In this thread, just share your thoughts about SSBB and yes it was realesed today in English. I guess i will try and tell you what they do so here goes nothing.

Mario: Shoots out HUGE fireballs that cause major knockback and decent damage

Luigi: Makes a negitive zone i guess where a lot of effects happen such as one little hit can make you go flying. You control him for a bit

Peach: Makes everyone go to sleep and makes fruit drop out of the sky(yes your oppenent CAN eat them if they wake up)

Bowser: Turns into Giga bower and becomes
impossible to knock off(I think he can get knocked off by another final smash) . Also all your attack are 10x stronger and have added effects with it such as his a down( Just using the GC controller) makes a suicune blizzard go around him.

Donkey Kong: Takes out his drums and play which trap you in its beats. I also heard if you play on beat, the range become bigger and stronger

Diddy Kong: Takes out his jetback and penut gun for a time period. During that period you can shoot bad guys and ram into them or both. After the period is over, the jetpacks explode.

Yoshi: Grows wings and flys. You also has the opition of shooting fireballs

Wario:I guess he turns into super wario. Its has the same effect as when you turn into Giga bower but you don't turn huge. Your attacks are 10x stronger and you become much faster.

Link/ Toon link: Rushes at the nearest oppenent and starts to slash at them and then at the end, hits the oppenent sidways really hard and they go flying

Zelda/Sheik: Shoots a light arrow that goes straight and almost always is a OKO

Ganondorf: Turns into the beast form in Twilight Princesses and rushes forward heavily damaging foes and then transorfms back.

Samus: Shoot a huge wave of energy that damages foe and transforms into Zer suit Samus

Zero Suit Samus: Surronds herself in a ball of energy and then transforms into Samus

Pit: Calls an army of angles that fly around the screen and damage foes.

Ice Climbers: Makes a Huge Mountain appear in the middle of the screen that damages all oppents on it and not u.

ROB: Shoots out these beams that juggle the foe and cause damage( Only good upclose)

Kirby: Cooks foes in a pot then blast them away and cooks up items such as mazimum tamatoe and poke balls

Meta Knight: Swings his cape and if someone is inside, he makes a huge slash that hit all enemys within radius.

King Dedede: Calls and army of baddies that run to the end of the screen carrying and oppenent with them and causes damage

Pikmin and Olimar: Gets in a rocket and blasts off(If somone is near you when you blast of then they get hurt) Then foes get hurt a little and he comes flying down.

Fox/Falco/Wolf: Call for the Lanmaster tank that can fly and shoot beams.

Captain Falcon: Gets in a racer and races(damaging foes)

Pikachu: Uses volt tackle. You control him while hes doing this. You fly around and damage people.

Pokemon Trainer: Iyvasaur, Charizard and Squritale comes out and use this beam(Hydro Pump, Fire Blast and Solar beam) that flys across the screen hurting foes.

Lucario:Jumps up in the air and shoot out a huge Focus Beam(Kamaehamaha)you control if it goes left or right

Jigglypuff: Puffs up and takes up half the level and damages anyone who toches it

Marth: I guess he dashes forward and is almost always an OKO

Ike: Basically uses a upgrded version of his B Up. Finds a foe, then slashes them to the sky, slashes them in the sky and comes down with a bang.

Ness/ Lucas: Make stars rain from the sky. I think the only differance is thar Lucas usually has them grouped toegether and Nesses is more spread out


Mr. Game and Watch: Turns into an octipus. You control him and whoever he touches, takes major knockback and damge

Snake: Jumps out of screen onto a ladder then you control his rocket(thanks for the correction Toph) He has 6 shoot but he reloads once

Sonic: Turns into super sonic. Basically the same as yoshis but he doesn't shoot fire but is WAY faster and you have to ram into people to hurt them.

If I am missing anyone tell me or if I got the description wrong. NO I DID NOT MAKE THE VID BUT I DID MAKE THE DISCRIPTIONS.

In Pokemon Trainer, "this beam" is actually Flamethrower, solar beam, and hydro pump. Just thought I'd point that out. Lucario's is also Focus Beam.

Oh yeah. Snake's is a rocket launcher.

They had a video of the final smashes out like a week or something after the Japanese release of the game. It might have been earlier, but I watched it on youtube a while back. Most of the videos on youtube are the Japanese version, though I would imagine that English versions are starting to appear now that the game is out.

Some of the final smashes are over the top and powerful and then there are some that are just pointless almost. What I saw from Ness and Lucas standing in one place you will only get hit by one and even then you probably could avoid all of them. It is a shame that some of them do not get very good smashes. Though I doubt that final smashes will be tournaments anyway, so it will not affect the balance of the game in the overall scheme of things I guess.

I always tend to get them used AGAINST me. I've yet to actually get to use one.

Played 6 or so matches with S and Loco tonight, and played probably 4 or 5 earlier today vs S. I'm 2 missions into Emissary mode and I've cleared the hand 3 times thus far. So far I've only unlocked Marth though.

It's funny actually playing with S and Loco at long last. Something we've only talked about since the game was even announced, and now it's a reality.

Fun times, most fun I've had w/ my Wii since the day I bought it and played Zelda Twilight Princess. And well, I guess the tons of hours I've spent playing Guitar Hero 3. xD

I know man, we've been waiting for this for years. I think it was when AC on the DS came out, and the three of us were chilling in town together that we started raving about Smash. Even before they announced the online, we all knew it was going to happen.


Weather around here was rough tonight, but the lag was only evident a couple of times. I'm pretty pleased with the service overall, though the registration process is pretty balls. I mean, if we already have Wii FCs, why do we need them for each individual game? It just seems excessive, you know? In any case, it was fun. I consistently got the most kills in all but one round, but I kept coming up short on the victories. I only won, what, two or three matches? Oh well, it doesn't matter -- it was wicked fun, that's what counts.

Dammit! The final smash orbs piss me off! Everyone gets to them before I do! I'll hit them and they drift away and some one else will hit them and use them against me! ****ING KIRBY!!

Anyway, from what I've seen not much has changed battle-wise aside from new characters and final smash. The game has a multitude of new options ranging from rpg-type thingie that they ripped off Soul Calibre(which it, in turn, ripped off from Ergheiz) and the old school stuff. It's all really quite extraordinary.

My best character so far is Pit, but I'll find a new one eventually. Pit just doesn't have enough attacks for my taste.

So I played through as Meta Knight a bit tonight, then did some random stuff with him to get used to him. He does a significant amount of damage, but man his survivability is weak. Leaves himself too open when he uses any special because you can't use your up special to recover, nor can you jump after using a special. =\

I've been using Pit mostly, and I really like him but it's getting a little frustrating. His recovery is great, but his damage options are really limited in 4 player matches. He seems to do a significant more damage in the air, and is really good at controlling people in free fall.

Werid, all I heard bout meta is that he racks up damage fast but lacks a finishing move, I didn't think he was super light.

My best players in order would have to be...
1: Meta knight
2. Lucario

And I don't have a 3 yet. Maube IKE or link and possibly snake.

Snake is pitifully slow. And his moves lack direction. He's reminescent of the old Gannondorf. He has a stupendous final smash, though. Pit is still my choice.

Well i wouldn't say his attacks are weak...just hard to land.....and I got a Q, to activate your finally smash, do you press a smash move? For example, meta knights is kinda the same as his smash down so do i press that and it goes because every time i play, it just does it. I don't know if I pressed somthing but if I did can somone just please clear it up so I can edit my first post and tell people how to acitvate it. YES I KNOW THIS IS PRETTY NOOBISH FOR SOMONE WHO IS A MASTER AT MELEE

Love the game, thought that the Smash balls were unbalanced, especially for Peach and Donkey kong, some of the lamest Final smashes there are, Pit's usually doesn't hit, and Ness' and Lucas' are easy to dodge. The Final smams balls are fun, yet lame at the same time.

I love SSBB, beat the Subspace emissary and got all the maps and characters 3 days after I got it. My family cmplains I've been playing it too much lately, but I don't care.

I thought they messed up Ganondorf, but they aded Characters like Metaknight and Pit that are really quick... but easily defeated by highly ranged characters like Zero Suit Samus. Their Addition of Ike added another Powerful Slow character, and Dedede is just another Bowser except with different moves, slow and usually helpless against characters like Wolf, Fox and Shiek.

ya, Ganon is way slower...The thing that I got mad was the players have the same final smashes. Lucas could have at least have thunderbolts come down and Falco could have called on pippy and slippy. Wolf could have gotton in a ship but no....he has the same. The one thing that they should have added was King Ka Rool. If someone really wants 2....make up his movelist cause i suck at that.
