Has anyone ever played any .hack// games? I played the first one (Infection) and thought it was pretty good. I ordered 2 (Mutation), 3 (Outbreak), and 4 (Quarantine) and they are coming in the mail. I hope they are as good as the first. Also there are new games coming out. Anyway what is your opinion on these games?

Disappointment is the first thing to come to mind, the games could have all been released as one big game, but Bandai decided to be greedy and release them as 4 short games. They aren't worth more then $15 each imo since you are only paying for part of a game.

I'm not too knowing about this game. I do know there is a sunday cartoon, which my friend watches...and i bug him about it ^^, and what i think your are talking about, a card game.

I've never actually played the card game although i have watched my friend play it. It is a ressemblance to digimon although i believe characters are viruses and bacteria. The whole point of the game was to attack directly until your opponents life deck is brought down to zero cards. I've heard of Infection and quarantine card packs,...but like i said..i'm not sure if you're talking about the card game or actual video games...which i would be interested to learn about.

Yeah that was a big downfall that they were released as 4 games instead of one. I think on the first game my time to beat it was only 15 hours. But nonetheless it was a really good game. Oh well there really isn't much I can do.

I'm talking about the videogame series. I think that the games are worth checking out, but that is just my preference. Although they may be hard to find. There are going to be 7 games. I think. I have also heard of the card game and the tv series.

Yeah I remember getting to the final boss of the first game(felt kind of like the only boss) and I was like ".... thats it?" I mean don't get me wrong the storyline is awesome. Its just length is one of the reasons why I play RPGs, I feel I get my money's worth with a long lasting game, sadly that wasn't the case with .Hack.

I played them and whipped them completely just for the storyline. The games get repetitive over time. I think I put close to 300 hours on all 4 original games... time better spent else where. Right now, I’m waiting to buy G.U. Reminisce. It’s out, I just have finals to deal with first.

It's all connected and takes place over a period of, I think, 10 years. It starts with .hack//sign and is suppose to end with the .hack//G.U. series.

In chronological order, its Fragment(G), Sign(A), Infection(G), Mutation(G), Outbreak(G), Quarantine(G), The DVD with/during the games(A), Twilight(A), G.U. Rebirth(G), G.U. Reminisce(G), and G.U. vol. 3 (G)(No name yet)

The card game was a flop because just about no one played it.

The Epitaph of Twilight will explain more in a very vague way.

Someone has translated the Terminal Disk that was suppose to be added to .hack//G.U. Rebirth, but was cut at the last min. Read it only after you completed all the games up to now and the anime series, all 3 of them. Terminal Disk

.hack//Fragment, the actual online game that came before The World, is out in Japan right now.


This is the forum equivalent of TFF for the .hack universe, Dothackers. Much more stict though, so be careful...

Note: If you're under 18, don't watch the special features on the DVD packaged with the Quarantine. It's rather explicit scenes and very crude humor.

You'll be lost if you play them out of order.
Both in level and storyline.

I bought the games when they came out, around $50 each. Now they're gone, gave them to a friend as a birthday present.

I found out that some people got the Terminal Disk, don't know how, but pretty much pissed about it.

There's something that comes with G.U. Reminisce that goes with the Terminal Disk, so most people will be lost anyway...

The only Dot Hack game I've played was the lastest one Dot Hack: Vol. 1 Rebirth. I can't wait for the 2nd part of the game.

I think the second part is already out. I hope you like it! I can't wait to get the first and second GU games, but first I need to finish Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine and save up some money. I'm almost done with Mutation already. I hope that the GU games are as good as the first games.

I played through .Hack Infection and .Hack Mutation and they were really short. I also haven't been able to find Outbreak so I can't really continue the series. When I find it at a used store I'll for sure buy it.

I've played .hack// INFECTION but I can't seem to find mutation anywhere. I found it once, but I didn't have enough money, and I was visiting a mall in georgia at the time.

Yes I had a really hard time finding Mutation as well! Finally I found it at Amazon. It cost way too much money, but I got it anyway. I'm glad I did! I really liked playing through Mutation, but maybe that's just me.
