Perfect Dark is the best multiplayer first person shooter ever! Want to dispute this fact?

I'm talking about the N64 one not that sorry excuse for a game Perfect Dark Zero

So I beleive this is the best multiplayer first person shooter ever made and I thought is might be interesting to turn this into a challenge for anyone to try and convince me that I'm wrong and that Halo or something is better for whatever reason. What will be even more interesting is if anyone tries to argue that Goldeneye is better. If so my arguement is

Goldeneye was made by the same company and PD was their sequal in which they sucessfully improved on everything about it, tenfold

I actually made a good argument for PD previously so I'll quote it if you don't mind.

Also there were over 40 weapons + gadgets all of which were cool, interesting or useful and each weapon had a secondary firing option that would dramatically change the function of the weapon. I havn't played this game in years but just from memory her is a summary of just how many options you had in the game. Which weapons spawn, where they spawn, life handicaps (1-1000%), over a dozen differents AIs for Bots, up to 8 bots, upto 12 people/bots simultaneously, 50 multiplayer challenges, co-op campaign missions, very few bad stages, capture the flag, cature the breifcase, tag, king of the hill, Fortress (one of greatest multiplayer stages í've ever seen), Teams, saved profiles with ranks and more then I can posibly remember.
Oh and it was made by Rare dosn't that say everything

Bring it on!

Perfect Dark continued where Goldeneye left off. It was very good for its time. I really liked the fact that they even had a ranking system. So the more kills you got the higher the rank. I know most people are like big deal a lot of FPS have ranking systems. For Perfect Dark's time that was a big thing for me.

I found Golden Eye more fun PERSONALLY because of my OWN PERSONAL gaming experience. I had a million and a half more fun times playing Golden Eye than I ever had playing Perfect Dark, besides the fact that you're running around as James ****ing Bond, or any of the characters from Bond.

Proxy mines and Remote mines were incredibly fun. Find your buddy's spawn point and just lay proxy mines everywhere, one step and BOOM. xD

During High School Halo was the big thing for us. Nothing to me was more fun than running around capping you in the head over and over with a pistol while you unloaded a full clip from the assault rifle and I'm still alive. Or sniper/shotgun combos where you just blow people away from far away and grenade them, or get close and just blast them. Sure, Halo wasn't anything absolutely amazing, but to me in these types of games it comes down to the memories attatched to them, and Halo was the biggest thing in my senior year of high school to me and all my friends.

That and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! =D

Sums up pretty much exactly what I was thinking... Paintball cheats and the Golden PP7 made the game hilarious. Still I don't mind PD. It was a pretty fun game for the time I guess.

goldeneye and perfect dark i would consider a tie. both of them were really good. sure both of them had stuff that was better than the other, but that doesn't stop them from being fun.

Well, I have to disagree. While I thought both games were pretty rad (I prefer Goldeneye, simply because it's the first FPS I ever played so it has a special place in my collection), I got more into stuff like Turok Rage Wars and Unreal Tournament. I just like the whole tournament-style FPS thing more. But fuck Quake III Arena. Quake 4 barely made up for that garbage. As for Halo, it's not the strongest multiplayer game ever, but you gotta admit, nothing beats launching a Warthog 200 feet in the air with plasma grenades.

In the end, game options don't mean shit if I don't have fun, and PD wasn't really all that fun for me in comparison to others.

I definately enjoyed Perfect Dark much more than I did Goldeneye. However, I would change all of the "dizzy" effects in Perfect Dark. There were many ways to dizzy, too many in my opinion. Maybe one or two instead.

Its quite simple which is the best fps, its Counter strike. Just look at the player base for the last decade to proove it.

My fav fps to date is Delta force, but i havent played it in years due to it not lasting the test of time with most.

I've been playing CS about a decade now, theres no such thing as a good console fps they all suck

Hmmm... The Unreal Tournament games...
Oh and Quake 4. And I'm probably forgetting several others.

It is ultimately what you most prefer, but as much as I enjoyed Perfect Dark, there were better multiplayer FPS games in my eyes. Halo just pisses me off, mainly concerning some multiplayer maps and the sniper rifle...

I would have to say when Cod2 came out, although it lacks in major storyline wise. ON LAN it is possibly the funnest game. the m1 garand is possible the best weapon in a first person shooter. and then you can have only shot gun battles, and the vast levels make awesosme gameplay
