Is there any way to find out who gave me negative rep??

Yeah, there's a way. It's called "begging LocoColt04 nicely."

I can't tell you because it's supposed to be anonymous for a reason. If people want you to know they're leaving rep, they'll leave their usernames.

Reputation really serves no purpose other than to show whether a user is a good or bad member of the community. Aside from that, it's nothing special.

Rep is kinda pointless. I just recently started handing out reps because I was bored. It makes neat little marks by your avatar. Pretty sweet stuff.

I have lots of negative reputation for doing my job. More should be done with reputation though. It would be swell.

ok cause i thought there would be like "if you got so much bad rep you'd be warned" or something liek that LOL and i could see a ton of people abusing that one HAHA

Oh no, not at all. We're not going to issue warnings for having bad rep.

Like James said, a lot of people like to lash out at staffers by giving them negative reputations for doing their jobs. I may have a lot of rep now, but trust me, there was a time when it was idling around zero, and even dipped negative on occasion. Lots of people don't like staff members. I'd also be willing to say that maybe a third of my rep is from people sucking up, too.

I have been thinking about various ways to make rep actually important, though.

^ if your not goin to regulate who can give it out and criteria, id not make rep too important or people would just **** around with it, and hence, take advantage of its importance, or people would be like "ok here's what we do, give ourselves rep all the time on every post, then we can be |------| this good"

i think you should bring back the stars though you know you want those flashy stars under your name, dont deny it haha

I made some changes to it that make it more difficult to abuse. They're all listed in there, but I'll be honest, I'm too lazy at the moment to get a link for you. ^_^;;
