I recall, they only persecute the ones who are not true to the bible.

On the other hand, Christians persecute other Christians (pretty much any denomination that isn't their own), Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Pagans, they just plain persecute everyone it almost seems.

Are you saying God and Jesus are not the same? Jesus was a pacifist and did not condone violence. Remember, he scorned Peter for chopping off a man's ear, stating "those who live by the sword die by the sword."

And what's more, anything and everything should be interpreted with care. When they fought for God, it could be some metaphor about spreading the word of God, like Blacks in the 1960 spreading the word of peace or equality.

Christ taught his disciples well as of not taking vengeance for His death. Unlike some who seek violence due to the fact that they belong to Islam or anything. You should live here in my country and see what's going on.

Christians make the worst hypocrites.

They preach tolerance and love thy neighbour, yet would rather see you burn if you're in any way different to them.

They try to convert you to their religion yet wage war against other Christians just because they have different practices.

They refuse to accept that other people believe different things and would destroy your writings if they don't conform to what they think you should believe.

I hate Christianity, they've caused so much evil in the world.

The idea is severly misused, that I understand. It's people being arrogant and ignorant. Americans in general have become very insecure, looking for a leader and unfortunently finding one in George Bush. Our ideals of real Democracy and freedom have died.

I find it ironic that even on a thread about tolerence/intolerence, people are still pointing fingers and intolerating each other..... but it is only human.

Religion. Yet another one of those topics with which you cannot change a person's mind. You can argue with them, call them foul names, and denounce him as a biggot, but it pretty much ends there. No one will change their ideas on faith unless it is by their own choice. No one can change that and no one will change that.... unless some unkown form of brainwashing or hypnotism is discovered and used ^_^

The only Christians that would bash another religon and force theirs on people is a hypocritical. I do not hate any jews, and I do not feel the need to force people to follow in my beliefs. You guys are entitled to have a free mind and choose what you want. I chose Christianity, you chose Pagainism.

The Christians, like any organised religion, are the bane of civilisation if they get the arrogant idea of divine (or otherwise) superiority into their heads.

Muslims are just as bad with their infidel rubbish, as are the Nazis with their master race ideas.

Even the Americans were just as bad with their attitudes towards slavery and black people in the past. Of course that's a European thing, the so called "Great British Empire" conquered the world, like the Romans did before them. I suspect history will repeat itself once more and America will follow in the footsteps of Rome and Britain.

Now I kinda lost track of what my original point was, but I agree that not everybody is the same, no matter what their culture - yet it's the majority that dictate what happens, and they're the ones that history records because of it.

No, you are completely wrong. We have no intention of doing any of those things. There are plenty of movements that claim to be Christians that do just that. I would never be part of a religion that would be like that.
