What type of gamer are you?

Are you a Perfectionist? Just a main game person? Play only one game at A time? Play many games at a time? Game Collector? I just want to hear different peoples play styles in any game.

To start, I play many games at one time and never really finish them. Im trying to stop that lately by beating every game in my house focusing on one at a time. I am sometimes a perfectionist, but only If I really like the game

I am a perfectionist. I like to get everything in the game from start to finish, which usually means that, by the time I get anywhere near completing the game, I'm bored of it, and I put it aside and come back to it at a later date. Right now, I'm trying to complete FF VII, FF IV Adv., FF V Adv., FF VI Adv., FFTA, FFTA2, FFT PSP, FF II PSP. I'm just all over the place. And it's very...hard to get back into the swing of things. Anyway...yeah. That's me. The crazy gamer.

When it comes to RPG's, i'm definitely a completionist, after i've finished the game once, I always feel as though I have to finish again collecting everything and finishing the game 100%.

I have a large amount of games, but i'm not neccersarily a collector.

Depends on the game really. I'm definitly not a collector. I only own about four or five games, haha. I'm a perfectionist if I get addicted to the game and really like it, if not then I just try and get through to the end, regardless of whether I've done all the sidequests, etc.

So...yeah. A random gamer. Yaaay.

REALLY, I'm a perfectionist but sometimes also a sampler. I don't know why I do it. Most of the time, I just sample a game to test how much skill or effort I can output. With FFVIII, I wasn't too interested at first but when I had really trialed it, it made a significant elevation toward my gameplay skills. I hate beating a game a not actually COMPLETING it. So yeah, perfectionist.

Usually I'm some what of a perfectionist. When I play RPGs I always try to do all the sidequests and get all of the equipment/items. Really the only thing I don't do is max out the characters' stats. I find it pretty boring and a waste of time. It takes forever and there really isn't any gain to doing so because you can usually beat everything at level 60 with ok stats. I just raise my stats so that I can beat everything in the game. Also I usually only play one or two games at a time. I like to enjoy the game and keep playing it instead of switching it for another game.

I tend to focus on one game at a time. On my first playthrough, I focus on the story really and end up doing one or two side quests inadvertently. If I like the game, my next playthrough will be more or less perfectionist.

I am a collector. I buy games all the time I can't help it. If I like it I buy it. So because of that I tend to play many games at a time which means it takes awhile to get through all of them.

I tend to only play the game once through though and then move on to the next.

I would say I am the Perfectionist-Collector type.
I own nearly every game I have ever bought, and I buy games very often.. I only sell ones that are completely useless to me now.
And as for the perfectionist, I like to play a game at least 3 times through, with the 3rd being a 100% complete.

I play games to get the story and be done with it. But if the story gets to me very well then I play it more times with different challenges.

Metal Gear Solid series. Beat it once just straight through. Next times I try and get all secret items, beat with 1 type of gun. Final Fantasy, I tend to just play them to play them. Stalker, is probably the one game I play over and over and try new methods every time.

I'd call myself a dedicated gamer in that I can't stand to not finish a game, mainly as I want to know how most end. I become a perfectionist on games after beating it the first time myself for the story. I can't stand major spoilers in the games I invest my time is on the first playthrough. After that, anything goes.

I'm also a genre specific collector. It can feel like I lose a limb when I trade in an RPG, but many games of most genres I don't care quite so much for. I'll beat them once or twice and then use them to get me a discount on the next thing.

I'm a perfectionist, I hate leaving something behind and if there's some sort of system to track my completion, I'll always try to get it to as close to 100% as possible (Xbox 360 achievements are a bad thing for this habit of mine, haha)

I'm also a one at a time kind of person; I find it hard to swap back and forth, I never get anything completed that way in the long run.

I'm also a collector; wether I deem a game worthy of buying is wether or not I feel I want to say I "own this game." I have a ton of old SNES carts I'm proud of (Secret of Mana, FFII, FFIII, Mystic Quest, LoZ: LttP, Chrono Trigger) and a lot of old PSX RPGs I hold on to.

I am an addict/ collector

When it comes to playing style I want to do as much as possible as quick as possible, one of the shoot first ask questions later, I got to have it all the time and when I am really into a game when I am not playing it I am talking about it and when I am not talking about it I am thinking about it, drives me nuts sometimes haha. But there is also the completionist side of me that makes me required to do a second playthrough to find everything and I won't stop til I get it and EVERY thing is DEAD. hahaha

But when it comes to being a collector (same as the addict side) I horde all the games I have ever owned. I still have every game and console clear back to my NES and hundreds of games inbetween all the systems I own. I DONT like getting rid of any no matter how bad they are. And once I get hooked on a series I must obtain all of them one way or another.

I collect games! All together if I count my PSOne, PS2, PS3, and my brothers Xbox and Xbox 360 games, I have some where between 200-300 games! Most of them I can't even find - I have no idea HOW I've lost so many seeing as the flat I live in tiney lol, - and I'm sure they are around somewhere... I've kinda built this collection since I got my PSOne back in 1998. I know it was 98 because we got it just after Tomb Raider III came out... My first game... :3

Erm... I like finishing a game 100%, BUT only if I like the game. I'm definatly going to re-play Uncharted again on all of the difficultys, and I want to unlock everything! Assassins Creed... Well... I never finished that because it was the only game I had at the time for PS3, and I didn't want to know what happened in the end incase its a long time before I get another game (if that made any sence at all...). I gotta play that and collect all the flags. Have no idea what they do though...

This holiday, when I don't have any plans, I wanna go back and re-play ALL of the TR games on PSOne, and anyother PSOne game that will take me back down memory lane... One final time...

EDIT: WOW! its my 10 year Anniversary of playing games!!! YAY!

I'm something of an RPG collector, though sadly I was forced to give up about half my collection recently. Mostly the oldest games that I no longer had the console for. The vast majority of my RPGs remain intact, though.

I too am a completist, which makes just one game last for a really long time. My first run through is always solely for the story. I usually end up doing a few sidequests here and there but I won't seek them out or anything. Second run is usually reserved for that sort of thing. After that it's sort of a mix between the two, and only very occasionally will I attempt things like max stats or character challenges. That's really the only thing I don't bother with simply because I don't like grinding. Unless I can find an easy way to do it, like in Suikoden IV. >_> I had all of the 108 who participated in battle at level 100, woo! But I used the levelling trick for that, otherwise there was no way in hell would I have done that the old fashioned way.

So I'm a completist but not a min-maxxer. Most of the time.

I'm an RPG gamer i don't really collect but i usually only complete a game that has a story line that drags me in it doesn't matter what battle style but i hate timed things there my one true annoyance (a small reason y i didn't like FF8 don't get me wrong it was good just don't like time things).

I play many games at once but if i find a game i like i carry on and complete it before the rest.

I am a definite perfectionist. I just have to have a game completed for some reason. I can't leave anything undone or unbeaten and have to have all the best unlockables. It's the reason why I never completed Final Fantasy X-2 and why I can't finish Crisis Core (even though I'm at the last part).

I am also a collector, but only of game series I really like, such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, even if I don't like one of the individual games. I used to collect Harry Potter games too, but after Goblet of Fire, I thought it was a waste of money. At that time, I discovered Final Fantasy. I'll probably just buy the Wii versions of Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows when they're like $20 each. lol.

I'm very competitive playing video games, dating way back to the Pokemon Red/Blue versions, where I spent countless hours leveling up and perfecting my ultimate pokemon squad. I was king of the Elementary school in pokemon, and people even wrote down in my 4th grade yearbook that I was the "Pokemon Master"!

Upon playing a new game or starting a new file or whatnot, I'll usually dump a bunch of time, like from 6-10 hours at the start on the first day, then I'll kinda throw it into my usual routine of games to play that I have. Sometimes it will get lost in the laundry list of games to beat, but by then I'll have something else sweet to play so it wont be any big deal.

I play a lot of rpgs and racing games and I am most definately a perfectionist - I want to find everything the first time i play the game. The more side quests or extra tracks, the better!!

Depends on the game I'm playing I guess. If it's a really great game I tend to focus on that one game and don't play anything else. But sometimes I just get bored in the middle of a game and play something else. Regarding RPGs though I'm a perfectionist I guess - want to have every single item etc. I have a lot of unfinished games laying around, even some I have never played so far... One day I wanna finish them all, but somehow I can't get bothered to play anything much lately...
