PM Spam?

I'm guessing Cat_Fairy spammed a number of people about joining that forum?

I mean, it's one thing to invite a couple people you know/respect, or to have your forum linked in your sig. But jeez...

I get PMs from random people all the time about joining forums or something of the sort. Sometimes people sign up and PM everyone online to visit a forum. It really ticks me off.

All I ask is that people report the PM spammers. If they have a post count of five or less and are running around begging everyone to join their forums, it's a banning.

It's one thing if it's someone who's been here a while and is mentioning a forum to some friends. It's another for random spamvertisers to clutter your PM box.

Just forward the message, and I ban them. It's really that simple.

I got that message too, the one from Cat_Fairy. I really don't like getting them, I find them annoying and a waste of space on the inbox. I delete them straight away. I think those people deserve what they get because they are just pestering the members. I understand if members send a couple of PM's to friends but not to random people they don't know.

I can't stand people who join up just so they can advertise their own forums. They are really annoying.

I don't do it immediately, but I make sure these people have no purpose aside from advertising before I wipe them. It would suck to wipe a potentially good member, you know? I keep an eye on everyone though, and it's a busy job. Like I said, if you guys just forward the PM advertisements to me or one of the supermoderators, we can watch the users and then ban them if necessary.
