A few months ago I watched a show about Israeli men (I guess there are men from another countries who do the same) who get themselves young brides from Russia. Those, usually about 40+ years old guys who actually buying the Russian beauties in order to create a family. They have the right to choose every girl they want to from the big list, in time it seems that the girls just trying to run from their poor life conditions. They are threated as a fresh meat. Any man would like just to see such a beaty in a street but he becomes too picky when he chooses his bride very carefully, to get the best meat piece he can.

Alot of pretty girls from Russia and a many other countries trying to charm the rich foreigner it attempt to reach the 'dreamy life'. No love involved in such a marriage, only business. The girl will marry the man to achieve a better life and the man marries her cause she's young and cheap housekeeper and of course to lay her down. 90% of those marriage end in devorse, or the girl simply runs away. And the funny thing the guy bitches when she run away. Isn't it clear enough that the girl only using him as a key to a wealther life in time when he uses her body ? He demands from her to act like a normal wife but can she? Doesn't she feels like a slave in some way? In many cases the girl doesn't know the language and the laws of her new country and easily can be abused and fooled.

What do you think of such a marriage? Is an urge to live a better live is a good reason to make such a step? Are those men that probably not popular with women in real allowed to buy themselves a young wife?

That is sick. And as a woman myself i feel strongly against what is happening. Those women are not tools. Also, love is not a thing which can be bought, just as money does not buy happiness. Love is something that happens between two individuals who care for eachother, not something that a guy can go "she looks pretty, we will love eachother if I buy her." That is not how stable relationships go. If 90% of these marages fail, then that proves it. It is not how true love can form between people.

That is cruelty. Ridding these women of their human rights to be free and to be in a happy relationship with someone. Tricking and fooling her into doing things which are wrong, the poor woman not being able to comunicate with civilions. The feel of alienisation. How can people do this to others? What a ****ed up country.

Oh... and talking of which, adverts advertising russian brides have popped up. "Meet your destiny?" Bah! Twats!

Its almost slavery, or at least its on the same lines. Its totally derogatory to women and really not fair. People should look for true love and seek happiness there, because happiness is not found in forced marriage between 2complete strangers in a relationship bound by money only. Money does not bring happiness. sure you get lots of material possessions that give SHORT-TERM happiness, but long term happiness is found through someone who you can really bond and connect to.

Are these women forced to marry, or do they sign up on their own accord?

From what I understand, these women volunteer. So that just sort of throws the whole thing out the window. If a grown woman wants to be bought, that is her right. Consenting adults do some fawked up things these days, but they have a right to do so. Whether right or wrong in our eyes, its irrelevant.
You want to be meat? Fine- your choice. You want to buy someone? Fine- your choice. Free will is a bitch sometimes.

You see Plastik Assassin, those women don't do it out of boredom. It seems their lives are bad enough for them to attempt such a desperate step. As for now Russia and many other countries are poor and a lot of their citizens have to survive by their own. It's sad but that's their reality. I don't believe such a step can be taken by those who never suffered cold and hunger and despair.
So how much of FREE WILL is left? I see their actions as survival mostly. Who want to live in poverty when he not sure about his own fate?

I do not agree witch such a choice but I can understand their reasons.

Can women just not get a job, or do what they have to do to earn some quick money and travel to a country with an airline system, and fly to another country?

They may be poor and homeless when they get there, but at least you could go to a nation that has a vast economy and job opportunities to start you off.

Yeah, you may eat ramen noodles for 4-5 months, but hey... better than being the wife of some sick, sadistic, rich, pervert who makes you clean and take care of babies all day.

Serra, I totally see your point. You do make a valid one.

But at the same time, I don't believe that is the only option for them. It may be the easiest and quickest, but I highly doubt it is the only one. To me, its a judgement call. Myself, I would rather live on the street and scrape by, then be fed, have a home, and be a tool of someone. Again, its still a choice. Noone is holding a gun to anyone's head here.

And who's to say any of it ends up as slavery? I have heard of it happening in some circumstances, but you never know. Some of these mail order marriages may end up being god, solid, loving monogamous relationships. People do that for many reasons, not necessarily ownership. Some people in this world may just be extremely shy, introverted, or socially awkward and that may be the choice they make. Some people can't just go out and date and fall in love as others can.

Can you be sure? It hard to say so when you sit next to your computer, in your warm room when you can smell your breakfast from the kitchen and your mom makes you a hot coffee.

My origins from Russia. I had emigrated in age of ten with my family cause certain reasons. But all of us still watch TV in Rissian (there are a few channels). What we see there its terrible. People live in really low conditions, especially at the villages and small towns. It hard to find a job, sometimes people even don't get paid for it. There's poverty in many areas. When I look at this I can see all the reasons in the world for those girls to try their luck exept of that I myself wouldn't be able to marry someone I don't really know.

Of course there are happy cases, when the pair finds the harmony and the love in their union. But how many of those unions collapse and make both of the sides to suffer?

My point is that's it very hard to judge them from the side.

If they women want to do this it's fine. It's their choice and they should have ever right that a women in a normal relationship would have such as divorce. Move to Israel and you're going to have a hard time though; stands for any middle eastern country though. Pretty sure if you showed up to a court there you could hand the judge a receipt and she'd be your's to take home.

I was watching Viva La Bam today and there's one episode that includes Bam Margera and one of his friends going to a site that has a lot of Russian Girls who are willing to get married. There were heaps of pretty girls too. I think it's sad that there is an actual website so that men can search for a wife. I think it's an awful thing to do. You don't know who you'd end up with. You could end up with some weirdo who treats you like rubbish and that's just not the way to live.

I feel sorry for most of those women. It's their choice to get married but you just don't know who you would end up with. It could be anyone these days. There are some freaky people in this world.

It's sad that they can't find their own partner and end up in a happy marriage with the person they love. If the women do volunteer to get married to random people, they probably do it just so they can end up with a wealthy man. You guys already said that. They wish for a happier life, it doesn't always turn out like that. Some of the girls might be lucky enough to get the life they have wished for, some of them might not. They might end up as a slave of some sort. It's a horrible thought.
