What is the point of the factions? I mean exactly what do you do in them.

Factions in a general sense are extensions of the roleplaying and roleplaying battle forums where small groups of people band together under a unifying theme/ideal to challenge and do battle or roleplay together. It is much more focused in the setting and themes than the general roleplaying and battle forums.

So how exactly would a Faction RP play out? Say you have 5 people in a faction. How do you RP with the 5 people. Does one oerson write out part of the story and the next finish up with the continuence of their own and so on?

Lol, I've explained that several times.

Factions are to role-playing what clans are to MMORPGs. People join factions/clans to gather strength, complete missions, or fight other factions/clans. The point is to advocate interaction through role-playing that in result will create activity while giving something people to look forward to.

It's like in normal everyday role-playing where people simply sign up for one RP and one storyline, the main thing that keeps that RP alive is the people who sign up and interact with one another. In Factions, you get to create your own character and even your own Faction/clan within a preset world much like that of Oblivion or WarCraft as you have the freedom to create your own history and destiny. Then you use that freedom to communicate with other characters that will either help or destroy what you want to accomplish. I suppose you could say it's more like FF11 where people have to join groups to fight monsters since most monsters after a certain level become really tough with only one person.

If 5 people are in one Faction, assuming there's a leader, that faction will go any direction their Faction is based upon. If the faction/clan is based on world domination, they will setup storylines and battles against other factions in order to gain power. This will be done through communicating with other factions and then creating a thread to play out a 'mission'. Like let's say you're trying to take over an airship of a faction. Your leader will contact their leader and tell them they're going to attack their airship, giving them an equal chance to setup some defense. Then a thread will be made by the defending faction, the offensive faction then coming in to ambush them.

So you can say Factions is a series of role-plays through the preset storyline. In an online game, some people have scrims every week to practice. This is similar except 'scrimmages' are important in developing your faction and characters.

Yes, Thank you Griffith. But What I don't get is how does the role playing take place. When a story/ Mission is taking place does a person write paragraph and another faction member finish or do they do it in their own words or do they just go with the flow?

Lol, are you new to role-playing? RPing is individuals 'acting' through created characters with other people who have created characters. It's essentially writing an unpredictable novel where no one knows the outcome of many climaxes. I'll use my above scenario to be more specific to your question.

One faction, in this case, will introduce their airship and other members of the same faction will post their preparations. Once their finished, the enemy faction will come in to carry out a strategy they put together. Like maybe they want to capture the airship, so they'll try and take out the weapons, get in close, and either take over on the inside or use some method to pull it with whatever ships they're using.

Ultimately, all of this happens within the writing of every role-player on each faction. In this case, there would also be a posting order since this is a battle.

I am familiar with role playing but I'm not familiar with Co-Rping I suppose you could say. So say you were the commander of our airship and you ordered me to take out hte guns. So in reply I would confirm that I have taken out the guns in a dramatic story form. So this would be Co-Rping instea of just regular battle RPing. Or would it unfold diffirently. If there is one of these story already wrtten out could you give me the forum that it is located under so I could get more of a visual of what would happen?

Kind of. If you were sent out to take out the airship's guns, you'd attack and the enemy would defend. Depending on how skilled or powerful either of you are, you'll either fail or succeed. That's the unpredictability of Factions. It can go either way. That's what makes it fun too. If you want a good example of how Factions should play out, there's another site that uses a similar system and is very healthy because of it.

Thank you for the recomendations Griffith. Now how does TFF factions work? Well I understand how they work. But what is the main goal of TFF. Or is there one. And where can I find the factions to try and join? I know I'm asking alot of questions. I'm just a curious person. lol. ANd does you charicter have to be from a certain background or is that totally player optional?

The main goal is as I said about creating activity for the site, reviving role-playing here, and trying to make the site more healthy. We want people to learn how to interact with each other more effeciently and really have as much fun as possible.

As for characters, there is a certain world for these factions, but I've made it so you can honestly create any kind of character you want. There are rules, of course, just most of it shouldn't restrain your creativity.

Where can I join a faction? I looked on the Faction IC but I saw faction registration. Can I join a already formed faction. I also saw that you have made the faction called Fenix I think. What if I wanted to join that. Is there some sort of registration I can fill out for it or do I have to do something else?
