Is there a way to change one's user name at all? Thought mine was a little bland, only picked it so i would remember it, but turns out I don't need to remember it at all!

Might want to pay this thread a visit.

Basically, all you need is to post in this thread, and specify which new name you want. At any point, one of the Admins will be capable of changing your name into the one you desire. It should be a name that doesn't cause conflict with another member's name (i.e. you can choose any variant of a name currently unused, but it can't be too similar to one already used) Also, you should refrain from choosing obscene names or names that intend to mock or harm another user.

Hey thanks that's very helpful! How can I tell if a name is taken up? Do I just apply until I get one that's unused?

Well, you can use the "Members List" link handily located in the bar just above the thread (you'll see it between "Quizzes" and "Calendar") Then, look if the name you chose is or isn't used, by using the search link handily located upon the section. Just type your desired name, and that's it.

Also, mostly the Admins will tell you if the name is valid or not. They're good guys, so more often than not you'll be allowed the name change.

You just have to poke around a bit if they haven't changed it. You'll notice on the very same thread. Just beware; some people like to use it. A lot!
